In recent years, I have been going to the UPS Store at the Dunbrook Center Shopping Mall to ship my Amazon returns for free. All I need to do is place the item on the scale, the staff scans the QR code on my phone and the UPC code of the item, and hands me a receipt. There is no need for me to package anything, they take care of it. If there's no line, I can be in and out in literally a minute. I recently learned that each UPS Store is individually owned, and the staff at this location are very friendly and professional. I believe that it is family-owned. I am very happy to have such a well-run UPS Store so close to home. read more

Just wanted to give a shout out to this location and all the employees working there. I stop by this location quite a lot and everyone working there is always super nice and helpful! I had to ship a package at the post office this morning but realized that my printer at home was broken so I decided to stop by UPS to print in there (they charge a small fee). The man working there was super friendly, helped me print the label and not only that but when he noticed that I was about to purchase tape just so I can put the label on my box; he quickly grabbed his own tape so I didn't have to buy any and packaged the entire return for me. He went above and beyond and I just wanted to say how much I appreciate it! Great customer service! read more

I needed to make Amazon returns and this location was convenient for me to go to. They are open on Sundays even though online hasn't been updated which I like because I can never make it to a location before closing time during the week. They have all that you need for your mailing, printing, shipping services. The employee was friendly and moved super quickly. Love the efficiency. I was in and out. I've been going to the UPS store for years and always have excellent service. Today, I went there just before 10am on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and I was worried when I pulled up two minutes before opening that they still had the metal cage pulled down inside the store. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the employee opened the door promptly at 10 AM. He even held the door open for me as I took the item out of my trunk. He quickly processed my return and I was out the door in less than a minute. Love this location and service! read more

Although we don't know everyone's name, the employees at this Northbrook UPS Store are fantastic. Later in the day, Sam, Sid, and others are always accommodating, friendly, and professional. Dealing with the general public isn't always so easy, but in my experience this team absolutely aces it every time. I drop pkgs there approx 3+ times per week. I had to go to this UPS store to drop off my Amazon return! I wanted to go here cause I wanted a receipt for dropping off my item, it was fast! I was in and out of there 5 mins tops! Beware of using this store for Amazon returns! I don't know what they're doing with Amazon returns, but lately they have not been returning any packages back to Amazon. Make sure they are scanning the Amazon return label, and you receive a receipt. After you receive the receipt, make sure you hold onto it and check it every week. More than likely, you will not see that package move ever again. Seems like this UPS store is just holding onto those packages. Go somewhere else to drop off your Amazon returns! read more

I never write reviews and it's sad that my first one had to be about my experience at this location. I wish I could give zero stars for the way I was treated here. Staff are not friendly and not helpful at all. I live in Buffalo grove and was my first time experiencing such horrible service. I was there on Monday June 8th at 2:33 pm. Please do not go to this ups if you do not want to get discriminated against. I will say that I'm glad I asked him for my drop off receipt that he threw away. There were two gentleman working. It's kinda hidden in the strip mall and its next to a comic book store that's closed on Mondays I think or open later during the day... But it's a nice clean organized shop that's pretty efficient. I've been here about four five times and it just occurred to me that I didn't write a review on this place. I was actually quite surprised that I was the first one to review this place so I also took the photo on there because it is as, I said hidden. It has ample parking because of the strip mall and the staff which I think is husband and wife is very friendly and quick and social. I think I also saw some storage boxes like it a bank where you might be able to lock up stuff and maybe they rent a space out but you could give them a call and find out for yourself if interested. read more

After selling my parent's house and growing up in NBK, I shipped several boxes and framed art to my house in LA. I brought all the items to the store for them to pack and ship. Unfortunately, a framed art piece arrived completely shattered - it either got very jostled in transit or just wasn't wrapped totally well. Although I wasn't able to contact the store until a few months after I had originally shipped (I had been traveling and unable to make time to hang the artwork), I immediately received a reply from a helpful worker at the store with further instructions. UPS was at my house the next day to pick up the shattered artwork and bring back to the store for inspection. Although that assessment took over a month, the store manager was very communicative and helpful throughout the process. I really appreciated the attention they gave me and my artwork. They even argued further to HQ for fair compensation for the damage and I was more than pleased with the results - and my returned artwork. I'd ship through here again in a second as their customer service from management is outstanding. read more

