It was an impossible day for the ckerks at UPS through NO fault of their own. On a Monday, their busiest day- and with all the inconveniences that the Covid-19 situation adds, they staff at this UPS location dealt with sick employees, late US mail delivery, and impatient customers and maintained excellent service. I have been going to this store for quite a few years now & I am WAY happier than I used to be! I do only go there for Amazon returns, so for the most part I can only speak to that. However, I do see how others are treated as well. This year they hired a young guy named Petro, it's been at least 6 months now, probably more like 8. I have never had a more polite, patient, & incredibly quick worker there before him. Even if I have 10 things I'm returning, once I'm up to that counter, I'm in and out in just minutes. And that was not always the case! Given the lack of work ethic of many young people today, I honestly didn't expect much. And although, like I said, I have only returned stuff, anytime I'm in there (today for example) & there are multiple people in line, he immediately tells everyone that if they have a certain service they need, they can come to the other side of the counter & will either ask another worker to come out right away, or do whatever is needed very quickly without making other people wait. Today someone had something he couldn't help them with before checking everyone else out before her first & he went straight bk to ask a coworker to come out. By the time I left, that person was still waiting. Anyway, I used to dread going in there, but if he's there when I come in, I'm not as worried. So thank you for your new hire UPS. read more

The niblick store in Paso Robles has a very rude employee named Caleb. I had called in today about 1:30pm to get an estimate on shipping a computer I was gifting to my sister in law in Long Beach. Kaley helped me and gave me a good estimate including shipping of $55. I said I would come in and she proceeded to take all my information about the shipping. I came in to the store about 2:30pm with my computer. Caleb was the only one there. There was no information he said that Kaley had pre prepared. She was not there, apparenetly on lunch. Caleb measured and weighed the computer and then proceeded to tell me it was $85. I said I had a quote of $55 and thats why I was there. He was rude and abrupt, about the price being $85 and as I continued and asked for him to contact Kaley he said rudely she was new only 2 weeks on the job and had obviously gotten it wrong. Did I want to ship it anyway? I said no I was told $55, 27 for shipping UPS ground and 28 for packing. He said it didn't matter the price was $85 and I said I didn't want that price. He told me to leave the store that I was rude, and said that 4x with the last time the difference of $30 wasn't much!! Even a customer behind me said yeah, man whats wrong with you, 30 dollars difference isn't much. I was stunned that I was treated with so much contempt. I've used this store before and never was treated like that. I am of the opinion that customer service is dead in that store in Paso Robles. I go in here off and on for Amazon returns and things. Today is the third time during a global health pandemic and governor's mandate that ALL ENCLOSED BUSINESSES require masks. According to Jessica the manager of the Paso Branch and Atascadero Branch, these two businesses feel above the mandate and don't feel the need to protect their employees or clients in posting signs about wearing masks. I was told the employees that don't wear masks all have respiratory ailments (wow, that's a lot of respiratory ailments in one location!). Ya know, my elderly friend has COPD but has a brain and knows that the sooner that we ALL mask and distance, the sooner this is over for all of of, so she wears a mask and she is just FINE. Second, the female without a mask came out and asked if I "needed to be here?" Yes, I do. I have been in shelter in place and don't shop in stores, so I shop on line. SOMETIMES I have to return things. SOMETIMES I must do this via UPS. The word mandate means MANDATORY. Coming from the governor, we all need to heed it! In several sophisticated cities people and businesses are being fined for not wearing masks and heeding mask rules. We are sadly not there yet. Jessica said "I am sorry I feel this way." I don't just FEEL THIS WAY. We are in a HEALTH CRISIS. When I come in contact with someone who isn't wearing a mask, there is an ACTUAL RISK involved here. I don't care if YOU don't want to get covid. I just care that I actually don't want to get it. So, for the sake of PUBLIC HEALTH, please, UPS STORE, put up a wear a mask sign! As you can clearly see from my profile I rarely write reviews. Last weekend I was celebrating my birthday in Paso Robles, or course wine tasting :). Had a wonderful time, packed up and drove back to San Diego. Just as we were almost home the phone rang, it was the hotel, I left my backpack with my work laptop,ipad,Airbuds and other valuable items in the room. Sadly even though I always stay here the hotel was not helpful with any referrals so I started to "Google." I ended up calling The UPS store on Niblick Rd and a cheerful voice on the other end introduce herself as Jamie. She patiently listened to my dilemma and needs and had an immediate solution. She would go to the hotel, retrieve my backpack and then have it safely packed and sent to me. As I braced for the price while kicking myself for being so lame she told me the service charge to pick up my backpack would be $5.00, did I hear that right? $5.00 yes. She apologized that since it was 4:00pm she would not be able to process it until the next day, Thursday. Well fast forward and @ 1:30pm Friday the 13th I recieved by backpack. Everything in its proper place and all for a minor $ 78.02... (less than two bottles of wine!) Exceptional service like this is deeply appreciated and I can only hope locals and tourist like me will help support this business and thank them for being there with a smile on their face, and in my case a smile in their voice. read more

