This is a convenient location for me to use. Like most UPS stores, the location has a small footprint. There are two associates available now, most of the time. They also offer many services, they are NOT the post office. Similar to being in line at a bank, customers usually need guidance and instructions to get what they want. And the staff can't rush customers. But they do deal with many rude customers. I go there not expecting a "fast food" experience. Since I am also at the USPS PO often, the service time there isn't any quicker. Same if you have to wait at FedEx for assistance. read more

You know I don't expect much for customer service to do an Amazon package return, but this store does not even meet any expectations. The folks at this store are very helpful, considerate and take the time to let you know what has to happen with your package. The store is small so things are a little cramped. Parking is simply horrible so they lost a star for that. Overally when you need to ship a box via UPS in Germnatown, this is the place to go. I went 30 minutes before closing time on a weekday and it wasn't busy inside their store. Both employees wore masks AND gloves. I was just returning an Amazon order with a QR code in my phone and it took them less than 3 minutes to handle everything safely and efficiently. Their were social distancing markers in the store and a sign emphasizing how customers have to wear masks before entering. All in all, quick, safe, friendly service which is crucial and vital during any time of year, especially a pandemic. read more

Hmm, reading the Yelp and Google Maps reviews and it looks like there is a trend...poor customer service. Had a horrible experience with the employee. He wanted to charge me $1 to put a strip of tape on the top of my shipping box. The month prior a woman helped me at another UPS store and said she would tape it up for me no problem. I completely understand there is a cost for tape but being a customer centered shipping business you'd expect that would be the cost of doing business. This is especially frustrating to be nickel and dimed for money since this isn't a standard practice I've experienced at other UPS stores. I've decided to stay with my Germantown family a few days longer but there's a package about to be delivered to my home in a few days. Thanks be to gawd for this online service. Creating an account in the UPS site is free and there's no charge if the package is sent to a nearby UPS Access Point (UPS store). Woohoo!!!! There is a $5-$6 charge if the package is redirected/mailed to another residential or business address. I cannot remember the exact charge. So FYI if curious. Awesome that there're many UPS Access Point locations so I just picked one near Lotte Supermarket - shop for snacks/goodies then drop by the UPS store. That was easy. This is a super small UPS store but still convenient for today's purpose. The young lady was quick and courteous too so I left happy. Great knowing that I have this option. read more

Sad. I went there with a laptop computer to have it packed and shipped. The clerk couldn't find a box that fit it. This is a pretty standard rectangular size. For a UPS store not to have this, is like a McDonalds not having french fries. He had already bubble wrapped it, and suggested if I can box it up, he could ship it out. I have to say, I won't be going back there! The staff was friendly but they charge you $1 if your package needs any extra tape. I walked in with an envelope that needed at most 6 inches of regular old tape to reinforce the seal. The lady that served me insisted on charging me $1 for the tiny bit of tape I needed! Claimed to have a working fax machine, and when we arrived after the owner said he received our (very important and time crucial) fax, it was blank. He went back and forth between a few lies, before finally saying his machine was broken and he can't even receive faxes. Went to the store to ship a turntable I had just purchased from Guitar Center. The item was in an open box so that the associate could package the item for me. The representative barely looked at the contents and told me it was OK, and that he was going to make sure they treated the item as 'fragile'. The item arrived damaged and I was charged an 80% restocking fee. I just reported this to UPS. A very poorly run operation. Was in there a few weeks ago and NO AIR CONDITIONING on a brutally hot day. Hey, stuff happens, but was in there yesterday and after carrying in my boxes I was asked if I was dropping off. Hummm... yes. We'll what he meant to say was sorry, our Internet has been out for 10 days and we cannot ship any packages. We can only accept packages that are ready to go. I was being generous giving this store a 1-star rating. Their "business" practices are just shady, suspect and horrible. When I was notified by the shipper that my package was delivered, I went to the store to pick it up. The "manager" informed me that he gave my package to one of their box holders (who has a lot of clients) since he didn't know who I was. He then told me to come back the next day because the box holder would return my delivery to the store. The "manager" was just too lazy to check the stores' emails. If he did, he would have known that I had sent one a few days earlier advising him of my anticipated delivery to their site, with my phone number and request to contact me when it arrived. Why do they give mail/packages to other people and how is that legal?? The "manager" running this place says he doesn't check their emails on a regular basis because he gets a lot of junk/spam emails. It was only when I contacted their corporate Customer Relations department and informed them of what this franchisee did, that my package was miraculously returned to the store for me to pick up the same day I was there. And the "manager" had the nerve to expect me to pay the $5 fee which I refused to pay. This is my second bad experience with this location and their poor business practices and horrible customer service. The first bad experience with them was when I called and asked them to contact me when my package arrived and they did....but they didn't leave a voicemail. I was at work and couldn't answer my phone. When I called to check on the delivery, the woman who works there said my delivery had arrived and that she did call me. I asked why she didn't leave a voicemail. She said that she did what she was supposed to do - she called me. They are morons! Since they don't read their store emails, I'm sure they don't read or respond to the reviews on Yelp either. In my opinion, they could simply care less about providing any type of good customer service or good business practices. My best advice is to go to a different location and avoid this store at all costs. read more

