My attorney told me to use this UPS location to get two documents notarized. I went on line to make my appointment and received a confirmation. On Sunday, I received another confirmation. I called on Monday 3 different times before my 2pm appointment and no one answered the phone. I walked up Mason Street and went to the office on the lower level of the hotel. When I walked in and told the customer service I have an appointment for notary service. He said we don't have your appointment. I showed him my confirmation and said I even called 3 times before I made my way to your location. I am trying to understand this...make appointment get confirmation get second confirmation ...the store does not have my confirmation ‍‍‍ all I got was I don't have my notary items here at the store and we didn't get anything on our system. There are two ways to access this store: 1) Via the street entrance on California St, located next door to Tonga. 2) Via the elevator within the Fairmont Hotel. It is located on the "T" floor (two 2 levels down from the ground floor via their elevator.) Fantastic, friendly staff. Conveniently opened on Sundays until 3 PM. read more

just moved into the neighborhood and i was surprised to find this little hidden gem! was there on Friday evening at 5:10 and the clerk was counting the register. Jay was kind enough to open the gate to let me in and helped me with my shipping needs. it was quick and easy. i cant believe how polite and courteous he was even when it was during his closing time. this location will always be my go to from now on and i promise next time i will go during your normal operating business hours. read more

Don't bother making this location your UPS access point. I came to pick up my package during their regularly scheduled business hours on a Saturday only to find them closed. I called on Monday to inquire about their hours and let them know I had stopped by, and the man who answered wasn't sure why they had been closed on Saturday but told me I could come by any time during the week to pick up my package. I specifically noted that I was worried the package would be returned to sender but was told not to worry, that they would hold it for me and that it *would not* be returned. Today (Thursday) I went to pick it up only to find they had indeed returned it to sender. I am absolutely furious. To add insult to injury, I had a separate package to pick up that had been delivered to the access point TWO DAYS prior and they told me they didn't have it, that the hotel in which this access point sits still needed to sort through their mail and deliver the package to the UPS store. This is a common occurrence despite the fact that customers receive UPS email notifications that explicitly say that the package is ready for pickup. In this instance, I received that notification on Tuesday and the package was still not there in the late afternoon on Thursday. I guess you're just magically supposed to know when your package is truly ready to be picked up. The whole encounter was absurd and has left me hopping mad. I immediately called UPS and filed a complaint against this store and requested that my packages be rerouted elsewhere from now on. Inefficient, dishonest, unreliable service. Oh my God, service is painful. I think the guy working needs an admin or something to come in and do all the copy/print jobs. It took, no joke, nearly 30 minutes to make 18 copies of a newspaper article. He stood, he thought, he folded the paper, he did test prints, he thought some more, refolded the paper some more. . . . oh it was agonizing. I wanted to just leave him out of the equation entirely and do it myself. He was nice, and I didn't want to be mean because I thought maybe he wasn't functioning at full capacity given how monumental this task seemed for him, so I'll chalk it up to that, but if I can never ever have to print anything here again that would be great. read more

As others have mentioned, it's generally less crowded than some of the other Union Square locations so your chances of waiting long are reduced. Staff are reasonably friendly IF they're not playing games or checking Facebook etc... As others have noted, their rates & business practices are a total rip off, their business model is clearly predicated on the "I don't care as my company is paying for it " business traveller oblivious to usual rates. So, unless you've done everything at home including pre-paying all charges OR you're a business traveller, it's an avoidance - worthy ripoff read more

The absolute worst experience and service. I sent a PDF (4 color pages to be printed 11x17). All you have to do is press print and this is done. Sent the file Sunday at 10PM . Store opened at 7:30 and I received confirmation the files was received. called at 10am and they had no idea about my order. Attendant said he would print and deliver by 10:30. I paid $12 for delivery. I called at 11:15 and no idea where my file was and no ability to deliver- after saying they would. I have no idea what this place is smoking. read more

They charged almost $103 for a small package (less than 1/2 lb and envelope size) for next day air then didn't deliver it. They did nothing to assist in locating the package, refunding the money or otherwise assisting to resolve the situation. I wish I could give negative stars. So i went back to ship some stuff. Just a envelope overnight to LA. The guy charge me 50 buck. Really...I told him online is cheaper. And ask him is the online price quote the different from this ups store. he told me maybe i got the measurement or weight. wrong.... I ask him for the measure went over the the business center(p.s business center is expensive the minimum charge for a piece of paper is five fucking dollar!!!) type in the measure came back with a of total 9 buck. REALLY!!!! this UPS is a scam. DONT GO HERE. Boxes are 7 buck when you can go to staple or fedex for 2 buck!!! and they do have these surcharge and hidden FEE. they even try to charge me for an express envelope when it is free. read more

I can't say enough good things about this UPS store, located in the Fairmont Hotel with the entrance on California street. They have always been incredibly polite and helpful with my packages and mailing needs. For example, once I had to ship several boxes back to a seller as a return. The clerk here realized that I could use a smaller box and ship for less money. He helped me open and cut down my box size to better fit the contents. I paid for the mailing tape, but of course it always comes in handy later. But today, I have to tell you about the "Above and Beyond" customer service they provided. With only 5 minutes to closing, I had to run a package over to get it delivered--the day after Christmas. I phoned ahead, and ran all the way up Powell Hill and California to get there...the clerk waited for me.