I've only had great encounters with this store and it's staff! They got me in and out quickly and were so sweet and helpful. The only negative experiences I've had were with the other customers who came into the store. I feel that it is basic, common knowledge that your real first and last name and cell number are required for shipping a package. There is nothing wrong with the store requesting this as it is already public information and the staff explaining these terms is not "snotty feedback". I am blown away by the amount of rude, snotty, and uneducated customers these stores have to put up with. I don't know how these staff members deal people who lack common sense on the daily. One day after the governor mandated masks for indoor use, the employee who served me was not wearing one. She said it was left up to them, and that a mandate was more like a strong recommendation. Look it up -- a mandate is a command or order. We could make a lot more headway against Covid-19 if people would just get over themselves & wear a mask to help prevent spreading the virus. This place is a Rip-Off, avoid if your a business. We called in to get a quote for shredding, was told that for 50+ Pounds we would get a rate of $1.00 per pound. We were charged $1.50 per pound and had over 300 pounds of shredding. We tried to talk to the owner on multiple occasions, who told us are card would be refunded the difference. Never happened, then had to get flak at work because the rate I was quoted at work was wrong and we should have USED ANY OTHER SERVICE in Paso for shredding. Avoid this place if you are doing anything over $20 in transactions, or are relying on them for an accurate quote. read more

Oh my!!! It is obvious from the collection of Reviews that "You can't please all of the people all of the time". Our situation was fairly basic, but then a bit unique as well. We took in an Air Cooker, with Owner's Manual & Cook Book, "Unboxed" to be mailed to Albuquerque. So far, so good. We paid for the Packaging & Mailing and left the store. Four days later we got notice from Albuquerque that the Air Cooker arrived, but none of the promised Instructions & Cook Book. We called the UPS Store quite upset. They politely listened to our complaint, and promised to contact the person that handled the transaction, and let us know their findings. We even went to the store to see if we could find the missing material. Again, in a totally Professional manner, they let us know the person they needed to talk with would be in later in the day, and reconfirmed that they had our telephone number. As promised, we received a call back within two hours. They informed us that they pulled the Security Tapes, and the Tape showed the employee placing the Owner's Manual and Cook Book in the bottom of the box, before installing the Bubble Wrap, and finally the Air Cooker. We were invited to go in to view the Security Video, but we were by then on our way out of town. We contacted the Recipient in Albuquerque, that insisted they had gone thru everything in the box, and only the Air Cooker and Bubble Wrap were inside. This left us in a Quandary. UPS telling us that everything got mailed and our Recipient telling us, they had the box in front of them, and there was no Owner's Manual or Cook Book in the box. We asked the Recipient to have someone else check the box, to see if they had simply overlooked the material. Seconds later we were notified that the material was at the bottom of the box, under the Bubble Wrap, just like the employee at UPS told us the Security Video showed. We were really Appreciative of the extra effort that UPS showed, to help us communicate with our Recipient, and keep the Material from being thrown out with the Bubble Wrap. Wow, the employees at this UPS store are fantastic. I have a PO Box at this store for my business. The employees there have taken the time to remember who I am and without asking for my mail they have it ready for me. Most of the time I do not even have to open my box to get the slip. As far as shipping packages I have one that needed to be at the clients business in two days. It was two hours late but on the same day that I needed. I was reimbursed for the cost of the shipping. I have nothing bad to say about this store and their current staff. Keep up the good work. read more

Bad customer service! One of the girls that has straight light brown hair wasn't wearing a mask and she worked there. They weren't enforcing the covid-19 guidelines! There were other people who went in and they weren't wearing a mask either it's like if they didn't care for the safety of the public or community. If I could give them less than one star I would. They are downright dishonest. From bait and switch to not even admitting they packed my item. Do not use. I received a quote for the package and they wanted to charge me 78 dollars more even though they had all the info. They took my package boxed it up and it was damaged. They immediately came up with reasons not to cover the damages and would not inform ups of how they boxed it. Crazy. Filed a complaint with corporate who never got back to me. read more

