I needed to have a book disassembled (it was spiral-bound), copied and then rebound. I chose it wait for it to be done. Bonnie was extremely helpful. I sat in a chair and waited while she either did the work or oversaw what I needed done. I'm sorry, I did not catch the name of the other person. Not a sexy review, but a useful one nonetheless! The required document was 217 pages long, and surely would've crippled any home printer handily. Frankly, they can barely print a boarding pass -- let alone a huge hulking PDF. I groaned at the thought of visiting a print shop like Staples, but I should not have feared! I easily submitted the files through their online system. Clicked "pay when I get there" -- and very shortly received an email that the order was ready. Well worth the $5 rush fee, though I'm pretty sure they weren't very busy and printing black and white documents doesn't really take much more effort, but hey -- time is money at Staples, too. The girl at the counter was helpful with the print order and then the turnaround to ship them out UPS also smooth. All in all -- not nearly the kerfuffle I usually associate with these types of stores. Easy in, easy out...done and dusted! Would definitely use the online printing system again. This is what a better office supply store would look like if it was a stoner, slept on a couch in its parents' basement, didn't shower and lived on a diet of pizza and Monster energy drinks. The store feels disordered and dirty. The staff are not helpful and not very knowledgeable. The new card readers at checkout do not allow the staff to enter your card number if your card doesn't swipe. I doubt this is actually the case but this is what the disheveled and confused staff person told me. Almost anything you can buy at this store can be bought for a lower price at Meijer or Walmart. Traverse City also offers several locally owned copy shops and office supply stores. Capitalism at its worst. Pass. read more
