Laveen is a small community, and I believe this location is locally owned which makes the complete lack of customer service even more disappointing. I usually go out of my way to the Ahwatukee location, even if it's less convenient, just to avoid coming here. I only stop at this one if I absolutely have to. If you're just dropping off an Amazon return at the self-service station, fine. But if you actually need help with shipping or have a question, brace yourself. The employees act like you're a nuisance the moment you walk in. They're rude, dismissive, and clearly don't want to be bothered. It's honestly ridiculous how unwelcoming this place feels. The employees and owner of this location are amazing. They went above and beyond to contact me after I had drop off a large number of mailers without realizing that almost half of them hadn't been stamped yet. I was able to go back in, correct the error and have my mailers properly delivered. They saved me time and a lot of money by taking the extra step to contact me. Walking into the store, there is an employee that looks annoyed that I even walked in. Workers need to be retrained on guest/customer service. One of the worst customer service experiences you can get. I was referred to by a senior store employee as a "smart ass" for asking why I'm being charged $1.09 for taping a little box. After all we're bringing business to this place and in return, we receive these snarky comments. This employee can't treat customers as if they were his grandchildren if he has any. BEWARE OF KEVIN! He is vicious and a horrible person to deal with as a customer and I'd imagine even more so as his employees, which would explain the high employee turnover rate! The problem arose due to having both Amazon returns and UPS returns. He was wrongfully advising me to put my UPS labeled packages in the Amazon return totes. I work for Amazon and know how the return totes work and those totes get delivered to an Amazon return center not a UPS hub. My UPS packages would go on a tour to Amazon and I'd be lucky if Amazon sent my packages back to USP to get to the correct destination. I disagreed with his direction and he became hostile, I suggested he take my UPS packages and give them to the driver instead of having them mixed in Amazon totes. He refused and made a big deal which I ended up taking my packages to another ups. I will NEVER do business again with this UPS store and I believe that is the general census with Laveen neighbors. Kevin has destroyed this UPS Laveen location with his lack of any skill really. If you want to avoid an obtuse manager/owner I suggest you visit another UPS store like myself. read more

After years of accepting usps mail they decided to no longer take them without any notice. I had two different employees take my mail and let me walk out the store with it. Not returned to sender, not sent to usps. Just sitting in a box. It wasn't until some investigation that I discovered what happened. I spoke to staff and not only were they extremely rude, but their "solution" was to write a small and poorly visible sign taped to the line leads. So you'd have to be waiting in line, next to the counter, meticulously looking for signs to be able to see it. This entire issue and lack of training and communication really negatively impacted my business! read more

If I could rate the experience less than a 1 I would. The owner of the store, so he says, was instantly rude to me when I asked for a notary service. A notary service that he was charging over $10 for, one sheet of paper. I stated that it was quite high if price but moved on to inquire about overnighting the item. I was looked at with a sarcastic smile and told that we can talk about overnighting after we notarize and that the overnight person leaves in 5 minutes so we wouldn't be able to overnight after all. I borrowed a pen, that I had to ask for because there were none available, and had it in my hand ready to sign my document. I was told to lift my right hand and put the pen down before I could get the service I was paying for. Never, in my existence have I had to solemnly swear before getting a document notarized. I was treated like a criminal, I felt completely embarrassed in store full of people, and when I asked why I had to drop the pen I got the same exact sarcastic look as I did before. I asked him why he was treating that way and he asked me to leave...I headed towards the door only for him to talk crap as I was about to walk out. I turned back around and told him that he was trying to embarrass me...in all reality he embarrassed himself. Kevin was so speedy and awesome. He expressed how appreciative he is when he has a kind customer. When I walked in there was a gentleman with 20+ boxes for a kids nonprofit and there was a line. There was another employee doing their best with their current customer but Kevin hustled through the boxes and managed to decrease the line significantly. I have used this location for almost a decade. And, enough is enough because quality of services for box holders is not good. I went to check on company mail. I guess USPS standards do not apply here?! I was told, "we don't sort Saturday mail." But, I know for a fact tracking number an essential parcel is enroute. So, I had an Amazon return... Huge, bulky heavy box. I'm 5'2 and don't have large arms. I have to get it out of my car about 5 stores away from the ups store. Zero parking. I get the door open, manage to get this monstrosity in the store and the s guy looks up at the end of the counter, not with the anyone and says, yeah, you gotta get it in anyway you can! I got passed around to several UPS stores just trying to get fingerprinted. After my 4th attempt, this one actually provides fingerprinting . The down side is if you went through Gemalto or have a bar code that needs to be scanned in ordered to get fingerprinted than this location isn't a good location. read more

