Unfortunately, our hotel did not in fact have a UPS Store in house. I looked it up prior to arrival because I thought this would be a simple return of our items when it was time to pack everything up and head back home. But when I went to where the store was to be, it was completely closed down on a floor that was under renovation and turned into a break room. So I had to find the next closest one to do my business at. This one was a few blocks away and I headed here for a purchase instead of their service. I ended up having to come here and purchase a box. Why, you might ask, because UPS damaged the box our materials were sent out in so badly we couldn't reuse it to ship it back to our home office. Job security or something of the like, I guess. When I got here I had to prepare myself. It's a step down into the area and into a cramped store. Not knowing who was in line as there is no direction in here, I kind of just jumped to the counter. Where I was met with an unenthusiastic worker. I had asked where the boxes were and was pointed towards a display that was almost behind the counter. I wasn't sure I was allowed to go near it. I found a box that would do for everything to be shipped back and made my way back to the counter to pay. How is a box so expensive? This feels like a Ponzi scheme. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I brought in a package to be shipped, the owner printed my label from their computer (I have email receipt). He affixed the wrong label to my package and gave me a receipt for that wrong label. I didn't know until I was charged $209.50 for a non-return fee 3 months later. I went to the store to speak with him and file a claim. He acted as if I did something wrong - because he would never make a mistake. I showed all receipts and explained that he printed the label from his store and affixed the wrong label and gave me a receipt for the wrong address. He said he would call me in a few days. It's been almost a month. I call several times a week and no one ever answers and the mailbox is full. I'm disappointed that I will not recoup my $209.50 because I can't even file a claim with UPS online. read more

UPS says this place opens at 9 and has weekend hours. I travel two miles and get there at 10 on a weekday. Door sign says open at noon and no weekends. To say nothing of the icky location. It doesn't help that UPS didn't even try to deliver, said they did, and sent it here against my wishes. The UPS store in the Pearl wasn't great but it sure beat this dump. Worst experience I've ever had in any business in my life. I go in, wait in line to return an Amazon package. I can't get on the Internet because it's asking for the guest pw. The man at the counter tells me to walk to another part of the store to see if the Internet works w/o the pw because he says the pw was to long. It didn't. I asked again for the pw and this black woman who says she's the mgr tells me to get back in line to get the pw. I explain I was already in line and I just the pw to pull up the Amazon info before getting back in line. She started screaming at me in the store and tells me to get out. I leave but in front of the store I call UPS customer service to talk to someone about what just happened. She comes out and start harassing me in front of the store, even though I walked past the entrance to another area. She keeps recording me and harassing me til I cross the same, as I'm on the phone with UPS she starts wanting to fight me. I'm 63 and disabled. I call for a cab and when it arrives she video tapes the mans license and bangs on his window, then she tells him not to let me in the car as she is still video taping me. She also pulled down her pants and to show the world her ugly ass. She said the owner lets her behave this way as she is the manager and has been for 4 yrs. I'm going to have to file a police report due to her aggressive behavior. read more

I've been a mailbox customer for over a decade. Until late 2021, service at this location was consistent and great--even through the Justice Center protests of 2020, which happened blocks away. At some point they lost all of their staff and now it's a crapshoot as to whether the place will be open or whether someone will be there to accept packages. When it is open, the interior is disorganized and there's rarely enough staff to deal with customers in a timely manner. read more

I went into the store at 3:45 on a Monday and no one was there after waiting a couple of minutes I said " hello, is anyone here?" an employee named diesel came out and asked me not to ask if anyone is here. I use this UPS store almost every night, dropping off packages and envelopes for my office. My interactions are almost always with the two women in the store, and every time I come in they greet me with smiles and are ready to help. Last night I was late getting down the street, came racing in with packages in my hand, and in unison they shouted, "He's out there right now, hurry, you'll catch him!" so I was able to get my packages to the UPS driver. The atmosphere I've encountered here is always positive. Nice folks. read more

