Certain employee only handles domestic shipping and not capable of providing price quotes or answering questions regarding international shipment. It's a good idea to call ahead and ask if there's an employee who's at work to handle overseas shipment before coming in the store to save time, especially if you have a busy life. It is not a good UPS store. Every time I have visited this store I had a bad experience. Yesterday, I was in hurry and need to print 2 pages of pdf. First there was no any help. Two guys (one might be manager) busy handling customers. I had do everything myself, swipe the credit card, navigate to UPS printing systems, connect to my external drive, figure out correct application to open my files, select correct printer and so on. The more time you spend figuring out the problem, the more money you pay. Finally, I managed to print my 2 black & white pages. It hardly took me 2 to 3 minutes, but I was billed for 10:08 minutes of computer time, plus 2 pages of print costing me $3.87 (just for 2 pages of print). But the problem did not end there, when I check my bank portal for credit card bill, UPS has charged me US$5.00. I tried to reach the store phone number, printed on my print receipt there is no one to pick customer call. Great service UPS, Keep it up! You just lost a customer!! read more

I've been a pleased customer of this UPS store for over a year, and the staff has always been friendly and professional. It's great to be able to drop off returns from Amazon there, and usually they are speedy and quick. I'm almost always in and out dropping off parcels in less than five minutes. Not sure about the prices for shipping because usually my packages have prepaid shipping labels courtesy of the online stores that I return purchases from. Grateful that this store is near my home and in this convenient shopping center. read more

I rate this UPS store with one star because there is no way to select negative numbers. The staff service is terrible. Customers are waiting while one staff member remains behind the curtain. When she comes in, her first remark is to ask customers to buy extra boxes. To save time, I strongly suggest to go to UPS stores nearby. read more

Our carrier is alway's on time, alway's has a smile and I know is an asset to the U.P.S. My heart went out to him especially during the heat wave. He's running with bulky packages in this unbeatable heat and high humidity. Please add air conditioning in their vechicles. The U.S.P.O. has them. What's the problem? I go here pretty often to drop off packages with prepaid labels or send packages when I don't have a prepaid label. Both cases, every time I go there they are always friendly and quick. When I have a prepaid label they're always offering to print me off a receipt and take the packages from me so I'm not struggling to hold them all! In the other case they've always explained the different shipping methods and cost to me. I'll continue going here. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. 2/8/17 Update: the owner responded (see below) she was also the one who handled my circumstances, so apparently they (the store) reply to make a spin on the actual events or policies they have in place. I had to argue with them to get two pieces of tape and the owner Melinda said "just because you paid for other packing and boxes here doesn't mean we provide tape. If I give you two pieces of tape then I'm cheating everyone else." Again, their responses seem non genuine and are more or less to save face. Beware. Original post ------------------- I recently moved to the area and started using the UPS Store here. One of the odd things about this store is their policy on tape. Under no circumstances will they provide tape to seal a box ( 2 long pieces)for free with the purchase of a box. They want you to also pay for packing it even if it doesn't need it. If you need a 12x12x12 box you pay roughly 4 dollars for it and to seal it up you either buy tape from them or pay an additional 8 - 9 dollars for them to do it. The owner who lacks any sort of customer service skills explained to me that they had a trial run; leaving tape out for people and they were stealing it. Now, after being an UPS store customer at various locations they normally do not leave tape out but will tape the box up for you if your purchase one - not here. This place doesn't understand the cost of doing business. In my exact case I brought 4 items in that needed shipped, all had prepaid labels. 3 of those items needed boxes and packaged and the third only needed a box. I had to practically beg the owner to give me .25 cents worth of tape for the stray box which she reluctantly agreed to after I called another UPS store (Vienna, VA) and asked if they can provide two pieces of tape after purchasing a box and paying for three other items to be packaged. Also, it's important to note outside of this, be expected to be treated rudely by the younger blonde women when you come in. She will never great you and will barely acknowledge you. The owner will great you and just be rude. Seems to me maybe her business isn't doing as well as she wants so the customers must bear the brunt of their personas. Advice to ownership: 1.) hire pleasant people 2.) provide tape (behind the counter) to seal boxes purchased at your store 3.) follow a similar set of business practices that other UPS stores set in order to be more consistent with the UPS message striving for customer service For me, I will no longer be giving my business to this UPS store. I suggest the one in Vienna, VA or FedEx Office in Merrifield. Bill at FedEx provides outstanding service and FedEx Office is owned by FedEx so you won't have to deal with cheap owners. read more

Embarrassingly unprofessional... I came to the Ups store near Safeway on Nutley Street to mail a Christmas package. I was waiting for a few minutes behind a customer who eventually had to leave because the machine they needed to use to process his order was broken. First bad sign. Then, one of the two guys in the shop said 'just a minute', then took off to the back room, while keepin up a non-Ups conversation with the other guy. After awhile the 2nd guy said 'sorry, i'll be with you in a bit', then began to look through photos on his digital camera while I waited there. Second bad sign. He finally put down his camera and asked me why I hadn't filled out the form yet. It seems they were reluctant to quote you a price, as if it was some kind of effort on their part. So I finally got a quote which turned out to be MUCH higher than good old USPS. Then it all clicked - no wonder the place is always empty, bet the guys there like it that way. So bottom line, skip it and go to the post office - the Pickett road station has friendly and efficient staff too. read more

