Terrible experience. Notary service is available there according to their website but the guy at the counter refused to do it when I visited because "he is not comfortable". Fine. Then I asked him whether he could explain it to my counterparty who was on the phone with me, as I did not really understand why he couldn't it, and he said "no it is none of my business". Whoa! Fastest service ever. Sure the time didn't hurt... Little past 9am on Wednesday. I went to drop off a return to Amazon with opened box (I surely don't have those industrial tapes laying around, do you?) and shipping label in hand. As I walked in, got greeted right away. The phone rings as I and the clerk approaches the counter. He apologizes and gets the phone. Something about notarizing. Apparently he is a notary. While still on the phone, he looks at the box. Looks at the papers I am holding. Gets the paper from me. Puts the bar coded paper (if you ever returned anything to Amazon, you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, don't worry about it, it doesn't pertain to this review.) in the box, tapes the box, folds the return label to fit the sticky label holder thingy, label the box. and BOOYA! I'm done. I went to this store to ship an AT&T U-verse receiver. The guy behind the counter was very curt. He took the receiver in back and left the AT&T's shipping box on the counter. I threw the box in the near by trash can while I waited for my receipt. He returned from the rear with the receipt and asked what I did with the box. I told him I threw it in the trash can. If you don't know anything about these receivers ... they are very small. He dug the box out of the trash can and insisted I take it home with me. I thought you got be kidding! Are you telling me your trash cans aren't for customers scrapes? Do you expect all your customers to take their scrap trash home? This is a cost of business to provide trash receptacles for customers. I could have just walked out without taking it, but I complied. I called the store later to discuss this ridiculous policy with the owner. He told me it's the store policy and HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME! This store is not customer oriented. I came here with two objectives: to get a passport photo taken (camera was broken) and with a pink slip to pick up a package that had a missed delivery attempt. Marvin gave me such a difficult time. I did not have my id with me and he sort of laughed like i was stupid to have not brought it with me, he needs a serious workshop in etiquette and customer service because his behavior was not only terribly unhelpful but also highly offensive. read more

I was surprised to learn today that this location actually does offer notary services. I went in last week (after verifying online that the location should offer notary services), and was told that notary service is not available at this location. When I mentioned to the worker that it said on their website that they provide notary services, he responded with each UPS store is different, that they do not provide any notary services, and I could try the Key Bank (that incidentally was about to close) that was nearby instead. I went back into the UPS store today to fax my document (I ended up waiting an extra day, and just going to my bank to get it notarized for free when they opened). While I was waiting for my fax to go through, a customer asked one of the workers if they could notarize something for them. This worker was helpful, and provided the customer with correct and specific information - i.e., notary services are available during certain time-frames, and there are limitations with the types of documents that can be notarized. I ended up letting the group of workers know what had been told to me last week (that there were no notary services at all for this location), so hopefully this worker won't give out further inaccurate information to other customers. read more

I had to print off ONE (1) piece of paper, a shipping label from Amazon, and they charged me $5 dollars to do so. This is an absolute rip off aimed only at taking money from people. They know that customers will come in assuming it is no big effort to print out a 1 page label, and they can take advantage of them by charging this outrageous fee. I will never set foot in this place again. Refused to provide an envelope (the same one UPS will send you hundreds of for free) and when asked how much it would cost to print my label, they responded with $5! I've spent months trying to decide whether to write this review, thinking that maybe there's some way in which the lousy experience I had was just my fault -- caveat emptor, y'know. I've usually used the excellent UPS Store at 605 N High St, where I've never had a problem the ten or so times I've used it. There was a big event blocking the store this particular time, so I went to the W 5th location. The single employee at the store was on the phone when I came in (with my item to be shipped). He didn't acknowledge me for the first few minutes, then looked over at me and rolled his eyes in a commiserating way (as in "this call is lasting for-ever!") -- OK, fine. I stood there another few minutes until he got off. At the N High location, whoever's working there always puts my item on a scale and grabs a tape measure, then gives me a verbal estimate so that I know what I'm getting into. At this location, however, he grabbed my item, took it to the back, started wrapping it, and put it in a ridiculously oversized box with probably five gallons of packing peanuts. This is actually not helpful, since the peanuts will settle and my item would bounce around more than if it had been in an appropriately-sized box with half the peanuts. Incidentally, I got to witness the packing job: he invited me to the back of the store to show me how he was packing it, and when he wrapped it in five (no kidding) layers of thick bubble wrap I said "y'know, that's probably overkill for this thing -- it's really OK" and he said "no, this is how we have to do it." And when he poured in the ocean of peanuts I opened my mouth, but realized that I was on his turf and I'd have to be, you know, a jerk to tell this guy how to do his job even if he was terrible at it. Why didn't I stop him? I don't know. I was sort of shell-shocked, I guess. Only once he'd hyper-wrapped and over-packed it did he tell me the price -- about double what I'd prepared for. I balked at the price (I'm not proud of this -- what's he going to do, cut me a deal?), and he said in a voice evoking Matt Stone's brilliant performance in Baseketball "I'm sorry...", in a way that made it clear that I should just give up, hand over the money and give up. So, I did. Sixty bucks, where larger/more expensive stuff had shipped farther for cheaper from the North High location. Why didn't I just say "that box is huge, it's actually packed worse than if you'd just used an appropriate box with the right amount of loose fill, and now I want you to unpack this and give me my item back?" It was partly because my wife was waiting in our car in 90-deg weather and was tired of driving around, and partly because I just wanted the experience to be over. I guess by some logic it's my fault, really, for failing to reject lousy customer service and price gouging. Maybe it's a cultural thing -- this place is in a rich suburb, after all. Maybe the norm there is "shut up and take my money," and this store can do just fine as it is. read more

