Yesterday (wed, 27 August 2025)I made a sale on eBay and prepared my items in a Sterilite brand sturdy plastic tote. I frequently buy and sell auto parts on eBay, and many of the items I receive are shipped in similar totes. In fact, I originally received this very tote from UPS when it was used to deliver a transmission to me. I secured the lid with 16 cable straps so there was no way it could open. eBay directed me to the closest UPS store, so I drove there with the tote. At UPS Store #0105, the manager refused to accept my package and insisted that I purchase one of their boxes for $97. After a lengthy discussion, I asked them to provide a written statement confirming their refusal, which they declined to do. I then took the same tote to another UPS location, where it was accepted in less than 30 seconds. For context, the package weighed 51 pounds and qualified as a heavy package. When I explained that UPS accepts plastic totes as shipping containers, I was told they weren't sure if the driver would accept it. So is the issue the material or the size of the tote? Their uncertainty made it clear that they were making decisions without knowing UPS policy. In reality, it seemed they simply didn't want to accept it because of its larger size. Education is key. I strongly recommend that the management ensure staff are properly trained to handle shipments according to UPS policy. read more

I was in line for 40 minutes at this location while 3 of the brain-dead employees were chitchatting and helping one customer and the other two employees were trying to figure out how to ship another customer's package. Does it take multiple people to help one customer? Does one need to be a high school graduate to be hired here? Meanwhile, the line kept growing. The employees paid no attention to the line...not even a "sorry, we'll be right with you." They just continued at their leisurely pace, unfazed. read more

During my first experience with this location there was a line of people and 1 incredible employee hustling to get through the line. She went to the back and specifically asked the manager Heather for assistance and was denied. Heather never came to help while the sweating employee did her best to assist every single client herself. My shipment was returned so I called to inquire the issue and was hung up on mid sentence by Heather who stated this location is an affiliate, not UPS, and I would have to pay full price for the service I already paid for. When I arrived Heather wouldn't not come forward to speak with me, and the box I sent the shipment in was heavily damaged so now I have to pay for a new box and to ship it, weeks after it was supposed to be delivered, after being treated rudely and hung up on by the manager, Heather. read more

I'm not sure why this UPS got such a bad rating. My experiences with them had all been wonderful. I had stopped by many times to drop off my packages, to get some labels and to ask some questions....and all the times I was there, the staff greeted and helped me promptly and politely. There was never really a wait to get a service from them at all. The only thing was just the parking lot can be a bit cramped and can at times be busy...so be careful, especially if you try to back out of a lot, so you don't run into people or other cars. read more

We've had a box at this location for over a decade. Way back in the beginning, customer service was friendly, knowledgeable and accurate. They knew us by name and treated us like valued customers and community members. We loved the staff. Then it changed hands. All those old awesome UPS counter workers had their wages drastically cut so they found better jobs elsewhere. It's steadily gone down hill. With every new manager it worse. They don't check in packages for days. I never receive notices that my package has arrived. I know because the company notifies me. I go in a day or two after I get notice that it has been delivered and signed for but still no tag in the box and I have to go get in line and ask for my package that arrived at least a day or two before that. I've heard current workers say the former manager was terrible but now they have a good crew - reality is the total opposite but they are oblivious. Also for a while it smelled bad in there and was trashed with packages everywhere needing to be checked in. My wife and I are leaving after a decade even though it's a pain to change addresses. I'm sick and tired of being pissed off about pathetic service. read more

