I visited the UPS Store in Carlsbad Village to return my Uverse cable box....VICTORY! But the cable thing is another story... :) Their system was down (Uverse) and the rep said she wasn't able to process any returns at that time. So really bad experience with the man who shipped my items. First of all no greeting, I say "hi I'm here to", and he cuts me off and says "I know why you're here", with an attitude. Places my box I was returning to spectrum so hard on the scale a piece flys off! I can't make this up. Didn't get his name but Hispanic with glasses...so rude. Will never go here again. read more

I had paid $100 to ship a package from Carlsbad to Northern California, for next day airs, dropping off the package at 9am on Friday and was assured it would arrive by Saturday 5pm. I had specifically asked the clerk if it was going to get there on Saturday since I was driving up on Sunday and it wouldn't make sense to ship it if there was a chance of it not arriving on Saturday. I had called UPS/Carlsbad and spoke with the assistant manager, who proceeded to tell me it too bad, since its covid and its not guaranteed. Why would I pay 100 bucks to ship something which is not guaranteed to get there next day air. That is blatantly FALSE ADVERTISING, you cannot call it next day air if it is really 4 day slow AIR. The assistant manager Raymond seem proud that there are no refunds due to covid, and was unapologetic about the clerk falsely stating it was going to be delivered next day. I would ask others who have similar experiences like this with UPS to beware and feel free to hit me up and maybe we can fix this case of corporate greed and incompetent management. read more

The team here at the UPS store is so friendly. I've come by here a couple of times to send out a couple of things, and they normally always find me the best rate for the package I'm sending out. There have been a couple of times where I've had to stop by for work related issues, and they treat me just like a normal customer, no special request or anything because I'm in my work clothes. Their printing services are WAY overpriced! They charge $0.75 for the first 5 pages of anything you print - basic, black and white!! That's $3.75 for 5 pages. I even called ahead of time and there was no mention of this. Be warned! Won't be coming here again. read more

Although our service need was minimal, the owner's took care of every single thing (and then some) to make this an exceptional visit. We just needed a Notary service. The owner not only took care of that immediately, he offered copies and postage/postal service to ensure our docs were in the mail today. We purchased A large item when we were on vacation in Carlsbad. We needed to send it home to Wyoming and we went into the store. AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL BOTH TIMES I'VE BEEN HERE. First time I was dropping off a package to a mailbox, and stupid UPS girl said that that customer no longer had a box there. I left, then had to return again because there actually was an existing box, and the stupid UPS girl gave me the wrong info. Next time I went there, I was the stupid girl to think that I would get any kind of decent service. I had an account number to ship UPS, but the big dummies wouldn't accept the package and told me to drive 20 minutes to San Marco (hub). LIVED!! I own a PO Box and pay big money to have the contents forwarded to me with tracking numbers. Apparently you can't get the tracking info. unless 1 particular employee is there! So here I sit on Saturday and since the employee is out, I can't get any tracking info until MONDAY! How on earth is that giving me the ability to track my package?? The worker Tessa SCREAMED at me when I questioned this logic. She gave 10 excuses and when I questioned each one she would rudely cut me off and yell at me. Not even just raise her voice, YELL. I even asked her a few times to stop cutting me off so I can get my point across. I finally told her I'd record the call to play for her boss and she went ballistic. So - I paid $15 to forward a letter (vs $1) and I can't track it even though I paid for it. This seems like a MASSIVE federal issue to me. She doesn't see what the issue is. Apparently I should have called earlier if it "was that important to me." To add....when I called in to set up forwarding 3 weeks ago it never made it to the woman who handles mail forwarding. he took my credit card # so what the heck happened to that paper with my information on it?? Stike 2! Beginning to think some financial shadyness is happening at the store. I've never reviewed anything on Yelp or elsewhere but I'm so livid it's warranted. This complaint will be sent to the USPS and The UPS Store corporate. How on earth this employee still works there after 3 years is beyond me. read more

We had what we thought was a decent experience until day two of taking care of business at their location. Their crappy computer with a horrible keyboard is $15 per hour with NO sign to tell you this. Yesterday we came in and did our work and they did not charge us. Today upon paying for our prints, they tell us as we are being rung up for computer time . Ok. We are good to pay for today but they decided to charge us for both days ANYWAY! Um, not cool. We had our computer with us and had we known were being charged we would have gone to STARBUCKS to do everything but print. read more

I had a package shipped to this store for pick up in person. The shipping was paid for and it was not COD. I picked it up within 4 hours of it being delivered there. They wanted a $5 fee to pick it up. No other carrier does this, not the USPS, Fedex nor DHL. I filed a complaint against UPS corporate with the BBB. Their response was that the local UPS licensee can charge whatever extra fees they want to. Quite frankly, it's a scam pure and simple because neither the shipper nor myself agreed to this extra fee in advance. If that's how this store wants to operate, then I suggest you avoid it altogether and go with other carriers that don't allow such a scam. read more