I've been to this 51st/Baseline location about 5 times. Every time I come here the service is just great. The time waiting is either none or really fast. I went a week before Xmas to return an Amazon textbook and the line was all the way past the door. I was going to leave, but decided to stay. There were 3 workers at the counter and a floater in the back. The line went really fast. I was surprised. This is my local UPS store, so I'll be coming to this one going forward, but it's nice to know they are efficient here. read more

Now that you've laughed to the point where you're rolling on the ground, understand that this is the reality for this UPS store. To be fair, this seems to be the case with ALL UPS Stores I've been to in the Phoenix area. Apparently that place just attracts ...uh... overly contemplative and meditative types. But oh, not only are the folks working there slow as heck, most of them seem to not know the basics of their own systems. I've yet to go there and NOT have someone ask a colleague how to do something, find something, or verify something. That colleague then either doesn't know either and has to ask the overworked senior manager, or has to look it up. They type slowly, print slowly, look things up slowly - but man, they're super fast and on the dot when it comes to taking lunch breaks, no matter how many customers are waiting. Meanwhile, you got folks (literally) standing out the door in 100 degrees, trying to maintain the 6 foot distance. There is always a huge mess of boxes and items sitting around the help desk area, waiting to be packaged up (thanks Amazon, that "let the UPS Store package up your returns"- thing is super helpful, I'm sure), or waiting to be processed in some way. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of stuff goes missing there, it's a mess. Overall this UPS Store suffers from the same lack of speed and competence that so many other stores suffer from. I am writing this review to not discredit anyone who has had bad service or feel that they did, but to instead give you my experience. With all that said, don't get me wrong, when the new owner took over a few years ago, I didn't care for him that much. I felt he was too "by the book", rigid, unfriendly, all of it...but fast forward. I see that he has calmed down a bit on his approach. He is a lot more personable and friendly. This morning, I had a small talk with the guy. He was extremely kind, personable and all of it. I informed him of the comments that were made about him and his business. He admitted that he had some work to do, but things were improving. He was very forthright and honest. He's a great dude and I enjoyed the conversation this morning. I see now about this gentleman. He is a misunderstood man. He, like me, has a systematic military-minded type way of doing things and running his business. I encourage you to see for yourself. I never would discourage anyone from doing anything..but just give you some perspective. If you do or don't want to try this business...don't read or take any of these comments seriously...including mine. See how your experience goes...people write reviews when they are extremely emotional including myself...whether is be extreme anger or elation. I would only be telling you...find out for yourself. Was the customer having a bad day walking in? Maybe..Was the staff tired or feeling the same way? Maybe...Find out for yourself. If things are not up to your expectations...then tell them and let them fix it. I see all of these negative reviews...I myself leave a lot of negative reviews...but only if I voice my grievance and the people either don't care or get negative with me in turn. I'm not impressed with the service at this store . I was told today that they do not know where my package is, it supposedly never got checked in at the UPS facility here in AZ before it was to be sent to California. They told me to check back in 8-10 days to see if they can find it ! It shouldn't matter what was being shipped, however they asked . I agree with the last review left. I've used UPS Stores literally all over the country. I've NEVER had an issue with a box or package being taped. Yesterday, I bring in a 45 lbs box. I ask can they tape the box, I'm told they can only do the bottom and offers me to buy an entire roll of tape they have overpriced in the store... Makes no sense, then another individual (I'm assuming the owner or manager) says they'll do it but basically only because a previous review was left that complained of the same. You know why... because that's what ALL the other UPS stores do. Needless to say I'll just go to 19th Avenue where they actually appreciate business and do things because it's the right thing to do. Went inside for an Amazon return, which I normally never having an issue with, but today, not only did they say my package required a box, which it usually never does, I go to purchase a bag instead that is listed for 149 , the whole stack was listed there. and they ring it up at 299 and were unwilling to honor the price. Do not deal with this location I went their last year in February and shipped a musical keyboard to California and insured it and when the buyer got the keyboard the screen was damaged so I went back to them and we started a claim and Kevin the manager I guess was his name told me that the complaint have to go thru him and I was ok with what he told me and he started the process and asked me for pictures before and after and receipts and told me couple of days and he'll let me know and a week past I didn't hear from him and when I called him he said that ups needs to pick up the keyboard for inspection and gave me a date for pick up so I told the buyer that ups we'll pick up the keyboard on that day he told me so the guy waited all day nobody showed up so I called him again and he said that ups needs an apartment number so I told you guys delivered the package so why you telling me you need an apartment number now and how did you delivered it before anyway he kept on giving me the run around with excuses that didn't make sense and I would call the location and they tell me he's not there or he'll call you back or COVID-19 is delaying everything so I ended up paying almost $800 for the buyer to fix the keyboard and for the hassle and when I called ups corporation today to file a complaint about this location they told me that it's an old case and it's closed WAY TO GO UPS didn't expect this from a respectable company like you but I'm not going to let this go although we moved out of state I'll pursue this issue until I get an answer read more