Best experience. The staff was in the best mood and very friendly and helpful. I have a sprained ankle and a staff member was heading in and grabbed my box for me so I didn't have to carry it. You can't get mad at staff for how much it costs to ship your items, they don't make the rules they're just doing their job. That being said even though it can be pricey I always trust UPS to get my shipment there on time and undamaged. I went in there to ship a garment bag second day UPS I had to purchase a box as well. After taking several measurements of the garment bag the young lady taken care of me gave me the quotation, I almost fell on the floor she quoted me roughly about $400.00, (392.50.) The garment bag weight once boxed up was 20 pounds. When she saw my reaction She measured the box again and said oh we can make the box little bit smaller to reduce the price to $232.00. Uhhh WTF??? The cost of the box was $9.75 so cutting it down dropped the price $160.50 , ya right!! There was no way I believed that would cost this much to ship, so I left with my garment bag and I went to the real major shipper drop-off location.I found out is this one is a franchise and they tack on the whole bunch of extra money on top of what UPS charges them and I'm willing to pay affair amount but it has to be fair amount. NOW FOR THE FACTS!! 2nd day shipment quotation shipping with major shipping company $141.00 So let's do the math, the fake UPS Store on Dundee Road attempted to gouge me for $400 then quickly dropped it to $232.00 Does anybody see where that attempted price gouging occurred? Watch out folks! They will try and Price GOUGE you, do not let this happen. Do yourself a favor and go get another price quote direct from any of the major shippers before shipping with this UPS Store. PS: I believe either the owner or manger sent me a nice message which I did not accept via yelp, telling me, "I was full of shit", Great business skills clown! The guys that work here are genuinely uneducated and dumb at their jobs. We submitted an online print order, they couldn't find it and said they don't offer that service. I said I have uploaded a PDF on their website, choose their location and paid for the order, but they said you have to bring a PHYSICAL copy... The Northbrook UPS store on Dundee near Pfingsten is run by friendly people who are very helpful. When I don't have time to pack things, they also do that for me. I especially like that they keep the addresses of people to whom I've made prior shipments. That saves me time whenever I ship to those people again. read more

Was hoping to use my neighborhood UPS store after calling and talking to someone at a different shop and getting a quote (this branch wouldn't answer their phone). Not only did they try to take complete advantage of me price-wise but they were not helpful, friendly, or particularly professional. They wouldn't quote me until I brought it all inside even though I gave them dimensions and weight. I ended up having to haul everything back to my car after their outrageous quote. No offers even to hold the door, just stared at me struggling with awkward, large boxes. In addition, they tried to double charge me for insurance on the packages which would have been covered via UPS pack and ship policy. If you'd like to be overcharged by hundreds of dollars, and not treated particularly well then this is the UPS store for you. read more

Upon opening it in the presence of the owner, find the most valuable items are missing and remainder of items damaged beyond repair! Items were clearly listed on the paper form, but GUESS WHAT? Even though they claim you are covered up to $100 did not get ONE PENNY back--not even the cost original cost I paid to ship the item! The owners are complete jerks who do not deserve your business or trust. Beware of UPS--especially this store! Even the main office of UPS will take absolutely no action or responsibility. Another customer came in to get pick up something from their rented box and they wouldn't help that person because the boxes were locked up. This is poor business practice! They refused to send my package. (an overnight envelope with a memory stick to my home office) Said they don't accept drop off's. When I asked him for a scissors to cut the paper, he advises me he doesn't have one. I stopped here today to have a legal document notarized and buy the stamps to mail the document. Rufus who helped me was very professional and courteous. He explained to me that the store just reopened under new management two days ago(!) and that they did not yet have stamps for sale. He offered me two stamps (enough to mail the document) of his own and refused to take payment for them! I wish the new management success and based on my experience it looks like they are off to a good start. read more

This store has changed ownership recently and service stinks now. I went in there on 9/13/16 to ship an old family iPhone ASAP to my daughter in Milan Italy so she can purchase a SIM card over there to communicate with her friends. I was told by Dave in the store that it would cost $109.33 to get it to her shipping address by 9/15/16 in the afternoon. I was delighted to hear that. although it seemed like a lot of money, she would have the phone quickly...or so I told. Unfortunately, when I called back on 9/16/16 and said she did not have the phone yet, the "manager" told me Dave was misinformed and did not let me know my package could possibly be stuck in Italy's customs and my daughter will have to pay additional fees above the $100 already shelled out to UPS.My gripe is, as a customer, I was never told this could be a possibility. UPS is the shipping "experts" aren't they? Given the dollars I will be spending to get an old iPhone to her, I would probably just had her buy a less expensive new, unlocked cell phone on-line.
