THIS UPS STORE IS UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT! The employees are upbeat, articulate, informed, and efficient. I had a complicated three-item shipment and they gave me all the options voluntarily--I didn't have to ask. Everyone was cheerful, even though the store was full of customers with a variety of different needs. If you were here "before," you won't believe the difference in atmosphere and service. The women staffing the store today went beyond good customer service: they were genuine, LISTENED CAREFULLY, and openly helpful. Give it another chance; you'll be glad (and relieved) that you did. I was apprehensive coming into this store given the reviews I read but in sure glad I took a chance. The two ladies in this store Kelly and Michelle were awesome. We had an antique that we bought after a day of wine drinking that needed to be shipped home with us. Michelle sized up the package, recommended double boxing it and bubble wrap. She said she would float the box in another box that would keep is safe as well as bubble wrap the piece itself. She took enough time and care wrapping it up and ensuring a safe passage for our little antique. I would recommend coming here for your packing needs. Other folks that walked in knew them by name. The store is fairly busy and the ladies at very responsive and courteous. Our little shipping expedition cost us about $50 which was cheaper than I was expecting. DO NOT SHIP WINE FROM HERE...or anything for that matter. We had a lovely time wine tasting and wine purchasing but sadly used this location to ship our wine. Huge mistake! Yes, we paid the extra for a "special" wine shipping box but no matter, it all arrived damaged - then shipped right back. Thank goodness we paid extra for insurance. We should never have used this location in the first place. The staff was beyond rude when we arrived. We're from the East Coast so we certainly are accustomed to a bit of the "cold-all about business" attitude but these employees are much more interested in chatting with each other. I'm always amazed at how a business can sustain itself with such poor service. Anyway, I'm heading back there this Winter and will never step foot in this store again!!!!! They make New Yorkers seem incredibly friendly! read more

I (used) to go to this UPS store in Sonoma until recently; I used their fax service every week until they dropped the ball and* never* called me to let me know my time sensitive fax didn't transmit. On top of this their customer service is ridiculously terrible...I've been in that store every week for at least six months and they act like Im interrupting there day and they don't know me. We also had some of his favorite paintings - large heavy items - and manager Michelle not only handled everything quickly and extremely efficiently but was kind and knowledgeable as well. Came here a while ago to ship something. The staff was TERRIBLE!!! They basically ignored me and talked about their weekend. After I filled out the paperwork, they just left my box on the counter...there was nothing else to do, there was no one else in the store. Why not pack it up right then? It's ok if coworkers catch up, but when then ignore a customer because of their conversation, that really annoys me. Next time, I'm FedExing my things! read more

Went in for a small box to carry 2 bottles of beer, middle age lady pipes up " We don't ship beer". OK, didn't really say I was going to but hey. The one star is not for the girls that had helped me Friday evening this star is for the UPS Driver that yelled at one of the girls. The reason for my review is in hopes of that girl not getting in trouble since I overheard everything while I was getting a notary done. I thought that the driver was so unprofessional to act in such a way especially in front of me; a customer. I hope the manager reads my review in regards of the employee that literally got bullied by the driver over boxes which is his job to pick up boxes and your employee was from what I saw doing other tasks that look job related to me. I heard the driver tell her she doesn't do anything when I saw her working while her coworker was busy with me. The girl getting yelled at by this driver handled herself in a professional manner and told him he could talk to her manager while he was still yelling. I give your employee credit for handling herself,although she did look teary eyed and I felt so horrible for her for what she just had experienced. I just hope my review is read so this poor girl doesn't get in trouble over a lazy driver. read more

My husband and I brought in many items to be packaged and shipped today. Being the Christmas season, Michelle and her staff were busy. However, Michelle was very professional and told us immediately she would be with us as soon as possible. I have used this store before and been helped by the manager who is plenty smart, gracious and knows her stuff. Today I was sending a package and was helped by a 20ish young woman who wasn't rude, but without any interpersonal skills whatsoever. After putting the box on the scale, she leaned on the box with her arm. Was she trying to up the weight or test the package? The cost was an eye-popping $28 and the staffer was easy to take offense to. 50% of me feels ripped off and the other 50% says the scale is self-correcting and the young woman lacks the skills necessary to wait on customers, but wasn't cheating me. Either way, I won't be taking packages to them again. read more

OK...I must be honest...this store used to be HORRIBLE! Staff was difficult, and aloof, store was dirty, and they made you wait for ages to be served..their attitude was 'We are doing you a favor by helping you..." Well I was SUPER excited to learn they are now under new management ...and the folks who have taken over this store are the amazing people who run the UPS store on Calistoga Rd. I had actually stopped going too Sonoma UPS store, and started driving all the way to the Calistoga Road store because their service is, and always has been the very best I have ever experienced in a UPS store. The start the UPSstore Calistoga Rd (who will now be working in Sonoma as well) literally cannot do enough to help you..whether faxing, or doing emails, or getting a notary or just shipping...they actually make an activity I have always dreaded into fun and uplifting few moments. Then another employee came out, looked at me waiting, said nothing and engaged in a conversation with the woman about how she does not trust some companies, totally ignoring me. The UPS is under new management and the employees can give a lot less attitude toward the costumers. If they are not prepared with the necessary documents that they use to have for years then they r losing clients and the end result is running out of business. I have been coming to this store for 15 years. Ever since the new ownership took over the service is terrible. Very slow, nobody seems to have any fire in them to get things done. Even the new owners. Really has gone downhill. Also now they are charging for drop offs. read more

I've worked with the UPS Store in Sonoma for many years and have always found the service to be exceptional! The staff is well informed regarding shipping and provides excellent help with regard to copying, printing and Notary services as well. The staff has very low turnover, so they know the customers and provide what is needed in a timely and friendly fashion. We are lucky to have such a great group working here in Sonoma. read more

While I never had a problem with the prior owner(s) of this franchise operations, the new owners have improved staffing and customer service in a noticeable way. I read the negative reviews about this store and went in expecting less than stellar service. I was really surprised, and happily so. Everyone working there was pleasant, warm, friendly, more than helpful One of the women helped me load a box and tape it up, then assisted me with another large box. It wasn't their job to do so---I should have come in with it already done, but I was running out of time and had to ship out that day.
