Things I like- this place opens up a little earlier than other locations. They also always ask you if you want a receipt for drop offs. Drop offs with prepaid labels are free! They have some office supplies and greeting cards for sale. Things I don't like- small parking lot, which isn't their fault. Not a lot of space in their store, so when there is a line, you can't peruse the greeting cards etc because you're way back by the mailboxes. Rates for shipping are better than the post office when you send heavier objects. I haven't used them for packing and shipping but they've got two stations where you can be helped. Pretty standard UPS store but better hours and friendly staff compared to others. read more

I had a terrible experience in The Lake Mary UPS Store #3540! I shipped a gift to my daughter for her birthday along with the tracking number so she could track its location. She called me when the box arrived & asked if it was some kind of joke? She told me the box was empty! I confronted the store owner Ro who asked if I had a receipt? I told him the gift was purchased months ago & not sure if I still had it but would check. It took me months to track down the vendor only to be told by Kayla that their store only kept tracking numbers for 5 months. They refunded the $12.98 for shipping the empty box to my daughter but denied my claim for the $100 gift that was stolen! This tells me the tape was cut, the $100 gift stolen & the box was retapped & shipped. Very bad business model & horrible customer service! No plans to ever do business with UPS or The UPS Store #3540 in Lake Mary again! Will be using the old Reliable United States Postal Service for All future deliveries! read more

Dropped off an Amazon return already boxed & a label that a UPS driver dropped off for me to use. It wouldn't scan due to quality of label that the UPS DRIVER himself dropped off at my house. The young man with glasses at UPS Store got a little snarky with me and made a few rude comments, then quickly tried to backtrack after I told him this was the label one of YOUR people gave me to use. Poor baby had to enter the numbers manually, boo hoo. He should take an issue like that up with his fellow UPS worker who provided me the label.....not me! Bad people skills. Should not be interfacing with customers. He needs some training in customer service or perhaps stick him in the back room. read more

We stopped by this store yesterday and met the new owners Ro and Chris. They have truly invested in this business, the store was clean and bright (last time We were in it was dirty and dark with non working lights). The retail area was full. Ro introduced us to the new manager and asst manager who were awesome. We mailed our packages and opened a mailbox and are looking forward to returning here. Terrible customer service. I should have checked Yelp before driving to this location. Store owner/manager sacrificing service to make people buy tape. Waited in line while the owner/manager makes small talk to offset his poor speed/efficiency/priorities with a customer ahead of me. Then I am told they sell tape at a price that is clearly taking advantage of customers. Go elsewhere. UPS stores are very convenient. Package packed by them. Paid $50. Arrived completely damaged. Opened claim. Called back. After 5 years manager states she can not find my information. The manager hung up mid conversation, instead of trying to find a resolution. When I called back she refused to come to the phone... just like a 5 year old. The sorest experience ever I had in any shipping company , the manager has attitude, the employe does not care and not helpful or cooperative at all, I was not surprised when I found they had bad rating, Simply because of horrible management , luckily they are still in business, because no one else in the area except them. I had to return an amazon purchase and this was a location that I could bring the return to. Just followed instructions on amazon and once I got to the UPS store presented the code with item and that was it! Super simple, the rep greeted me when I walked in and asked how could she help. It was super easy and fast. I don't think I was there for more than 2 minutes. Will definitely come to this location again when needed. Location and services were very convenient. read more

On Monday, December 17th at approximately 11:30 AM. I went into the UPS Store in Lake Mary Florida to mail a package. I personally wrapped the items with 40 square feet of bubble wrap and packed them in a way that they would not shift during transit. I asked that the box be filled with styrofoam peanuts and shipped. Kolton inspected the contents and said he would add the peanuts to fill the box. He stated that UPS required the box to be placed into another box with at least 3 inches of space on all 6 sides Which he said would be filled with styrofoam peanuts. He assured me that with all of the peanuts and another box that the items would be fine. I paid and left prior to the box being closed up, assuming that my instructions would be followed. The check out time on my receipt is 12:03 pm. At 5:50 pm. I received a call from a woman at the store telling me that she had removed all of the contents and wanted to add more bubble wrap and that it would cost me an additional $35.00 - $40.00. Triple the original rate. I reviewed with her what Kolton and I had agreed upon, filling the interior box with peanuts and placing that box inside of another box with 3 inches of peanuts surrounding it. Her response was, yes that is what they would do. I did not purchase the extra bubble wrap because it had already been agreed upon that it was good to go. My wife received the box on December 20th. She inspected the outside box and the top was slightly crushed. When she opened the box she found paper and NOT the agreed upon and paid for styrofoam peanuts. There was paper on the top and sides of the interior box and less than one inch of paper on the bottom. When she opened the interior box there was paper again and not styrofoam peanuts. Out of the thirteen items contained in the box 6 were broken. These items are irreplaceable and were very sentimental as they were my mother's and she passed away the afternoon of the 17th. The UPS Store DID NOT pack this in the agreed upon manner, using paper instead of styrofoam. They unpacked the items that I had securely packaged repacked them in a way that led to the breakage. They had this package from noon until 5:30 pm and made no effort to contact me until just before shipping, wanting to charge me triple the price and pressured me for a decision. I am extremely dissatisfied with the service of this store and lack of care taken with these items. read more

