This location continues to suck. Went to send something today using a UPS account number for a company I do business with and was told I have to go to Palatine because they can't ship something using a UPS number. They would have to log out their bosses account on the system and log back in. What??? Isn't this the UPS STORE? And why is that my problem? So, now I (your customer) have to drive 30 minutes to Palatine so your boss isn't inconvenienced? EVERYTIME I try this location I have a problem. They need to take some lessons from the McHenry location which is amazing and has great customer service. read more

Brought in a large desktop PC along with multiple monitors and several peripherals. I'd never used a 3rd party to pack a shipment, and was a bit nervous given the value, and importance of this making it safely across the country. I believe it was Evan who took care of quoting while the gentleman shipping came over to assess best/safest way - assuring me they'd get there in one piece. The package arrived, and I'm told was packed amazingly, with zero chance they'd get damaged (just as promised). We asked Brian to print a number of booklets for customer presentations and we forgot to pick them up on Saturday (doh!), and he drove to our house on Saturday night to drop them off because he knew we needed them before the store opened early Monday morning! On August 4th I dropped the package at this UPS location. I received no receipt. The woman who accepted the package informed me quite rudely that "this is consolidated so I have no control over it". Amazon has never received the package and I have no proof that the items have been sent. read more

We've ordered brochures from here that come out beautifully and also had a few reports bound as well. The owner at this UPS location does an excellent job with quick service and extremely fair pricing. Our organization has used his business for outfield banner signage and he has always been unbelievably fair with pricing and extremely quick with his service. This location has been nightmare for years. If you ask for a receipt the woman will say "We don't give receipts!" Or "It doesn't matter anyway, you have the tracking number" (Note: Every other UPS store in the area offers a receipt without the consumer having to ask) If you have a prepaid label the guy puts it on the scale and says "You're done." When you ask for a receipt he acts as if you requested him to climb Mount Everest. Don't expect any pleasantries from either of them. The only smiling face you see is the loose dog they have roaming the store. read more

I went to UPS to ship a package to my son in St. Louis. I of course asked for the tracking number and the guy who waited on me said it was on the receipt . Well wgen thE package didn't arrive the next day I tried the number on the receipt and lo and behold it wasn't a tracking number. I called the store and spoke to a woman who said I was given the tracking number and I repeated it back to her and of course it wasn t the tracking number. She gave me the status of the package which arrived in St Louis at 3am but was not delivered because of inclement weather . Well there was no baweather anywhere near St. Louis . So then the next day came and went with out a delivery until 840pm when the office has been closed for hours. The package instructions stated to deliver to office because this is a secure building with no access other than through the office . After waiting an hour for customer service, I was told it would be delivered again the next day. I waited till 3pm and I called the ups store to ask for any suggestions and I was told "it's our busy season".. we can have it rerouted to a pick up point . Really 3 days later and now my son has to be inconvenienced more? 32 dollars and now my package isn't going directly where it should be ? No tracking number, and using the busy season as an excuse ... lack of caring enough to figure out where the package is pretty poor customer service .three days later and still no answer on when the package will be delivered . Worst customer service ever. Stopped in to ship a package. Absolutely no one was in the lobby. No customers, no workers. I called out not once but twice saying "HELLO!" I even had time to look up their phone number thinking maybe they'd hear the phone ring. Instead, I thought I'd peak around to the back thinking they couldn't hear me or were out back smoking, I don't no. Not stepping into the back area mind you, just at the threshold. I had been there a good 4 minutes. That's when I saw a door open and I could read the front which said "Restroom". The woman comes out and starts yelling at me "YOU CAN'T BE BACK HERE!" I said "Well, no one was out front." Then she yells, "I HAD A MINUTE SO I THOUGHT I'D GO TO THE BATHROOM!" Which I would've been fine with because I do understand. However, there was no reason to yell at me and make me feel like it was my fault nobody was at the counter. I grabbed my package and left. I don't need to be treated poorly when I can drive 5 minutes down road and go to another UPS store. Which is what I did. The Woodstock store had two employees. Someone immediately helped me and ANOTHER employee (imagine that, two employees) helped the person in line behind me. I will NEVER (yes, now I'm yelling) go back to the Crystal Lake UPS store. I requested a receipt when I dropped off my Amazon.com prepaid return package. Because this was an expensive item, I wanted proof that the parcel was dropped off in case there was a problem. However, I was told (rather abruptly) by the woman at the counter, that 'we don't give receipts'. I know that it's possible to get drop off receipts, because other UPS stores similar to this one (Fox River Grove, Randall Rd. in CL) do this. I just visited this UPS store and was expecting a positive, friendly experience because of the neighborhood-like setting but I was wrong. There were only two women in the store at the time I needed to ship a package. I needed to mail a package second day to Phoenix, Arizona for my company and one of the employees told me they do not accept "codes" for UPS and then told me the charge would be around $58 for second day shipping. The customer service here was not good, maybe I caught them on a bad day. I decided to ship my package at FedEx Office instead on route 14 in Crystal Lake. What a difference! I walked in and they greeted me, they packaged the item very efficiently and took my company FedEx Code and only charged an estimated $14 for a second day delivery to Phoenix, AZ. FEDEX Office on 14 in Crystal Lake is very organized, has very friendly staff, and it always offers a solid level of service. What a dramatic difference in my experience! read more

The owner (Brian) and workers are always friendly and helpful and make me feel appreciated! I since have moved out of Crystal Lake but still pop in as needed when I'm in town. Off my usual route so stopped in at this UPS store to drop off a couple packages. OMG! Other reviews are correct! AVOID this place if you are dropping off a UPS package and want a receipt! Owner went off on me on how the receipt means nothing he is not responsible for any items dropped off for UPS at his UPS store! He stated he has no affiliation with UPS I should drop package in a UPS box! If you drop a package off at any business they are responsible for that item in their possession in their building until picked up by carrier! I go to UPS store on Algonquin Rd all the time never an issue! Went back there after dealing with with terrible UPS Store in CL they agreed with me I will be putting a call to UPS also! 800 742 5877 I think UPS should not give this CL store owner the right to use their great name when he blatantly denies affiliation with them! Really needs to take a class on business responsibilities pertaining to items he has in his possession in his store too! Anger management also obviously does not like taking in UPS packages!