TL;DR: Back at home without having shipped my boxes, thanks to UPS screwing over their franchises and this franchise screwing me over. (You can't pay to print your PDF if it is a shipping label.) This UPS store prints documents of any size at reasonable per-page rates! They will print from PDF, print from USB, have multiple printers, etc., just like a FedEx store. But, after having driven out to the store and carried three large boxes into their store, they refused to print my document at any cost. The PDF I had been planning to print contained the multiple shipping labels I needed to ship my boxes, generated by Amazon's return system. Taking the money to print my document "would put [the franchise] out of business." Huh? It made no sense to me as a customer -- I obviously didn't know their policy or would have printed elsewhere before carrying in my boxes. Basically, UPS makes it so that the franchise doesn't get paid for shipping my boxes if they're already labeled. So, this franchise made a policy to reject a print job if it contains shipping labels. I have a feeling that not all franchises would react so extremely and actually "send me packing". I will now specifically avoid this franchise when I eventually do need to ship something they can make more money on. Based on other Yelp reviews, I will probably try out the High St. location. read more

I usually use the UPS location at 605 High St (which is fantastic) but had an Amazon return to drop off and was going to pass by this location so decided to drop off here. Although parking was easier at this location, the service was not up to par. Upon entering, I was greeted and I mentioned I had a drop off. She just took the box (not scanning it) and said thanks. I then asked for a receipt showing it was brought in. They said they are too busy to give a receipt and that it is there policy not to provide one. There was no one else in the store and the one employee was just standing at the register when I entered so they didn't seem busy. I again asked if they can give me anything to show it was dropped off and they again declined saying they disabled drop off receipts in their system. Yes, UPS would track it with the tracking number on the label but what is to say something happens to it before it is entered into the system when picked up by the driver? They did not scan it in when I was there so how would you prove a loss if you have no proof of them accepting the package? I found this unacceptable and will not return to this location. One note about the difference between this and the High St location. The High St location staff have always provided me with a drop off receipt for all packages. I didn't even have to ask, they just did it. They have always been friendly, professional and very helpful. If you have a choice between locations, go to High St. As I said before, the only thing that can be a pain at the High St location is the parking at times but the exemplary service is definitely worth it. read more

They have zero customer service skills, don't seem to be very knowledgable about the services they offer or are unable to articulate the services they offer. They are not at all friendly. If you need to ship around Cbus go here! It's My Favorite / Go-to UPS and I ship items pretty regularly. This one is independently & family owned (I believe) and the family members I've met that work there are the greatest people...especially one of them, but I don't see her there often. The staff makes you feel welcomed and valued for choosing to ship with them. By that I mean it's got a small town feel, and they take notice of those whom ships their regularly and are appreciative. If I forgot tape or padding they've helped me out every time. Tape more so than packing, and many times they've helped save me money by suggesting another box size than the one I brought in. For Ex. I was shipping a jacket, and needed it overnighted...Staff showed me a smaller box that worked saved me legit $70. It was great and they've been other times suggestions from staff have saved money shipping. Highly Recommend read more

First of all, the parking lot at their new location is a joke. There's ample parking but it's poorly designed and not marked. Secondly, they charge $5 to print a label off. FIVE DOLLARS. FOR A PIECE OF PAPER. I had an Amazon return which I HAD to take to a UPS store. My printer is broken so I decided to just try to print it out at the store. I expected to pay a small fee but definitely not $5. I told the employee "$5 is a little steep for that" and he said "Uh not really. Our manager doesn't like when people use the printer to print labels not sold from us." I told him that since I had an Amazon return I didn't have any other option but to take it to a UPS store. He stated that they were not a corporate store so that didn't matter to them. I told him to just forget it and I'll take it somewhere else to ship it. He stood there and tried to argue with me about it as I walked out of the door. Never again will I utilize this UPS store. I will go out of my way to ship things rather than give a single penny to this greedy store, rude workers, and cheapskate owner. read more
