The worst experience i have ever had trying to mail a package. I came in one day to mail a package and shipping was $12. A lot for shipping but i forgot an item and i had to come back the next day to ship the item and the next day for the same item they wanted me to pay $22!!!!!! For shipping 1 item in the usa!!! And then when i tried to call the company to get a free return label, the ups store doesnt have wifi and they make you use a computer in store that costs $12 dollars to use!! Plus $2 dollars to print one piece of paper!! And the computer took a million years to just open my email. And after all that they said they cant mail my package!! They say i have to go to tje post office!! Then what is the ups stoee even there for if they cant even mail a package!!! TLDR; this ups store is ridiculous. Charging me $2 to print 1 piece of paper and then they say they cant mail my package for me!!! Never going here again read more

Came here today to print, sign, and FAX some documents. All went smoothly! I paid my money and left. The recipient called me and said he didn't receive the documents because the cover sheet that came with the documents had an incorrect phone number on it. I went back and had the documents sent again to the correct number. The owner of the store provided excellent customer service and sent the second FAX at no cost. Thank you again!!! read more

I generally don't like giving negative reviews, but as a resident in a small community I hope the owner can use this as constructive criticism. I've been in the store twice now, once to mail a small package and another to get a document notarized. On the second visit I intended on renting a mailbox too, but that didn't happen. Both visits felt similar to my recent visits to the SLO DMV, which is to say the customer service was cold, non-engaging, and stand-offish. I understand the Covid-19 crisis may be an influence, but I've had great encounters at other retail locations including banks (and even the DMV!) that were more personally engaging. My experience with getting a document notarized was particularly off-putting. Not my first rodeo having documents notarized, I get this done a minimum of twice each year for my company. On this occasion I came with the document and my identification ready to roll. Unfortunately I have an expired plastic license, so brought the paper extension to make sure they had a valid license. The notary said the license was expired, and when I pointed to the paper extension he proceeded to tell me that wasn't acceptable. Mind you, the paper extension reads "Interim Driver License", but he told me it wasn't acceptable because at the bottom it read "This license is issued as a license to drive a motor vehicle; it does not establish eligibility for employment, voter registration, or public benefits." Now I'm no notary expert, but my limited understanding is a license need not be current and is acceptable if issued within the last 5 years, which it was. But even so, I had a valid extension, so it shouldn't have been a bone of contention. Fortunately, he asked another worker in the store if they were still accepting expired licenses (due to Covid-19 license renewal issues) and was told he could accept it if it hadn't been expired for more than 120 days (which it had not), so he proceeded to notarize the document telling me "I'm not going to argue with you" when I pointed out that the license was valid. Based on my two encounters, especially the last, there was no way I wanted to get a permanent mailbox at that location. Instead I'll head over to Mail Plus in Pismo for that. Not as close, but certainly better customer service. Unfortunately I've found when customer service is lacking, it almost always points directly to the ownership/management of the organization. Poor hiring, poor training, or poor supervision/management are the three primary causes for poor employee performance. The owner won't be able to correct the problems at this store until they take a long hard look in the mirror. read more

Beware of hidden charges...... Jaqlynn said she could cut a box to size for a few extra dollars. The box was selling for $11.34 so I thought what's a couple more(?) I was surprised when I was paying that it was $5 & suggested that she should say it will be $5. She then said a few is $5. I went to Nipomo to mail the package & they don't charge to cut the boxes. Thankfully they don't because he had to cut the opening to seal it since she did such a poor job :( read more

I paid over $100 dollars for next day delivery to Sacramento. My package didn't arrive until 4 days later. I requested a refund and was denied. Said my box went to Kentucky and was delayed by weather. Guess I will use USPS in the future. read more