The older man that works here is consistently rude and unhelpful. On numerous occasions he has been rude - prior to covid as well. The younger staff is very nice though! I brought 2 packages to this store for an Amazon return, When I checked 2 days later the UPS site shows the packages as still awaiting receipt. I went to the store to check why my packages were not received by the UPS delivery. I was told that they are only a UPS store, and they cannot help me with a missing package, even though they are the ones who mishandled my packages. The owner is just plain rude also the hours are crazy who closes at 6 pm people are still coming home from work always a line in the store the cut out printing you have to do it yourself in computer so they make your use computer that's a charge then go print that's another charge .. another way to make a buck ... sent a printing job to their email like I've done in past got to store on way to airport to pick up my prints for a family's funeral and was told we don't do that anymore not even a return email telling me this didn't have time to wait in line for computer usage since both were being used to print because they don't do that anymore needless to say didn't get prints needed for family funeral will go to ups store down the street read more

I was very specific that the package had to be in LA before Xmas. Well, here it is Friday before Xmas and the package was nowhere to be found. The employees are a bunch of useless morons. STEER CLEAR OF THIS LOCATION--at least as long as Kevin is the owner, which honestly, I'm hoping is not much longer given all the reviews specifically about his lack of customer service! (He is the older, bald man there.) I recently went in because I had a number of Amazon returns to send back. I am a mother of a toddler and a baby, so time is precious and efficiency is key. With my husband's help, I organized and loaded my returns (about 6 total) into the store, along with my kids. The goal was to make the transactions go as seamlessly as possible. We got there early and there was only one customer in the store who was already being helped. Kevin came to the front to "help" us. I wish he hadn't! For context, Amazon apparently has a new system for returns where some orders do not require packaging as it will be consolidated into a larger order to be sent back to their warehouse. The shipping labels could not be printed ahead of time for this reason, so when I entered the store, I had a cart full of open boxes. For each return, a QR code was generated so that the UPS employee could determine whether the item was part of a consolidation or needed its own box. I already had all of the QR codes queued up in my phone ready to be scanned. When Kevin greeted us, he was as pleasant as a box of rocks, but I was polite anyway. I even prefaced the interaction by saying, "Please bear with me, I have a few Amazon returns." Before I could even provide him the QR codes, he condescendingly said, "Don't take this the wrong way..." (red flag!), "but if your packages need to be taped at all, I will not help you and you will need to purchase tape from us." I have come in before and have never been chastised over tape, so I was flabbergasted by his dryness. However, I didn't want to dismiss him, so I just continued on with the transaction. Based on what he told me regarding the tape, I decided to first pull out the biggest order that I had to return which coincidentally was the only one that I DID have a shipping label for and was taped up. Before I could even get it out of the cart, he very rudely interrupted by saying, "No no no, let's do this one at a time, what are you doing?" Fed up by his tone at this point, I then told him that although he didn't want to be offensive, I was very frustrated with his lack of care or patience for something I organized and that could have gone smoothly if he just allowed it. You would think that would change his attitude--it did not. So I pushed my cart out of the store and decided to go elsewhere. Another UPS Store helped me out--and what do you know, it was a 5 minute transaction. I learned from that owner that they make very little on Amazon returns, which was honestly probably why Kevin was so rude and didn't care for the business.
