This UPS location is the best! In spite of how busy it can get, it runs like a well oiled machine thus the wait time is negligible. The staff is friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and professional. A special shout out to Jamie, the location manager. I had the pleasure of working with her recently. I had a lot of items that needed to be shipped to CT. From start to finish...getting my items ready to be shipped to even helping with a claim that needed to be filed with UPS after delivery of my items, Jamie helped me with every step in the process. I was most appreciative when she checked in to see if I needed help with my claim. Jamie didn't just send me an email address for me to figure out the next steps. She followed up and even helped me send off my claim. Without her help, I'm not sure I would have gotten my claim paid so promptly. Excellent fast service. They even taped my package for me! It was an Amazon return but nice nevertheless.

Be sure to provide your own box. I was charged $23.99 for a two foot by two foot box. Check out USPS flat rate boxes if you can. I view a $20 dollar profit on a cardboard box as excessive. read more

The worst customer service and management I have ever experienced in the area. I paid $45+ to ship a small item express and Saturday delivery only to never get the item until it was sent back to the store over a month later. I had to follow-up every step to locate the package, get it back and WAS NEVER ISSUED A REFUND FOR THE DELIVERY COST. The franchise stores and the company DO NOT work together in the best interest of their customers and both point fingers at each other leaving the customer high and dry. I will never use this or any other UPS store. Customers, be aware of their practices and understand that when you pay them money for a service and that service is not performed, they keep your money. After making a frustrating and expensive mistake in an Amazon order, I found myself with two very heavy boxes of copy paper that needed to be shipped back. I wish I remembered the name of the employee that helped me, but he was very friendly and gracious. He carried the boxes in from my car for me and then carried them back to my car when I realized how expensive the shipping was going to be. The next day he carried them in for me again after I figured out a different shipping option that was more affordable. He did it all with a smile. I don't need to ship things very often, but whenever I do this UPS store is always efficient and the employees are kind and helpful. read more

A return package was paid for on January 31st and the tracking number shows it in TRANSIT in TRAVERSE CITY...code for UPS STORE lost the pacakge. I was involved with an out of state purchase and transaction with a resident in Traverse City. I live in Florida. Erin helped broker the deal for me by providing excellent customer service way above and beyond the regular activities of boxing and shipping an item. She stored a rather large sign for 2 weeks until the seller and I could figure out the best way to get the item from MI to FL. She also recommended insurance and other important suggestions during the crating and packaging process that ensured that my precious cargo arrived in Florida safe and damage free. The customer service at this UPS store is abysmal. My 81 year old father went in to ship a foot locker to his grandson (my son). This is something we do annually, and, typically, the service has been very helpful. This year, the service person refused to put the foot locker in a box (which obviously incurs a significant additional fee), never offered insurance to my father (which my father unfortunately forgot to ask to purchase) and did not help my father lift the heavy item at all. It used to be that UPS refused to ship this type of item without boxing it first so I am surprised at this employee's adamant refusal. Personally, I think this employee was just plain lazy and did not want to bother, even though it would have produced more revenue. With all the options available to consumers these days, I suggest you take your shipping business elsewhere. read more

We were visiting Traverse City from out-of-state and needed to ship home some food items [mostly cherries!] we'd bought that we couldn't fit in our luggage. Picking this store as the closest, we dropped off half-a-dozen items--mostly glass jars--and had them shipped home to us. They arrived today, and I was pleased that they had been VERY well packed--far better than we could have done ourselves. The one glitch was that the package was a few days late in arriving, due to an error in the zip code entered on the shipping label. Two of the digits had been transposed when the clerk entered it into their system, resulting in an undeliverable address to a city 70 miles away. When I saw what was happening on the tracking data, I examined my copy of the shipping label, and saw the bad address. I called the store and explained the problem. The person who took my call was very helpful, said she'd look into it, and get back to me. Five minutes later she called back to report that UPS had already fixed it. The package arrived the next day. Although they had made a mistake with the address [which I hadn't checked at the time], they were very responsive once I notified them of the error. I would do business with them again. read more

i had to choose a shipper in traverse city to handle a large box being sent to me by a third-party. shipper to drop off, i pay. not only was the UPS store's estimate for shipping + insurance within ONE DOLLAR of the actual cost, it was less than half the low estimate i received over the phone from the "barely able to care" airport road shipper. i dealt with two different erins at UPS, both brilliant - best long-distance relationship ever! thank you UPS Traverse City, you guys rule! read more
