Each time I have used this location, the initial quoted price has been ridiculously high. When I've complained, I've been told that they'll "see what they can do". I then have been given a "special rate" that is still higher than expected. I will not use this location again. read more

I'm never going back to this place solely on the fact that it is way more expensive than other shipping places. That's it. I went there to ship a package that contained a greeting card and a CD and ended up paying $20 (didn't put insurance or anything special on it) because it was being shipped to a town in North Carolina. I believed the guy when he said that it was going to cost that much because the town was up in the mountains because the recipient had just moved up there so I didn't know better. So I paid up but later found out I could send a package (similar size/flat rate) from the post office for about $6. Sooo I know where I'm going from now on. read more

I went to this store on 11/18/2013 intending to ship a package weighing less then 5 lbs. to Brazil. The clerk was pleasant and "helpful" and offered me two options: DHL with Tracking and Insurance for $294.00 or USPS without insurance or tracking for $145.00! I was shocked and questioned him. I inquired if it would be cheaper to mail from the Post Office. He said probably $15.00 cheaper but there is no insurance or tracking and it will take 4-6 weeks--LIE. I THANKFULLY decided to pass. Today, I went to the post office and shipped it USPS Priority Mail International for $52.95! Plus it is supposed to get there in 5 days! Conclusion: Stay CLEAR of this place!!! I tried to mail a small package from Arlington to Boston. The guy behind the counter told me the best rate was through USPS (this is a UPS store) and it would cost $24.00 and it would not be guaranteed to arrive for at least a week. Their best UPS rate was over $25.00. I went to my usual UPS drop off place, (Staples) where they guaranteed an arrival in 3 days, at half the price. I checked the price for my package (weight, dimensions) the UPS website, and they quoted me around $10.00. The prices at that store aren't worth it... go to Staples (down the road). If I could give this store 0 stars, I would. I moved out of DC in August, so I shipped about 15 packages from this store totaling over $800. I'm sure that was overpriced. One of my trips contained 9 boxes and when I asked the store clerk for help bringing the boxes in, he said he couldn't leave the store. Super helpful! I mailed two large pictures that I packed in their own box with padded corners and plenty of other padding. One of the picture packages showed up with a huge gash in it. The UPS driver said the other box was damaged and he had to sent it back to the shipping store. So after wondering what happened for a week, I called this store to find out. The guy who answered the phone said that the box was returned to them as per UPS policy. So my options were for him to just throw away my $350 picture because it was probably damaged beyond repair, or I could have them take the picture out of the box, repack it, and pay to have it shipped to me again. WHAT? Apparently, if you pack your box yourself and don't use a box with the right pressure rating, UPS voids the standard $100 insurance you get, so it's basically useless. So now I have to pay $375 to get my picture fixed and shipped back to me, in addition to the original $50 I paid. I spoke to the owner to ask if he could do anything to help me. He had the UPS claims team come back out and they denied the claim again. He said there was nothing he could do. I asked him if I was unrealistic to expect him to help me out at all by paying the $100 or at least not charge me to ship it back to me, but he had no interest in helping me. I am glad I'll never have to use this store again. It's always been overpriced and the staff is completely unhelpful. read more

I went here to ship a package and they wanted to charge me over $25 dollars to ship a 2lb package FedEx Ground to Massachusetts. The clerk (young guy, similar bad reviews) had a very "so what, why should I care that I'm over-charging you" attitude, so I went to the computer in the store, went on my own FedEx account, spent $.10 to create and print out my own label which came to just oer $6 via FedEx ground. I don't know what was going on here, but they really do over-charge you for shipping. When I told him that it came out to less than $7, he shrugged it off. This place is a SCAM. I hope others do not have a similar experience. read more

The service at the UPS Store was superb. I was in a rush to send some urgent documents, however my papers were not organized I needed clips and staples and sticky notes. Kevin seeing my frustration he waited for my patiently and with a smile on his face he kept handing me the clips, the stapler and making feel that he had my back. What a great experience. Next time I went I had the same kind of service with a different employee, I believe his name was Jay. The third time I was there after paying I forgot my credit card, Jay immediately called me to let me know that I forgot my CC and that he will keep it safe until I was able to pick it up. These men are friendly, but the rates they charge are absurdly inflated. I believe they are aware of the problem. I mailed a brochure to my ex a few weeks ago with tracking and confirmation. Cost? $32.00. I returned ("D'Oh!") this week to send some expense reports to an office 1 mile down Wilson BLVD. An 8 page document sent with tracking? $14.00 and change. I asked if there was a cheaper method, to be quoted $9.70. "Are you a post office?" I asked. The man behind the counter stiffened and said "We are an independent contractor, not a government agency". He's actually a very nice fellow, but his work involves implementing a business model that is simply predatory. So I will w-a-l-k to the Post Office. I would trek the Sahara in a black down parka over woolen thermal underwear to avoid being overcharged at these rates. This faux helpful joint is, sadly, a complete and total ripoff. Hey, it's OK to make a sensible profit, but these rates are shamefully greedy and consumers should not stand for that. The employees here are nice young men, but this is a shabby, exploitive enterprise for straight-up suckers only. read more

