Returning a rug to Amazon that was rolled up in a long clear bag. The bag opened a LITTLE at the top seam, so little that the rug wouldn't nearly fit through it but I asked for a 2 inch MAXIMUM length of a piece of tape, and the woman who was "helping" me said my options were to buy a whole roll or pay $2 for the 2 inch piece of tape. I couldn't believe what I was hearing and laughed... I had to repeat it back to her... "wait, just the smallest little piece so it doesn't get caught on something and rip open completely is going to cost me a whole roll of tape or $2???" She said, "that's correct" so I continued to laugh and I left. I've had other UPS stores tape boxes for me, pack things, give me the box for free even if shipping is extreme... this place is heinous. Let me start by saying that I have been a huge UPS Store guy in general. I have always enjoyed the convenience, the helpfulness of the staff in packaging and shipping ideas, the efficiency in which each store runs, etc. This location however, on Chestnut Ridge Road in Montvale, is by far and way the furthest departure from any experience I have had with a UPS Store. Let's start with the young ladies behind the counter. They are both rude, plain and simple. There is one with blonde hair who appears to be Latin American, and she not only is rude but she is sloppy. She asked questions that were self explanatory from looking at the package. She was trying to make things harder than they need to be and didn't realize I have been to the UPS Store probably since before she was born. When it came time for my return receipts she just dropped it on the table as opposed to handing it to me and there was no thank you, goodbye or have a nice day. Just completely rude and in my opinion her attitude was that of an entitled type. Her colleague was equally as unpleasant to do deal with on a separate occasion. You can just feel the negative vibes oozing from their eyes and their body language says it all. They don't like you then moment you walk in the door. I have seen them be completely different with other types of customers ( the part where you read between the lines). I'm not the only one. I mentioned my experience to an employee in a store located in that same strip mall and another customer chimed in and shared a similar account of this location as did the employee. So they have a bad reputation at the ground level. This location should be avoided at all costs. read more

Suri at the UPS store packed two paintings and had them shipped to me in California. The paintings were very well packed and arrived with no damages or problems. I had said to her that I would appreciate her patience as I hadn't done the Amazon return & she got even more nasty. This wasn't her having a bad day - this is her disposition. Not surprised by all of the negative reviews. I should've looked this up before driving there and having my package sent there. I'll help future people who do what I didn't. Was given rude service by Jessica and store owner Sori or Suri whatever his name is...he Is not kind and laughed in my face. Was told by UPS themself I should not be charged for a package but he has no issue holding my package with back-to-school items for my children. I would NOT recommend this store for any services. Went to the UPS store on 12/13 at 5:30 and the two ladies (mostly the blonde one) were extremely rude and very difficult to work with. I usually drop my stuff off at a staples and they have tape for self service but here they charged me $3.00 to simply put tape on a box. Complete rip off. The blonde girl had such a bad attitude. I really liked this place before and wanted to base a lot of things from my business here but I don't want to deal with her so now Im going to find somewhere else. The other girl working was nicer she was just following the blonde one's instructions. Btw this was an amazon return and from what I know UPS packages (at least tapes) the boxes if you have QR codes. i will start off by saying do not go to this ups sore!!! the girl jessica is disgustingly rude and unprofessional on every level!!! after only being in that store the 3rd time. the 2nd time i was in the store she actually through the item i was returning and with being rude and with an attitude and if she thinks wearing that mask is helping her she is out of her mind. she thinks hiding behind that face mask she is getting away with being nasty to customers and they wont realize the faces and they way she speaks to customers!! i called the owner of the store or if he was even the owner of that store suri and he was also rude and unprofessional!! i will never go to this store ever again and for someone that just moved to this area i am letting others know about it. i had to give 1 star just to even put this message on yelp but i would i never even given them 1 star at all. read more

I ran into to this ups store literally less than 5 minutes before closing with a big bag full of Amazon returns. I was honestly anticipating attitude and rolled eyes since I'm sure these employees just wanted to go home but the woman who helped me (I wish I knew her name, but she was a Hispanic woman with dark hair) was super nice and polite and patiently waited for me to unload all my returns and scanned all 9 of my barcodes with no problem. I don't use the UPS store very often because they and Amazon are so convenient to deliver to the house. Occasionally though, as you all understand, sometimes packages don't get delivered for whatever reason and I've had to visit this UPS store a few times. The owner and his employees have always been efficient, courtesy and gotten me out of the store as quickly as possible, even when they are busy. I needed a passport photo and according to The UPS Store website, the Montvale location performs that service. In fact, the in-store signage confirmed that. I waited for my turn about 20 minutes. When I asked to get passport photo I was told they do not provide them. I pointed out the sign clearly visible above me. "Sorry, we don't do that here." I guess they worry about their promotional material as much as they do about customers. read more

I am moving to SC and needed to ship some very fragile and precious artwork with tremendous sentimental value. The artsist was my Mom and these pieces are totally irreplaceable. I googled shipping precious artwork and found the UPS store near my home. I called and spoke to Suri who assured me he could handle the job. I took the work to him and was immediately impressed with his calm confidence and obvious expertise in handling this type of precious cargo. So, after discussing the project and how he would pack and care for these oversized hand made works of art I felt completely confident that Suri would get the job done professionally and safely. We ended up with 6 boxes some of which he had to customize due to the size of the items. Suri called me the day they shipped and two days later they arrived the home of my friend who is going to keep them until our home is ready. She opened each one and inspected the work. I went in just before the coronavirus was full swing & his store was spotless & owner had gloves on while assisting me. I paid 36 dollars for next day air for delivery the next day by 10:30 am. That was Thursday morning at 9 am. It should have arrived Friday morning at 10:30 am. Its now Monday at 5:30 pm and its still not delivered. It needed to get there the next day. It never did. Do NOT use this store. Try calling UPS. They just tell you its everyone else's fault. I had to get a coffee table transported. The shipping was going to be very expensive but we came up with a way to get it as a checked airline baggage item, if we could have UPS store package it for us. To fit under the airline rules the size had to be just right and this store put extra effort into making the custom packing perfect. These guys do good business. The UPS store in Montvale (Chestnut Ridge Road) is AWFUL. Not only are many of their employees nasty but they typically seem harried and easily distracted. That's NOT the worst though... Today, I brought a package in to the store to be shipped overnight. They said it would be approximately $40 (shipping from Montvale to Jersey City). I questioned the amount and was told that was the least expensive option. I then checked with The UPS Store in Westwood and the price was $10 dollars for the same shipment. TEN DOLLARS FOR THE SAME SHIPMENT. When I called The UPS Store in Montvale to inquire as to the price difference they were dismissive and talked about some added fee saying "Well, if your package didn't arrive, you'd be angry." I then told them that I did not ask for any "extra" services...I specifically asked for the least expensive way to get my package from point A to point B. They dismissed me. I have always thought they were more expensive than other stores but didn't know why (since they were never transparent). Here's the deal: if you want to spend 3 times more to mail a package, I highly recommend The UPS Store in Montvale. If you want the same guarantee for less money, go elsewhere.