The Employee seemed completely disinterested in helping me print the label and was just waiting to lock the doors to then tell me they closed and I can't help yo since the box isn't sealed and I left without being able to ship anything off despite bringing the box and just needing to print the label. I've only had to use this location for a simple prepaid drop-off yet I felt compelled to pen this to negate some of the other poor responses about customer service. I was promptly greeted by a woman this morning and she quickly processed my request for a printed receipt. There was only one other patron here at 8:30 a.m. so i was able to be in and out in seconds. I recently had 100 postcards printed for our local business at this store and I just had to leave a review to say how absolutely wonderful the customer service was from start to finish! Zach Teresi caught an inconsistency in our original design and reached out to me to confirm if it was truly what we wanted before printing! I'm so grateful for his catch because there was a watermark on our design that we did not intend to be there and would have made the finished product unusable. I was so grateful for his attention to detail and his reaching out to confirm our design! Due to this and a sizing change the start of the job was delayed on our end until we could get him new designs which took a day. He still completed our project according to our original timeline despite the delay on our side! I was blown away by the quality of the finished project, the swiftness of the completed job, and the price was fantastic as well. We will certainly be coming back to this UPS store for all our printing needs and so should you! read more

I have been patronizing this UPS Store for several years and have always been happy with the service I receive. You can email them an image and they will have your copies ready when you arrive. If you want to print black and white business stationary have them print your copies on the large color copy machine. It costs four cents more a copy but you get a first class looking product that rivals any print shop. If you want color copies they charge 39 cents each, compared to 69 cents at Office Max. You also support local business since the store is owned by locals. read more

Consistently impressed with the staff at this location. I've had notary service here, which was convenient, well priced, quick and thoroughly professional. Also I ship a lot of UPS packages here and have experienced amazing kindness and great service. The woman who runs this store somehow manages to get young employees that are polite, helpful, nice and smart! I never have had to wait more than a moment and when I need a little assistance on closing a box or figuring things out, ive always been grateful to receive their kindness as they are truly willing to help make the shipping easier. UPDATE: I posted my review on a Saturday and the following Monday I received an email from the store owner explaining what had happened. (She had my email address because I had emailed my document for printing to the store.) The store charges a "$1.50 flat fee for printing from an email" (which I consider to be very reasonable) in addition to the regular copy costs. In the case that I describe below, that fee was multiplied by the number of copies rather than being added on just once. In my mind, the real test of a business isn't the absence of mistakes--we ALL make them--but how they respond when one happens. In this case, I'm satisfied with the resolution that was offered to me and feel like they've regained my respect. I'd feel very comfortable using their services again. ORIGINAL POST: The folks at this store have been helpful and pleasant in the past--nothing but good things to say about them and I was thinking about leaving a five-star review--but I just had a really unfortunate printing experience. I'm visiting from out of town and don't have a USB drive with me, so I emailed a 42-page pdf from the parking lot and went in to have it printed. The clerk asked if I wanted all the pages and, of course, I said yes. Unfortunately, she didn't mention ahead of time that it would be $1.50 per page if she printed from the document that I had emailed and it didn't cross my mind to ask. Black and white copies are usually inexpensive. As I waited for the pages to print, I noticed a sign on the wall above the copier: $.09 for self-service and $.14 for full-service copies. I expected to pay the full-service price and I was astounded when she said the bill came to $63.00. I understand that a clerk is under no obligation to mention a price beforehand or to suggest an inexpensive option over an expensive one and I understand that the time the clerk took to open my document and send it to the printer is valuable. I would have been happy to pay a reasonable surcharge to cover the emailed-document printing service, but, somehow, this fee seems outrageous. Initially, it felt like a money issue, but I realize now, for me, it's really one of respect. I won't even give this place one star! Tip for the rude owner who has absolutely no compassion for the people who are having the toughest of times as a direct result of Covid , maybe you should change your mailbox contract , that might allow for certain instances to be refundable ones. This is not a one size fits all and there are businesses that are making exceptions to help the people who are suffering from the pandemic and you are definitely not one of those companies. Greetings so unbecoming. My husband and I had moved from Bakersfield to Arroyo grande because he was supposed to have started a new job when that didn't work out we had to move back to Bakersfield. We never even used our mailbox not once and tried to get a refund during the first week we obtained it. We are both on unemployment we were laid off as a direct result of Covid we are not receiving our unemployment checks, and the rude owner of the franchise simply referred me to the contract that she typed up before the pandemic and how it it put implies that we will not be receiving any refunds. I think this is bad business. The $90 that we just wiped our Hiney's with would've come in handy when feeding our children. read more

