Tips: - Purolator does not accept PO box addresses…read more - Staff are incompetent when it comes to getting a Purolator pickup location. Rather than doing a search themselves, they called me to do an internet search on their behalf. TL;DR - I despise Purolator. It took over a month to get a shipment to me. It was the perfect storm having my FlexDelivery address (Canada Post PO box number) with The Shopping Channel (TSC) for this item and not knowing that the manufacturer would be shipping it through Purolator instead. My neighbourhood gets a power outage now and again. In February, there was a power outage for over two hours. I used my cell phone as my hotspot to work on my laptop, which I nearly depleted the battery before the outage was over. A week later, I was watching TSC with my mom. An EcoFlow portable power station was 50% off. It felt right to buy it after enduring this power outage. I can continue to power devices and more. The description didn't say that PO box addresses weren't accepted. I use a FlexDelivery address, as Canada Post isn't great delivering packages to my home. For some reason, similar to UPS, drivers fail to ring the doorbell, knock on the door, or even leave a note like they used to say that they had attempted a delivery. The FlexDelivery address ensures that my packages go to my local post office. Everyone knows me there and are great holding my packages, even longer than the maximum 15-day limit. March 11 - EcoFlow shipped this item out. I was stateside the following day. March 16 - I got a voice message from Purolator. Allegedly, a delivery was attempted, but they don't delivery to PO boxes. It stated that I needed to call Rogers, which was confusing. TSC is owned by Rogers. I'm guessing that's what the person meant. I could not make the address change with Purolator because EcoFlow put an address restriction on this order. Such a pain. I called TSC to explain that I needed the delivery address changed to a local Purolator location. I was in Minnesota and did not want this delivery to happen when I'm not home. The woman was great specifying Peoples Drug Mart in Scarborough. She sent off the e-mail to Purolator. She also shared my home address with Purolator Later that same day, I got another voice message from Purolator from another woman. She said that she needed my home address. Well, that detail was shared by TSC to you. This woman went on about not being able to deliver to a PO box. Yes, I know. I specified through TSC that I wanted to pick it up at Peoples Drug Mart. In the voice message, she seems confused. I contacted TSC again to ensure that my home address was specified in the e-mail. The woman confirmed that it was there and also sent another e-mail to Purolator. Guess what? Purolator sent the package back to EcoFlow on March 19. Why? Purolator cited not getting my address. That issue is between Purolator and TSC. I know that TSC did it. It's sheer incompetence on Purolator's part. March 20 - I got a call from Sarah at TSC. I am super annoyed that the description for this item does not spell out that no PO boxes are allowed for the address. Purolator as the carrier is a huge deviation. I basically told her that if I can't get this shipment delivered to Peoples Drug Mart, I'd be more than happy to cancel this order. As a customer, I shouldn't be dealing with Purolator and TSC to orchestrate fixing my home address and getting this delivery to a Purolator pickup location with an address restriction placed by EcoFlow. March 31 - Props go to Anchal at TSC for getting the reshipment done. She let me know what the new tracking number was and that it would be heading to Peoples Drug Mart. Excellent! Well, so I thought. April 9 - Yes, Purolator called me again. It's apparently missing the unit number for Peoples Drug Mart and asked me to provide it. This Purolator location is in their system. Why can't you pull up the unit number? I call Purolator. I got a woman. She says that she needs the unit number for Peoples Drug Mart. My response? "Oh, you can't do a search online for Peoples Drug Mart like I did?" I heard a slight snicker. How about you take that snicker and put it to good use by doing your job? I find that every Purolator staffer that I have dealt with for this shipment has been incompetent beyond belief. I should not be doing your dirty work to provide a unit number for your Purolator hub location. It's in your system. Figure it out. Leave the customer, me, alone. Of note, the drugstore doesn't have a unit number. Purolator = Pure incompetence. I get this woman to get Purolator's act together. The address on file is correct. There is no unit number at this drugstore and your hub. Get on with it. April 10 - Shipment is at the hub. April 11 - I picked it up in person. It took a over month from placing the order to picking it up. Purolator is inefficient. Staff are incompetent. Simply a horrific experience. (165)

UPS Customer Centre - My package was delivered. It was left on my doorstep in the rain. There is a mailbox on the left that could have been used.

