We arrived five…read moreminutes prior to our scheduled time and stood in line because it was so very busy and there were no signs to come to the front or any other direction for passport appointments. When we arrived to the front of the line, we were very rudely told that we missed our appointment and they could not service us. They told us we were supposed to arrive 10 minutes early, which was not directed anywhere in the appointment confirmation and questioned us repeatedly why we did not come to the front of the line. The staff was extremely rude and uncompromising even after we clearly showed them our appointment times, and that we were indeed on time.

This place is a necessity; unfortunately they are the worst when it comes to mailing and receiving…read moreparcels and letters. I feel the reason for this is that they are so grossly understaffed. This unnecessary visit came as a result of a parcel I mailed on Dec. 4th to Virginia with tracking. The tracking to this date shows it has never left Pittsburgh! Forget trying to get someone on their website phone number. I believe they have it shut off for the holidays! So I asked the nice clerk which is the only positive point I will give this review that since (1) I am unable to file a claim for it since I didn't insure it. (Item was only $20.00 but who knew?) and (2) they need the tracking number to look it up which I left at home, I asked what was the best way for me to send this replacement to my friend in Virginia. Seems to me that if you pay more for their services your guarantee of it arriving safely increases. For instance. Insure it for $50.00 and keep your bill of sale. Else send it express mail for $20.00 (small manila envelope) that comes with $50.00 automatic insurance. She advised I should just send it first class and insure it for $50.00. I asked for Priority mail and get this-Even though it costs more comes with insurance-it takes longer to get there than first class! Go figure! I paid my postage and kept my receipts. I told her I would return after Christmas to have her track my lost parcel. Maybe after the New Year their toll free number will have someone who will pick up. Still of all things given you are better off sending it Fed Ex or UPS. They will guarantee receipt but you pay a hefty price-tag for their services. So for now I have stood in enough 30 minute lines to get my parcels out early to the folks I that are out of town. Mail can come exceptionally late at times and either your mail will end up in someone else's box or vice versa. Still we need their services so what else can one do. I only hope this parcel makes it to Virginia as I was told in three days.

Also tells me when I tell him it's ridiculous I didn't hear from anyone in over a month "I agree to disagree". They look like you do plenty of business, so taking my business elsewhere won't really affect them, but I just couldn't give them my business. There's a ton of competition out there, I'd suggest finding elsewhere to go.

I have rented a box at this store and conducted regular business with Bill Potus (the owner) literally from the day this store opened its doors. I have had countless items delivered there over the years. No matter how big or how heavy the delivered package is or how frequently a series of packages are arriving, Bill and his staff always treat me with respect, courtesy, and professionalism when I stop by to receive it. Furthermore, I have observed that he treats others with equal respect as well. I can't say enough about the service Bill and his staff provide this community. The new owner, Stephen, is an awesome hardworking individual who really cares about the customer experience. I had a damage claim I was trying to file with UPS (not the Bethel Park UPS store itself) and Stephen dialed them up and got the claims department on the line for me to talk to. I probably shop from there 3-4 times per week and the lines can be long but the location is clean and the employees have always been polite and efficient and Stephen is great. I was in the market for a short term business mailbox as a mailing address for a charity endeavor. The UPS store in South Park Shops was great to deal with and all of my letters/packages were delivered safely and were easy to pickup. I called Back Office Plus, got a live human on the phone who was very personable, and verified that I could get the document notarized today by 7 pm -- despite not even calling until just after 5 pm. I was the first customer there had some cards that I was sending out for Easter. They were a little heavier, so I was concerned that they may need a little bit extra postage on them so I asked the employee if he could tell me if they were OK and certainly the first couple he just grabbed them from the box that he has sitting next to him and shook them a little bit and went. Yeah, these are fine and I added some other others that needed stamps after I purchased them and I asked him to check these also he says " I don't have time for that"was only nine additional cards and he said" I'm starting to get a line" maybe two more people behind me constitutes a line but satisfying a customer is certainly a bigger deal for US government employee so I'm just saddened by the fact that he felt that he didn't have enough time after his little lunch break and he was probably worn out from you maybe lunch I was his first customer at 2:15 and he couldn't find the time to finish up my purchase so sad! He also recommend recommended that I find a post office that had more than one employee so he didn't have to strain himself doing this. Very unbelievable task of checking the weight of a card.!