We have been using this UPS Store for a number of years. I would agree with Wine B's most accurate accounting of the staff. So much so I'll repeat it - Wine B said: "Avoid this UPS store at all costs. By far the rudest and most apathetic staff (especially the managers) I've ever encountered in any business. The computers and printer/copy machines never work and God forbid you ask them for help without them condescending you. Not once have they suggested bargain rates or discounts unless you inquire. All they care about is money and making sure your time is wasted as much as possible, which they'll find a way to charge you for too! You're better off shipping with USPS or FedEx if outside CA or GSO if within." In addition to that, for me personally. I brought in a package, the computers were down, again, and my package was somehow lost between their store and the UPS facility in SLO. According to the store manager she said, and I'm paraphrasing here "well, it's not my fault and not my problem!" In fact, I received a call the next day from the SLO UPS facility saying they had the shipping label with no package. That was in March 2018. I've been trying desperately to find the package and made numerous calls to UPS customer service and visits back to the store etc. You can bet I didn't get any help from the store and encountered all that was said by Wine B several times over these past 2 months. A claim has now been filed, but I'd love to know where the package is! You can be very sure that I will never use that store again and encourage everyone to consider using it themselves. I just learned of a new UPS store at Staples in Paso - I'll give them a try. BTW - I received the same type of poor service now from the UPS Store on Golden Hill in Paso. If I were UPS I'd remove their name association with the pathetic so called service centers. They are far from being that. read more

I would be giving a 0 if I could. When my daughter was visiting from NY we completed a puzzle together; a keepsake. I paid to have the puzzle framed. Once the framing was completed I took it directly to the UPS store and paid to have them package it. I also purchased extra insurance to cover the value of the frame. All said and done, the shipping cost me $170.42. When my daughter received it, it was poorly packaged and the frame was cracked in two corners. She sent me pictures. I filed a claim with the store. I have made several phone calls to the store and have been promised call backs that never come. My daughter also contacted the same person I have been dealing with and she too was promised calls that never came. I called UPS directly and was told the claim wasn't properly filed by the store and therefore, they could reject the claim because the 30 day limit had expired. I phoned the UPS store back and was given the same run around. (In fact, she hung up on me because I was asking to speak with a manager.) Before she hung up, I was told the owners lived out of state and there was no one else for me to speak with regarding this matter. This all started February 6 and as of today, March 29, we have heard nothing. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VALUABLES to this store to be shipped. I have used the other UPS store in Paso Robles on Golden Hills by Lowes and can't say enough good things about them. They are not owned by the same people. Drive the extra 5-mintues knowing you are using a company that can be trusted. All total, I am out about $500! (Also, she does not wear a mask so doesn't show respect and compassion for those using her business.) read more

I am very unhappy with the level (or lack of) customer service at this location. I have used UPS stores countless times and have always left happy. That being said this location was not up to par. After using online services to locate the store and use them to print business flyers, I arrived at the store to learn that "their online printing services have been broken" and that they haven't had an urgency to fix it. After a lot of back and forth, they finally gave me the excuse that "this is a small town and these services just aren't a priority". The manager also informed me that her general manager and owner were aware of the problem but also did not feel a need to fix the online printing. I was shocked. First, I don't see Paso Robles as a small town. Second, that is no excuse. If the service doesn't work, take it off your webpage. read more

I was told I have to be in the store to do so; I said I can't forward my mail until I have an address. I was also told I can't do it by e-mail. We have been receiving our personal and business mail at this store for years. I see that there have been quite a few negative reviews, and am surprised until I thought about how easy it is for people to complain... the girls that work here always have a positive "can do" attitude. I've seen people get upset with them as if they fixed the shipping rates or can't stuff a ten foot rolled rug into an 8 foot box. Seriously have seen it happen. So to the complainers, I'm sure the rest of your day was just as shitty. But I walk in, smiling because they will greet me warmly by name, take care of whatever it is I need, and do it right. I don't understand all the bad reviews for this location. I have nothing but positive experiences at this UPS Store. Even when they are busy the ladies there are good multi-taskers taking care of drop off packages while finishing a shipment. I've had them pack many of my art projects and they arrive at their destination intact. Keep the good work up ladies. read more

I have just had the worst experience with this store. I sent my granddaughter a custom made quilt for her birthday. She lives in Redondo Beach. What she received, addressed to her, was someone else's gift and card. After several phone calls to the ups store they say they were able to find the correct pkg & will get it to her tomorrow. Sad thing is, I also shipped 2 other pkgs at the same time. Their solution when asked how I know the correct items were shipped on the other 2? Oh, give us a call when they arrive. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
