I've only really had one experience here, but it was pleasant one. I can tell that the guy who owns it pretty much runs the joint. I can also tell that he was probably born and raised in Eastie (or the areas surrounding) because he's got that chaaaming accent! He's awesome, will tell you everything you know about complex shipping and handling and if you're in a hurry, he will intuitively get your on your way, no questions asked! I took my computer from the case to place through the airport scanner and when I collected everything, or so I thought, I left the laptop behind. Thankfully the loss was in a secure area under TSA. Don't bring anything fragile in for shipping unless you want it to reach its destination smashed. Barely any bubble wrap, box too big, not enough packing peanuts, and the FRAGILE box had been dropped. You call yourselves professional shippers? Really? They are so stupid , poor service , no professional, I send a package on sep 22 and is October 9 almost a month ago they tell me is in ups California a day before and the next day they returned to Boston come on I pay $36 for 3 days shipping now they tell me I have to pay again if I want to send it back ajajaja yeah right? Used this service to have an item shipped from the lost and found at Boston Airport. They must do this often because TSA emailed me some documents to fill out, I emailed them to UPS. They called me the same afternoon with pricing and I had my item in the timeframe chosen. Was seamless when I was expecting hassle to get my lost item back. Thanks TSA and UPS. read more

UGHHHH. I moved to East Boston and I have to ship a million things a week and this is the only UPS in Eastie. So unfortunately I have to come here and bend over and just take it if I need to ship something UPS. Sometimes I'll eat the $3.50 toll cost and go to Boston just to avoid this place out of principle. One extra star for the shop owner/guy at the counter who remained friendly and smiling as I openly hated on him for ripping me off. Issues: I came here once before a while ago with a package. It was already taped and such but he was like, no, let me make it more stable. And I was like thanks!!! So he opened it up, stuffed some newspapers in, and put exactly 5 strips of tape on it. Then he charged me between $4-5 [I don't really remember] and I was like umm....what? I didn't know you were going to charge me. It was fine before. And he just shrugged, smiling, and I was like FINE. You're lucky I'm expensing this. Fast forward to today. I call the store and ask - if I have a UPS label, can I print it there? And he's like sure of course we can print labels! I show up and I ask, can i just email this to you for you to print? And he's like sure, but here, you can just log into your email yourself! And he leads me over to the computer and I do so, and print it. I go up to pay and he's like that'll be $2.60 for the print out. And I'm like WHAT?? I look over and there's a sign that says $4 for an hour. I was on the computer for ONE minute. I'm like, um, your math is fcked up. And he was like, no, I'm giving you a deal not charging you $4. I'm pissed, because he obviously steered me away from emailing the label to him to print so he could charge me the $2 for just touching his computer. Then, I put the box on the table and he looked at it [it was untaped], and started reaching for the tape and I was like NO. I GOT THIS. I needed exactly one piece of tape and I brought my own. I was prepared. I know each UPS is individually owned. I understand that you need to make money. But as a consumer, it really pisses me off getting nickel and dimed like that. At least the owner is somewhat polite while he's charging me for every single tiny damn thing. So 2 stars. But honestly, when I lived in Allston, that UPS did everything I just mentioned for free. It's a stark contrast. Avoid if possible, go to USPS. read more

Sold me a 20X20 box. Just checked the shipping receipt. I paid to ship a 21X21 box. It grew in size? Magic! Over $3.00 for fuel surcharge added to the bill. Over $7.00 for Delivery Area Surcharge. Way more than the amount I received online. I feel like I was gouged. I think I'll stick with USPS. read more

Terrible. I feel totally ripped off. I shipped a gift to NH and they charged me twice what the stupid thing cost. I could drive to NH and back twice for the amount of gas I could have purchased! Just terrible. And more than half of what they charged me was for packaging! read more

If I could give 10 stars to The UPS Store in East Boston I would. I have used them always for mailing packages and they are great. But use them for printing, I do events and need flyers and Bijal was so helpful and his staff Wendy and Denise. I am sure I drove him crazy. But he was so helpful and kind. The printing was perfect and they took there time cutting them because I had to use them in a frame. I also had invitations made for a party and the were great. I was hopeful when I saw that I could upload my wedding programs on the UPS website and get them printed for next day pickup. Except when I went in to get them I was told to come back later when the manager was there because apparently he's the only one that could help me. So I came back when I was told to, and the manager was there but said he had never even heard about my order. He said he could print it while I waited but I didn't have the time to wait so I said I'd come back the next day and walked out. Apparently they took that to mean I no longer wanted the order because when my fiancé went in the next day to try again they said they still hadn't done it because I had "stormed out." That's always a safe bet... when your customer seems upset...just do the opposite of what she asked you to do twice already... Terrible. Nothing good about this place. read more

I started going to this UPS store a few months ago when I opened a personal mailbox here. They're fantastic! - The facility is very clean and well-organized, the staff is very friendly and always recognizes me and remembers my mailbox number without me saying a word. It's also pretty cool that they send an email whenever I receive a package. Big fan of this place. read more

I would give this place ZERO stars if it would let me. Negative stars might be better and a phone call to the state rep and BBB. I just received my claims check from this UPS store for my lost package. It is for not even half the correct amount and to top it off minus the $140 shipping fee i originally paid. Not only did they screw up the package but they screwed up the insurance form. I even left them a sales price for the item and they still screwed it up. When i asked why i wasn't given my shipping charge back too they said, we did but it doesnt cover gas, labor, insurance, tax, overtime, stamp charge, etc etc....WHAT A SCAM. They told me to call UPS 800 number. I did (like a chump) and (are you sitting down?) UPS corporate customer service told me theres nothing they can do, it was a privately owned franchise. Wow! Imagine a Mcdonalds killing someone w food poisoning and corporate passing the buck on the private owner. To top ALL this off. I go to cash the check and the ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED!....mind you i have all the documentation proving their incompetence. Of course I made an appointment with my lawyers office. I never write reviews but I had such an amazing experience with this store I had to write about it. I lost my purse and all of its contents at the Boston airport. When it was found, the airport recommended I contact this UPS store and they would pick it up and ship it to me in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I immediately contacted the store and spoke to Karla. She arranged to pick up my purse at the airport and called me after it was retrieved. She provided me with all of the shipping costs up front so there were no surprises. My purse arrived on time with its contents safely wrapped in bubble wrap. I highly recommend this store for their professionalism and amazing customer service. read more