My previous phone, the 8 Pro, started losing its charge rapidly within the last couple of months. Bummer, as I loved that phone that was over two years old. I ordered my new phone from the Google Store. I got an estimated shipping date. Shipping this phone to my home required a signature. It makes sense. It's an expensive device. Phones aren't cheap! My shipment was scheduled for Tuesday, April 7. Great! On this Tuesday, I got an e-mail saying that my shipment would be delivered on Wednesday, April 8. A day later would have been okay, except that I'd be at work. There was no way for me to change the delivery to my local UPS store. After having lunch at home on Tuesday, I checked my inbox and I got a UPS message saying that my order was delivered. I was home on Tuesday for the entire day. The UPS person neither knocked, nor rang the doorbell. The instructions say to get a signature. The UPS person placed the box on my doorstep and left. My phone was out in the elements for nearly two hours. Not cool. I got a store credit from Google. The funds were enough to get a pair of Google Pixel Buds 2a, which are the budget-friendly earbuds that supposedly fit better in your ears. I typically don't do well with such types of earbuds. It was UPS delivery again. No signature was required this time. No change of date. Nice! I wasn't home when the delivery happened on Monday, April 13. The package was left on my doorstep. It was raining that day. It wasn't off to the side of my doorstep, away from the rain. It wasn't placed in my mailbox on the side. It was placed directly in the rain. I called my dad and asked if he could swing by after my parents were done having lunch to pick up my wet box. He did, thank goodness! UPS is the lesser of the two evils when you put Purolator in the mix. UPS delivers. It simply leaves packages out in the open for potential porch thieves to swoop in and take them. UPS drivers can neither read, nor use their frail arms. My first package said that it required a signature from me. I never signed for the package. It was left on my step without ringing the doorbell or knocking on my door. Pitiful. I would have been upset if someone had stolen both my deliveries from my doorstep. I'm pleased that my earbuds were dry after the box containing them was left in the rain. Such a dumb move on the UPS driver's part. I pass by this UPS location weekly when I'm driving home from work. It's across from York University. Decent location. However, I feel that a refresher course on what it means to deliver a package that requires a signature is in order. (164)

Recently I wanted my vintage Nakamichi cassette deck repaired. I found a Nakamichi technician in…read moreMichigan, USA who offered to do the repair. I spoke to him and sent my deck across the border to him through Canada Post. He did the repair and sent the deck back to me via UPS. I soon after received notice that they would be delivering my deck but there was a border fee of $209. This sounded high to me so I contacted Canada Customs and explained the details of this shipment. They informed me that my border fee should be $93 and that they constantly received complaint about UPS of the same nature as my complaint. They informed me that I could do a 'self clearance' of the parcel by coming into their office in Malton and paying the $93 and receive a Proof of Payment document to take to UPS to have my parcel released. I then contacted UPS and let them know that I had contacted Canada Customs with concerns over the high fees. In short, they was very reluctant but did admit (after a 20 minute conversation/argument) that they had indeed over-charged me and I did only owned $93. I think it had something to do with the fact that I let them know that I was considering taking legal action against UPS over this. Spitefully, they informed me that they would not deliver my deck until I went to the customs office to get the Proof of Payment document, then scan and email a copy to them. I did that. It was a 4 and a half hour trip to do that I emailed them this Proof of Payment document and received a response from them. They informed me that it would take 24 hours to process my request after which time they would deliver my deck. I am still waiting for my package! I also believe this is likely a directive from their head office to add addition fees to all deliveries. I can't believe that is just my local UPS outlet that is perpetuating this fraud. My fear is that is nationwide. Let's face it, when a UPS delivery guy comes to your door with a package and wants a border fee, most will automatically pay what they ask not knowing they are likely being gouged. They just want their package. I certainly have been telling all my friends and family of this ordeal, strongly suggesting they never patronize UPS. I also considered making a video of complaint to post on YouTube. Avoid UPS like the plague!

She was incredible--super detail-oriented and always quick to get back to me with answers to my (many) questions. She made sure every single document was on order and kept me updated throughout the whole procedure. It's so rare to find people who actually care about making things easy for you, but that's exactly what Sara did. I felt totally confident that everything was being handled properly, and it took a huge weight off my shoulders. If your looking to ship internationally and want a team that knows their stuff and keeps you in the loop, Viamar Scilla is the way to go. Can't thank Sara enough.

I was told the crate would leave mid July, and they would pick up the beginning of July. Pick up scheduled for July 4th. The movers were quick and professional and had everything loaded quickly. After that zero communication from viamar until August 10th saying that the ship had departed August 2 (so not mid July), with an extra charge for extra cubic footage. (which you can't argue with when you weren't the one packing it, and didn't receive any photos showing the overage... fine) It got held up in Rotterdam in customs, and then again in England. (not their fault at all ~ I understand that they have no control over customs and inspections) Communication was horrible during the entire thing. We ended up reaching out to them for updates because they were not keeping us up to date while things were being delayed for weeks in customs. Finally get a delivery date ~ October 2. (this was 3 months after the boxes left our house.) Truck arrives and the boxes are tossed all over the back of the truck. They had used one rope to tie down the boxes, and the rope broke, so everything was all over the place. Every single box was damaged, ripped or crushed. My husband's toolbox was broken, as well as 7 picture frames, 2 sculptures, and 2 kitchen storage containers, a clock, and some plastic storage containers. (and one of the boxes had been eaten through by a mouse or rat, and they ate through my husband's pants that were in the box...) I thought, its ok ~ Afterall we paid for the $20,000 insurance coverage.... Nope ~ that only covers total loss of all of your belongings. They also lost 1 of our boxes (presumably the one that "didn't fit" on our pallet) ~ reached out multiple times via email ~ and I was told that they would look for the box at their Toronto warehouse (meanwhile the box could have gone missing at any one of the stops that the crate made...)