This UPS is terrible! I have tried to go to this location multiple times and each time the people are rude and unhelpful. Go to the one off international parkway and 46 I have better luck there. This last visit I called ahead to ask about paper shredding services. They said they had the secure bin and that they could handle large quantities. So I went up with 4 bankers boxes full of stuff to shred. The person working did not seem to understand the importance of our security and when we asked to see the items emptied into the locked bin she rolled her eyes huffed and said ok but we close at 3 and if customers come in I'll have to stop. We understood that people would need help as they came in but was it really necessary to have such an attitude about it? We paid over $100 for this service and want to know our personal information is secure. Basically with multiple bad experiences here head my warning go somewhere else for shipping and other services. Went to this location to ship something. I needed to print the label which was in their system. I was told the their store is not linked with the UPS system. I asked "This UPS store is not linked to UPS? Odd." I then asked about sending the label to the store email to print, which is something I have done countless times to various stores without any controversy. They told me the owner doesn't want them giving out their email address and that they didn't have access to the store email - in the store. They then gave me some "blah blah blah something about a security issue." I pulled up the UPS page for that store and asked "is this the secret email address that's published on the UPS website?" I was told they would do a one-time courtesy but they would still need to charge me for computer rental time, even though I would be sending them the email from my phone. She was almost indignant with me and added that each store owner has different policies." I said this store owner is lame and walked out. read more

I went here to return packages that i have ordered from Amazon. I had couple of pieces in my hand and few in car. The man working at the store came out to open the door, took all packages from my hand and offered me to help bring more packages from my car. He instantly started taking the returns which I had properly packed and I was out of the store in less than five minutes. Definitely recommend this place. read more

I paid $300.62 to send a package to another country. The UPS Store #3540 at 3400 Lake Mary, FL knew it was a residential address and checked that box then selected DHL. DHL has not delivered to residences in that country since 2010!!! The UPS store should have known or looked it up OR could have and should have called DHL !! instead the UPS Store took my $300.62, returned the package to me and kept my money!! For a service that they didn't provide!! The UPS store agent demonstrated incompetence as shown by result and owner takes no responsibility for their error!! My agreement was directly with The UPS store and I gave them my money. I want my $300.62 back since they did not deliver the package per the agreementl why should I pay for their error? read more

I have been to this store a total of 8 times in the last ten months. When I have one of the guys help me, I never have problems. There were five different trips where the blonde lady (who seems to be the manager) "helped" me and I always walked out upset. 1st time: Needed to notarized something. She looked at my documents and said they were wrong. Not sure what was wrong but her boss/owner happened to be there and he said he would do it. I found that strange but did not question it. I was just happy to have gotten the matter taken care of. 2nd time: Dropping off a Zappos box that I was returning to Zappos. She said I "did not pack it right." There was shipping tape on all the seams. How is that "not right?" I am a devoted Zappos shopper and have never had any UPS employee tell me that my packing was not "right." (I also use to work for a shipping company so I really do know about good packing.) 3rd time: Went in and asked them if they accept FedEx packages. Her reply in a snarky manner "We are UPS. You can go to FedEx up by Panera." 4th time: Again went in to get something notarized. It was a three part document going to the same place. However, there was only three pages that needed to be notarized. The other parts of the document had nothing to do with the notarized pages....it simply just needed to be signed and sent back. They were all paper clipped in the 3 different sections. While I was waiting for my turn, I started signing and dating the pages that did not have to be notarized. I was signing these pages while I was at the counter waiting for the "blonde lady" to finish with her other customer, which means she could see what I was doing. When she was done with the other customer, I said "I would like to have something notarized." Her reply was "I can't do it because you must sign in my presence." I informed her that I had not signed any of the pages that needed to be notarized. She looked them over and still said that she could not do it. I took my documents to the UPS store in Altamonte and received outstanding service. The agent there did not give me any grief about the pages that I had already signed. 5th time: I am a glutton for punishment....and because this location is really close to my home. I went in to ship 3 packages back to Overstock. Now the blonde tells me that I "did not adhere the shipping label correctly." I did not even bother to ask her what correctly was. I picked up my packages and walked up. Again I went to the UPS store in Altamonte Springs and the staff there was wonderful. They took my Overstock packages without any questions or comments. They gave me a receipt. I assume my shipping label was fine since Overstock has already given me my credit. I also had escrow papers that needed to be notarized. All done at Altamonte without a hitch. I will never go to the UPS store in Lake Mary again. I am not one for writing bad reviews as I always wonder if it is me that might be dumb or whatever. But 5 times of receiving bad service from the same person is just too much. read more

These people are terrible! I stopped at the store on 3-15-2013 to have 3 items packed and shipped to California. As the items are relatively heavy, this would have been a nice sale for the store. Upon walking in the lady who was busy smoking a cigarette said "I'm can't help you and I'm not packing that". She went on to say that they had lost an employee and that they weren't doing any packing. Yet I was the only customer in the store and she was busy having a smoke. UPS should revoke their franchise. read more