I rented a box here over 10 years ago and no matter what I do, this address appears and reappears with credit agencies as my current address. Sure, could be the next renter there or any number of creepy explanations, but my experience was bad enough that I suspect the store itself. I had to send my modem back to Century Link today after getting a new internet service provider. They sent me a pre-printed return label, and all I had to do was package the modem up, use the label, and drop it off at a UPS Store. I walked in the front door and was greeted quickly and in a friendly manner by the clerk. She took the package, scanned the label, and gave me a receipt, and then after a "thank you" and "you're welcome," I was right back out the door and headed home. It's pretty much all you could want in a transaction: professional, friendly, quick, courteous, and smooth. It's obvious the store owners train their employees well. I'm impressed. read more

Meh.... DON'T BOOK AN ONLINE APPOINTMENT FOR NOTARY! Came in for a 1pm appointment I booked online a few days before, received email confirmation and a reminder. Walked in with a smile and hello, cut off and told by the very curt man working, who proceeding to walk away from me and up some stairs (maybe that's where they do the notary?), that "We don't do notary appointments, it's a 3rd party booking.. (something something mumbly).... follow me." I'm right behind him and he turns and says rudely "DON'T FOLLOW ME"... um, what? You're mumbling at me, walking away from me, and then threw in an order at the end I couldn't hear? How about a "Oh this is staff only..." Something simple and kind? How dare I give you a nice cheery hello and made an appointment this store somehow doesn't take? Weird, rude interaction. OK FINE I get it you're in a busy downtown area, I'm sure he's seen it all and is under strict orders to keep the stairs customer free. He brings down with him a, somewhat kinder, woman who loudly says "No more notaries today please!" to the man... I'm standing there while they (maybe jokingly) argue about "Who's customer this is" (me) .... can I get a freaking notary service please!!! Can you not talk about me while I'm standing there? She ended up being fine and was quick, got in and out quickly. Extra star for her after she calmed down and spoke to me instead of about me. I heard the man be curt and condescending to two other customers in the store and thought, "Maybe you're having a bad day? Maybe you got yelled at for not monitoring the precious precious stairway to heaven? Or maybe, just maybe, you are a rude man." OH! PS: These stairs are at the front left of the store, there are no signs, no troll you have to answer riddles to gain entry, no blockade. I've been using this store for probably 10 years. I used to have a mailbox here and any time I need to mail something, this is where I go. Staff turnover is low, low, low and the quality of service is accordingly high. Prices are affordable compared to places like Kinko's and I've never had any questions brushed off or run into a problem because the person behind the counter didn't follow through, even the handful of times I've sent something to Europe. read more

I went into the store yesterday to mail my sons Blue Star Donuts. No easy task to ship and keep fresh but Jeff helped out so very much. We put the box in a space bag and he sucked the air out with his vacuum and he then proceeded to pack it for shipping. All of the employees at this store are outstanding and go out of their way to give excellent service at the best price for the customer. I can't recommend this store highly enough. Pretty satisfied with the service I received today. The PSU location is a nightmare and I refuse to go back - they should take a few pointers on how they handle customer service at SW 3rd. The employees were friendly, courteous and extremely helpful with the transaction at hand. I accomplished exactly what I needed to and got out quick. I'm a public speaker and often need to print handouts. I have a "duplicating card" at the 818 3rd Avenue location and do my printing there regularly. When I ran into difficulty with one of the duplicating machines (it printed my handout incorrectly), I was pleased with the professional, understanding way in which the manager, Jim Arena, handled the situation. Not only did he restore the number of copies I had used to my duplicating card (over 200), but he gave me a couple of simple solutions so that I can avoid the problem in the future. I drove all the way out to a shipping customer center in north Portland to have some delicate and large items packaged for shipping and they didn't even have the correct supplies to do so... After waiting fifteen minutes for the associate to look for bubble wrap, I left and came back downtown, in rush hour, to this UPS store. Leesa was amazing, and a total life-saver... Even though they were busy with holiday traffic, they processed everyone quickly and efficiently. And managed to handle my complicated shipping order with grace and speed. FAIL! Dropped by last Friday with a wrapped 16"x20" framed print to get packaged and shipped out for Christmas. Store quoted me $80 for packaging material and $40 to ship it out Monday 12/14/15 ground for arrival on 12/21/15 for a grand total of $120.....I left. The following morning I went to my local UPS Store and was quoted $20 for same packaging and $30 to ship out Monday 12/14 arriving 12/21 for a grand total of $50. Same prep, insurance, everything. I have worked downtown for 22 years and will never give them my business again. Thank goodness for my HONEST local UPS Store owner.... read more