I have been going here for years. The people are very nice. Andy is very helpful. Never had a single problem. I am shocked to see the low reviews here. The people are really great. I agree the place is cluttered at times (when packages waiting to be picked up), but it is a small place. I would also agree it can be slow, but it is not the employees, it is the UPS system which can take a few minutes to input for each package. If you arrive with 2 or 3 people in line, it can take 5 or 10 minutes. Same thing happens at FedEx. Wish it were faster, but it's the system and not reflective of this particular store. read more

I ordered a DVD from Amazon who mistakenly sent it to my former PO box at this store. The lady working behind the counter would not let me retrieve my package, even with ID. She told me to deal with the owner. I spoke to the owner who in turn told me I had to pay $5 to get the package. When I showed up 30 min later to pick it up, he told me he sent it back. There was no policy posted regarding a $5 package pickup charge. I know he didn't return the item, because I saw it on the counter behind him. Now I remember why I closed my PO box 2 years ago. My husband's very important package from overseas was delivered to the wrong address. Thank you UPS. The address was printed clearly on the package, but UPS for whatever reason put the wrong electronic address label. It was delivered to a next door neighbor. The neighbor decided to take the package to this horrible UPS store instead of walking down the block to deliver it to the correct address. After 4 long weeks of UPS not knowing where the package was, it finally appeared at this location. UPS sent us specially to this address. My husband and I walked in and was immediately turned away, by who I can only assume is the owner. He stated that they do not receive packages from UPS unless you own a mailbox in the facility and to drive to another UPS location. Understandably, so we called UPS and confirmed with the customer service rep that the package was in this location. With the customer service rep on the line I called back the UPS store. Finally, with the customer service rep on the phone, the owner admitted the package with there. He stated that he would have to call the employee that received the package. Thirty minutes later, we went back to the UPS store looking for the package. As we walked in the owner, still had not found the package. He reluctantly, got up from his sit and attempted to look for the package. The place is a mess, exposed wires and customer's tracking information and receipts all over the back counter. We stood in the place for 15 minutes while the owner called the employee. He pretended to look around on the package while he played phone tag with the employee. He didn't even ask for own last name. How can you look for a package with out a name? Ten more minutes later and he finally got up and walked 5 steps over to the package. THE PACKAGE with right there!! Unfortunately, after it took him two seconds to find the package I flipped and had some choice words for him. Instead of getting up and looking for the package he quickly dismissed us and made us waste gas driving to another location. Basically the package had been sitting here for weeks because people refuse to do their jobs. Why didn't he return it to the sender or return it pack to UPS undeliverable? Thank goodness my husband does not live in this area anymore and have to rely on place for packages. read more