My husband and I just made a cross-country move and the people at this store were fantastic! Every member of the staff with whom we dealt was helpful, professional, and knowledgeable - they helped us pack and send numerous packages in a way that saved us lots of time and made us very confident about the process. When we unpacked the items at the other end, everything came through beautifully and was delivered on time or even ahead of schedule. I have already recommended them to friends, family, and co-workers. If we were still in the Fairfax area, we would definitely use their services again! read more

I bought a amazon local deal to use at this specific store and could not use since they did not have the shipping boxes i needed (where all other UPS stores say the boxe I need are their best seller). I love going to this store because the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. They are helpful about finding the best options for getting packages delivered fast for the best price. I prefer going here instead of any other place because there is rarely a line and even if there is, they quickly get each customer on their way. The store is clean and easily accessible with ample parking in the lot adjacent to the store. read more

I usually have a better experience in this location hence the two stars. I walked in today around 6:20 to get a passport photo taken. The cashier behind the counter asked us what she could help us with and when I told her I wanted my photo taken she said "oh I don't think he'll be able to do that for you". I literally stood there surprised at what she said, while she walks to the back to talk to said individual. She then later comes back saying the manager was wrapping 3 heavy boxes up and would not be able to help me out and she said she didn't know how. At that point I said nvm and left, but I realized how long it would take for the manager to come out and help me. I was the only customer in the store. Could she not have helped him tape a box for 5 mins?? The store still had over 40 mins left to close. I was very disappointed with my experience today. I have been using this UPS since i got here. I went more than 10 times.Everything is fine, but when I go there for printing some documents, it exploits. They don't accept Cash to print documents so we have to swipe our card. First, they charge $5 just after you swipe your card and after that they charge total amount in another transaction. I stopped by the Pan Am UPS store this evening to return a package using a pre paid return label. I asked the clerk if they had a mailing pouch to use with my pre paid return label. He quickly pulled out a large padded envelope, pulled the cover strip off the tape, put my jacket inside and said to me your total is $3.71 He never told me the cost before he package it nor did he give me any option. When I then seemed surprised and irritated that he assumed I wanted to buy that envelope he appeared like he was going to unpackage it and use a different pouch that is usually used for overnight shipping. I told him to just leave it at that point since the envelope would have gone to waste. I didn't have a problem paying for the envelope that I was going to use, but did have a problem that I was never given an option or told how much it would be before he used it! Afterwards I went up to the manager who had clearly been listening to the event unfold. I explained what had happened and he looked at me with a disinterested look and said. "Sorry.". That's it??? OK, that's nice but I still paid for an envelope that I didn't need and never really asked to purchase. My advice Mr. UPS Manager... Work on your customer service beyond saying" hi" when someone walls in the door and train your employees better. Sincerely disappointed in my experience at this location. I needed to renew my passport so I went to get my passport picture taken at this particular ups store. From there I went to the Merrifield post office to submit the passport. The employee working at the merrifield post office was yelling at the customer ahead of me (I am not making this up) so I went back to the ups store for help. The employees were super friendly and helped me put the paperwork together and then I mailed it there. Great service all around. I would chose this particular ups store over the post office any day. read more

I wrote down the correct shipping address on the form they had me complete prior to sending the package (and I have a copy of said form to prove it). However, they apparently entered a completely different street and zip code when creating the shipping label. I only discovered this error because I stay on top of the tracking. UPS itself could not help me, since these stores are franchised, so I had to go back to the store itself and inform them of their own mistake. I didn't even get an apology for their lack of attention to detail. I paid $53 for this??? Never again. read more

Used to use this place but not any more. I was sent a package while I was on vacation so never realized it until I happened to talk to the sender 8 months later. When I went to the UPS Store they told me that they kept it for six months and then threw it out. I was amazed that they didn't send it back to the sender, or since I'd been there many times they could've typed my name into their computer and my contact info would've come right up, and they could have called me, but I guess it was easier to just throw away a $400 antique. As far as UPS itself is concerned they delivered it properly so the insurance coverage doesn't apply. Too bad for me. read more

This latest time I had to mail a very large package cross country, and the staff were thorough and made it all very easy. Pricing was as I expected. I went to this store to ship my Christmas packages. Looks like they have a few new faces here from last year. There was a line but it moved quickly, much faster than the post office. I received friendly service and all my options were given to me. It is a little more than the post office, but I was able to track my packages. The post office lost a package and had no idea were it was. The one gentleman even went out to help an older couple bring in there packages, wow what service. read more