I just didn't get a good vibe in this store. Very young guy at the counter didn't greet me, smile or any type of real acknowledgement. I said hello anyway. Got my papers together that I needed to copy and told him I need these copied. He just pointed and told me the printer was "Over there". Why did he have to wait for me to lay out all of these papers before telling me I had to copy myself? Copiers are pretty basic, but I wanted to make sure so I asked him how to use it. I sensed an attitude, but he came over to explain and I thanked him. Another customer came in, he greeted them and offered to help with no problem. I got internally offended, but proceeded to pay for my copies. I may be just picking, but I've never noticed this before in my 25 yrs of life: I handed him some bills and he retrieved them with his thumb and index finger, seemingly as if he didn't want to touch my hand. My profile picture may be green, but I can guarantee you I'm not green and slimy in real life lol. As he handed me my change, he dropped the coins into my hand making sure his hand didn't touch. That may be how he handles all of his transactions, I don't know, but his actions just stood out to me. At least my copies were pretty :-). They don't sell single stamps. I won't be back there; all I need is one bad vibe to not return to a place. Tivoli made me feel better. read more

I have been here three times, and have determined that they charge more than any other UPS Store that I know of. You pay extra for tracking services, and they don't even give you a tracking number. Staff are abrupt and rude. If you need to use this location, it is better to pay for your shipping online and just drop it off at the store, rather than give them your business. They once told me that a ground shipment to Canada would be over $60. I went online and paid about $20 for it. read more

I agree with Erin G. The people at this store have always been helpful, pleasant, and professional. I've had a mailbox with them for ten years. They've assisted me with getting boxes to my car and once even offered to carry them to my apartment a few blocks away. I can't speak to the shipping prices, but the box rental is comparable to others in the area and the hours are excellent. Very disappointed - I needed a lease (two copies) notarized and half way through the signing was told it would cost $5.00 PER NOTARY STAMP! Yikes, since my daughter and I both had to sign several papers in several places the total came to $140.00!!!! That's insane. We should have been told how much the fees would be when we walked into the store, not AFTER we had signed all the papers. TERRIBLE customer service. read more

I had about 15 large boxes that didn't fit into my shipping container when I packed my house, so I was looking for the cheapest way to ship them. I came in to this UPS Store to ask some questions about shipping boxes freight. I've never had to deal with it before so I thought it best to go speak with someone in person. The rudeness, attitude, and condescension that I was immediately met with caused me to turn around and walk out the door inside of 30 seconds. I signed up for yelp specifically to let you know not to give this store your business. The guy behind the counter was a jerk. I walked in with a box, already had prepaid UPS label from the merchant (I was returning something) and said, "Hi, I have a box to drop off." He goes "Put it on the scale." I said, "It already has a prepaid lable on it." "Put it on the scale." Only this time he just stared at me like I was an idiot. I said "OK" and dropped it on the scale. Apparently he needed to scan and weigh it to give me the tracking number. But it was pretty obvious that I was inconveniencing him, as he wasn't making any money off of my prepaid label. They are knowledgable and patient with customers. They have helped me with bringing in my packages when they are heavy. The service has greatly improved since I first came here three years ago. I'm relocated back to Chicago and stopped in to pick up some boxes. My sister was in town and drove me there. Unfortunately they didn't fit in the sports car that she rented (why she rented a sports car knowing I needed help with boxes, the world may never know). It was almost 7:00pm and they close at 7:30 and the supervisor that was there asked where I lived and I told him (about 1.5 miles away) and he offered to have one of the young men working there take them to my apartment! I think this was really above and beyond service. I rode with the employee to my apartment and he unloaded the boxes for me (and was tipped handsomely for his efforts). Convenience and Service -- Both excellent. I've used these guys for several years now and they're always there, 7 days, to help. Sometimes I find it a little cheaper to go to teh post office, but there I have to wait... wait... wait... in line, waste time, etc. I've never gotten anything but smiles, help carrying packages in, and outstanding professionalism all around. It makes me wonder about some other less than glorious revierws here, and the motives of the reviewer. You won't find a better place to conduct shipping, copying, notary, mailbox rental, etc, in Arlington! Went in today to return a package to a client. Had the clients account number since they were covering shipping costs. Have done this many times before at a different location but just happened to be close by to this location so I figured I would stop in and save myself some time. Not only were they unable to help me, they explained to me that this was not possible which I know is not true, but they were extremely rude with their explanation. I had multiple boxes I was trying to send and had to make multiple trips back to the car. He offered to help but I declined, I just wanted to leave and go to my normal location. As I was carrying some of the boxes out to my car, he chose to ignore my declination and literally threw the rest of my boxes out the door. Three people outside the store saw this happen and were all taken aback. I will never step foot in this location again. I advise all to steer clear of this location read more