I have been here a number of times to drop off packages and scan documents. Each time went smoothly. Fast and easy. Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience this week in which I had to go in 3x to have three pages scanned onto my USB properly. It was upsetting that it took 3 trips (with a newborn!) to the store to have the documents scanned and moreover the two employees who did it incorrectly never took responsibility for their error. I don't understand the unfavorable reviews here. I'm in the AG store several times a week. Staff is ALWAYS super-helpful (I'm elderly; staff offers to help me load heavier deliveries onto my roof rack without even being asked.) I'm usually greeted by name and a smile when I enter the establishment. Earlier this month I shipped a family heirloom vintage cedar chest from The UPS Store in Arroyo Grande. I worked closely with Carolee who went out of her way to insure the chest would be packed in a single heavy-duty cardboard box. She turned the chest upside down in the packing box so that the beautiful legs would be protected. It arrived without a scratch at its destination in Chicago, a day earlier than estimated. My experience with Carolee and all the staff at this UPS Store is excellent. I highly recommend them. read more

Been here several times. Horrible customer service almost every time. Also been charged a different price 3 times for black and white copies, tried to explain the charge and was met with rudeness and different explanations each time from Internet charge (using a USB drive) to a "service fee." Out of town; in need of a secured box sent by my father; to be signed for was held a extra day and almost NOT given to me because I couldn't make it to the store when the owner was there. the manager; who wouldn't give me his name began to raise his voice; bc of the stress and the valuables I had in this shipment; I became furious and equally raised my voice. I shouldn't have started cussing but it was only when I threatened to call the police did he contact the OWNER of the store; who then ordered him to give my box to me. (I still paid a 10.00 pick up fee; which I thought was ludicrous after the experience I had.) I am a business owner; moved from the East Coast; and have NEVER experienced a problem such a this; esp. with a tracking number... and the phone- to which the package was linked to in my hand, after being told to give me what was lawfully mine; the manager had a smart comment stating "If you where a business owner, you would understand" I replied: "I AM a Business owner; which is why I know how things operate." I will never be back to this location & will go back to using FedEX and USPS; here in Arroyo Grande. read more

Reviews for UPS store on Grand on their local site & Yelp On 10/31/16 I took my computer to the UPS store at 1375 Grand Ave STE 103 in Arroyo Grande, CA 93420, to be sent to my computer repair person in Temecula CA. I was talking to an employee working in the store who asked if I wanted the package insured. I said yes and they said that I would need to purchase one of their boxes for the computer. As I was standing at the counter, the lady who managed the store, Carolee, was working with another gentleman, so she removed my computer from the scale to put his material on the scale. When she removed my computer from the scale she turned and went half way to the floor and then dropped my computer. I heard it make a loud noise when it hit the floor. I immediately said you dropped my computer. The manager Carolee Dasmann said: "no I did not". I saw Carolee Dasmann drop the computer right in front not me. I will testify under oath or pay for both of us to take a lie detector test any time. I paid for an extra box and I paid for insurance. They contacted my computer person who validated that the computer was damaged upon arrival. He said the computer had been dropped on the bottom of the computer because all of the computer components insides hang from the top of the computer and it was jarred loose and some parts broken. My claim was denied because they said we should have let them inspect it before it left my computer repair persons home in Temecula. I will never use UPS again and I ship lots of materials.
