ICKY POO !! Bought a $25.00 UPS card (apparently from previous licensee) of Polk Street location) When I tried to use it there to make some copies, was told that they don't honor this card. AN UPS CARD AT AN UPS STORE !!! Contacted UPS HQ in California and explained my problem. They said they would refer problem to a regional manager in Chicago. And that is the last I heard. Visited the Addison, IL. location at 1600 Lake Street today around 11:00 a.m. Waited in line and as my turn came, I approached a young man, African American to take care of my need to print approximately 50 pages. When I shared that request he asked me if I received an email. Unsure what that meant, I stated no and he said it again. I indicated if printing was available, he stared and I indicated I would go elsewhere. This young man needs a refresher course on your products available, and how to address a customer that is there for something he may / may not have a preference to complete such transaction. I was just at this store today and the owner-operator representative on duty was not wearing a surgical mask per State of Illinois requirements for COVID-19 infectious disease control protocols. I politely asked him to put on his mask and he refused. He said if I didn't like it I could take my business elsewhere. This is not only ignorant and incredibly rude, it also puts UPS customers at risk. A surgical mask works only if everyone is wearing a mask in an enclosed space. Unless you are wearing an N100 or N95 respirator you will only have at best 50% protection against someone like this who was not wearing a mask. It is unacceptable that UPS has people like this representing them. I am taking my business to Fed Ex. I fully intend to pursue this with the Village of Addison and also UPS corporate. And I will demand they pull his UPS franchise. I speak from experience in the field of biodefense when I say the following. People...stay safe....stay away from this store. It's not worth risking your life or God forbid the life of an elderly parent or person in your home with a compromised immune system. You may be one of those who do not have many symptoms if this guy infects you should he have COVID-19, but they surely will if he infects you and you infect them. This is our local store in the neighborhood. We like coming here because they are friendly and quick. They are located on a strip mall one thing I don't care much is the limited parking space. Overall I would recommend to come to this location if you're around the area. read more

I just schlepped 4 packages to this UPS, the largest being a car seat. I managed to wrangle it out of my car and was (awkwardly) approaching the door when an older gentleman employee opened it and insisted on taking it from me. It was very nice and much appreciated! I asked for a receipt, and he and the other two employees (a young woman and man) were nice and speedy about processing them. It was a nice experience! I know it's *just* UPS, but good customer service is really appreciated! read more

I ship two items from this store and only one package reach the add on the label and I call the store and Nick answered and stated that his system could not give any more info that the tracking online and to call 1-800-742-5877 and they can tell me where my package was ..I call and was told my package was going back to the UPS store and they can give me a refund, I go up to the store and Nick did not know what he was doing not once did he put the tracking number in the system to check anything and he half check the return closet were package should have been and told me basically he don't know what to do , How can you leave a person in charge of a store that can't work a computer ? read more

So first time I went was last month- I was returning my equipment for cable. The old guy that works there was SO RUDE. I figured he was having a bad day or something so I just blew it off..... I had to go back today and he was there again. I remembered he was bent out of shape last time because I left the remote batteries in the remotes (and he made me take them out and take them with me-ok no big deal), so this time I took them out ahead of time so he wouldn't be mad. Well.... yet again he was in a s#itty moody and rude to me for no reason. Taking the items out of the box and slamming them on the counter with an attitude. I was trying to be friendly to him again.... he is just a crabby old jerk! I'm never going back there again to be treated like dirt!! Whoa.... I go to a lot of shipping center's. I go to a ups store at least twice a week every week for the last 10 years. I GO TO SEVERAL UPS STORE LOCATIONS. This one is bad. The guy who works here is very rude. IT'S LIKE YOU ANNOY HIM FOR BRINGING PACKAGES TO SHIP... I have been to this location many times and it is always the same grumpy rude dude.. he might have a reason to be but it is a customer service industry. I go to restaurants. I shop at stores. I've never yelp about anything but I got to say, I love this location! The staff is always kind and helpful. I shipped a guitar recently in which I just had the box but no packing materials. Megan was more then helpful in packing my guitar with attention and care. Can't say enough good things about this place!! Will go nowhere else for my shipping needs. read more