Since they have closed the UPS service centers, I have no choice but to bring my packages to the UPS store. At this location I was greeted confrontationally by the manager Heather, when she refused to take more than 10 boxes. I asked if she knew where I could take the rest of my 40 boxes, she said that the ups stores will only take up to 15 boxes a day from one customer. So, I would have to go to several locations. But yet, she only took 10. I went to a different location and told them what happened, and they told me to bring them all my boxes. They were very nice. Heather said she did not have enough space to accommodate me. This location was convenient for me, because I live nearby. but now, I have to drive extra miles and extra time to get to another location. It's unfortunate, for me, because I have a small business, and ship 50 to 60 boxes a day, different sizes, and mostly lightweight. I guess this UPS store cannot meet the demands of small business owners and can only handle minimal boxes. So, if you are a small business, DO NOT go to this UPS store, because you will be rejected/denied service. It actually doesn't even need to be a small business. If you are shipping out for example Christmas presents and if there's more than 10 boxes, you will be rejected. This location did not work for me. And luckily, I found one that did. If I could put a negative rating I would! This is the most awful location you could possibly go to in the Albuquerque area. The associates at this location are very disrespectful, and ill-mannered. The General manager Mitch blew up at the customer in front of me because they were asking simple questions trying to understand the shipping process, he butted into the conversation Instead of letting the associate finish explaining. This is the most disappointing experience I've had at a UPS store yet. I'm honestly scared to go back I would hate to get yelled at like that over asking questions. read more

Very helpful and professional. Highly recommended this location. The store manager happened to be the one working the day I went in. I had to ship an important package and print something off the computer. The manager was a great help and provided wonderful customer service. I don't live in the area but after my experience at this location, I think it would be worth the commute to conduct more business here. read more

I came here for their notary service. It was about $5 per notarized page. The store is quite small and has a parking lot thats sort of like a small cul-de-sac. I could see the parking lot being pretty tight when busy, which wasn't the case when I visited. Thank goodness! Their service was fast and convenient. No complaints. :) read more

I recently had this store ship a TV to my brother in law and it was received in damaged condition. It has been well over a month since we submitted an insurance claim, which UPS claims department has approved, but is waiting for paperwork from this store before issuing payment. We have spoke to UPS claims department and they said they have emailed the store, called 3 times and sent a letter, but no reply. We have called the store (usually there is no answer), but when we have spoken to the manager they stated that they cannot get anyone on the phone at UPS claims department to sort this out (even though I have had to wait no more than 5 minutes to get anyone on the phone). We do not live in ABQ any longer and are beyond frustrated with the store manager, who does not call us back, nor does he answer email. Finally, the claims department has provided us with the UPS corporate store contact information to lodge a complaint against the store and try to get them to communicate to the claims department. We have not done this yet, but it is our next step. Last, if the store refuses to cooperate with their corporate HQ, then we have to wait 9 months before UPS corporate can make the payment without the store information. The management is really poor and I wish the owner would step in and get this resolved before we have to escalate to corporate, the BBB and get lawyers involved. As soon as I walked in, Sterling and Ahmed took notice of me and offered to help with my packaging. I needed to send out a return. They were both so super helpful and immediately offered to tape up my box for me, help me fill out the form, and even offer to copy the return label for me. They were friendly and professional. Extremely dishonest. I paid them to wrap and send a turntable to an ebay customer, they taped the box the turntable was in into a larger box without any padding...nothing. It rolled around and was destroyed. Then proceeded to not return my phone calls, lie about the insurance policy and NEVER get me my insurance claim. And don't thin this is a one off thing, this went on for months, I spoke to a number of employees. I didn't even get the 400 dollar turntable back. DO NOT GO HERE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

Very poor customer service. I walked in and received blank stares. When I started to describe what I needed, the staff member Sterling laughingly mocked me when I used the words "protective envelope"... I'm not sure what's funny about that. I wanted a bubble wrapped or secure envelope to send some valuable items to a purchaser safely. Then another staff member, without saying a word, grabbed an envelope that was flimsy and had very little protection, shoved my item in without saying a word and folded the envelope up and walked off. All told, over 20 bucks with insurance to send a small card box, slowly (over 5+ days) and a rude staff with no customer service. I hope the package gets there in one piece. I'll just go to the Post Office next time, which I should've done in the first place. read more

I had to lower my rating when I found out that the 3-day delivery that I paid for was delivered in 6 days. They said it was due to "mechanical failure," whatever that means- something about the plane. I should have trusted my instincts and stuck with USPS read more