I've shipped here twice now and received quality service from the same employee, Johnny. Johnny was professional, moved quick, and was very friendly. Thought it was cool how he snuck some friendly convo about hockey in as he was typing my shipment up(I was shipping some equipment to my little brother). Nice personal touch and within a few mins, my shipment was all set and I left the store feeling welcomed and appreciated as a person. This UPS store is awesome!!! I live nearby and have used them for all of my shipping, packing & printing needs for several years now and have never had a bad experience. They have wonderful customer service with super friendly associates who often do things for free that they could charge for, and I've never gotten a rude response from anyone who works there. Was reluctant to use this store due to several bad reviews. I thought what the heck, I would give it a try. Glad I did. Kelsey waited on me and was terrific. She was polite, courteous and professional. She even asked if I was an AARP member because you get 5% off if you are. This is now my go to UPS store. I go to a ton of shipping centers - I am a pro bowler and ship bowling balls constantly. The man at the counter was extremely rude. I had a heavy package that I placed up on the scale and as soon as this male employee rounded the corner he acted annoyed that HE HAD TO DO HIS JOB. He let out a huge sigh when I asked if could please ship my package. This man should not be in the customer service industry, and after reading all the comments about him I am very surprised he still has his job. I now know why I always ship Fed Ex. You have solidified losing my business, UPS. Ditch this employee now or you will lose more from this location. read more

This UPS store has been a great resource. I have made at 8 shipments from here. Including VERY fragile shipments, one very large strangely shaped shipment that was EXTREMELY important, and several that needed to get to California in a hurry. Every shipment arrived in great condition and on time. I have found the staff to be helpful, knowledgeable and conscientious. I would highly recommend this team! read more

I brought in an 1890's antique candelabra and the older gentleman that everyone complains about on here started unscrewing one candle holder and I noticed paint on the counter AFTER he dropped it. I deservedly said "hey, someone paid for this and now the paint is chipped". He got mad at ME and said" ma'am I was just trying to help you, take your business elsewhere". REALLY? Like I did something wrong? After I gladly left I noticed he actually twisted the arm and ruined it. I had to refund the money and now unsellable. I lost money because he had no business touching my antique and doing what he did. What's worse was the attitude that I was the bad guy here. The response from the store is inaccurate. The man did NOT explain anything, they were NOT loose, which is why he had to take the arm and twist it off hard and damaged it, and there WAS paint chips on the counter. He did NOT inspect the candelabra for damage to even know. Total unprofessionalism. read more

I have used this facility in Addison consistently over the past six years. I have received nothing but stellar service each and every visit. The employees are courteous and helpful. They always look for a way to save you money or make the experience more efficient. I have had to use other facilities occasionally if I was not in the area and there is no comparison. Worked at this company for 3.5 years, i performed amazingly, was promoted within 6 months to a supervisor, i was eventually asked to do a company drug test and i informed management i was a medical marijuana patient, i was told if i tested above the corporate levels i would be fired. i was forced to quit as of then. this is not a reputable company to work for at any point, management will root you out as soon as they have a chance to promote you to get you out of the union if they don't like you. would not recommend this company to anyone in my lifetime. read more

I used this store several times this summer while clearing out my childhood home and had an absolutely great experience. They shipped about ten boxes that they packed for me (and believe me, it was a random, weird and fragile collection of crap my sister apparently can't live without.) Everything arrived in tact and on time. They also PICKED UP an antique sewing machine at my parent's house and shipped it as freight, even varying the delivery date to be convenient. This is a direct quote from my sister: "They did a great job and we could build a table with the wood around the machine." I also used them for some shredding. The owner felt so sorry for me (weird sister, dusty old house to clean by myself), he even comped a small bag of personal shredding I'd brought in (Hey, time management, you know) with all the files from my parents' house. Now, I'm in no way suggesting they're going to pick up stuff at your house, or comp any of your shredding, but I'm bringing it up by way of example that the folks at this store seemed to bend over backward to make me happy. And they succeeded. Seeing some of these other reviews, I'm having a hard time believing they walked into the same place. read more

I had an issue with getting a tracking number. The rude employee told me it was on my receipt, only to find it wasn't on my receipt. To make a long story short, after multiple calls, I discovered that the employee also acted as the manager. I asked to speak to the owner, and he informed me that the owner was his father and that he would not be passing on my concern. This store is an independent store so UPS will not handle any issues that you have within that store, so if you have an problem, you are in trouble in that they will not help you. I will never go back there. read more

I Googled this store to get their exact address for my GPS and was surprised to see the rating. I've used them probably a half dozen times and never had the slightest problem. I dont have them pack for me and am generally returning items from Internet purchases. Perhaps the difference is the level of service I'm asking for....but surely never had a problem. read more

On 5/19/16 I dropped 2 boxes to be packed and shipped. 5/27/16 Recipients called me, never received. 5/27/16 I called store and spoke to manager, questioning about the time involved. They were out of bubble wrap so let the items sit for a week without notifying me and with no offer to refund the packing charges. He's sorry no one called me.
