Looked online for their Sunday hours. Clearly says open till 3pm. Hurriedly got ready and drove there to drop off an Amazon return. Place is locked and closed! Even the hours in the window say open till 3pm. Annoying because it wasted my time and gas. Listen, I don't care if you're closed on Sundays - that's totally fine - but don't claim that you're open and waste people's time. You wouldn't want people to do that to you, I'm sure. read more

What could you improve? EVERYTHING! Start off with maybe not allowing your employees to lie. We brought TWO cans of bear spray to this location to have shipped back to our home after calling and ensuring it was feasible. Mind you we were there on vacation so I had zero packing supplies with us. The female employee took both cans, and packaged them herself, and we were sent on our way. Now almost 2 months later, still no package. UPS denied our claim because they said it was packaged incorrectly. Well, seems like the employee packed it incorrectly, then LIED and said my husband packed it. They also had to nerve to say it was only one can! He spoke to the owner who basically called my husband a liar. Truly unbelievable and disgusting. We will be contacting the main UPS company to investigate further. At this point it's not even about the $$$, we don't need it. This is about shady business wronging people. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS. Do yourself a favor and drive down to the postal annex in the super one parking lot and support that business. The woman who owns it is friendly and helpful. For context, my business does between $50-75,000 PER MONTH of shipping with UPS. When a package runs through a local store they are credited via UPS. Most of the staff is friendly, but there is one male employee who is always so incredibly rude to me that I will never patronize this store again. Every time I've been to the store he is rude, it's clear he hates his job and he hates the people coming into that store. I feel like he goes out of his way to be salty. Beyond shipping, I frequently buy supplies and use the printing services at this store but I'm afraid to go in there and have any interactions with this specific employee. read more

I dropped off a sewing machine to be shipped to MN and paid extra to have it insured for $200.00 When arrived they did not ring the door bell and we had to pickup at the store. The case was cracked and I wanted reimbursement for the. Case but the UPS store wanted the sewing machine too. Needless to say we said no thanks. Would not recommend this service to ship anything. This is additional commentary to my original review posted on 11/06/2020. Yesterday (10/03/21) I was approached by Patty Olson, one of the owners of the Whitefish UPS Store. She stopped me in a grocery store aisle on an otherwise lovely Sunday afternoon and stated she had been wanting to respond to my negative review posted 10 months ago. She stated my name, the first time I've ever heard her say it in all the years I patronized her business. Evidently, she has been harboring great resentment against me since at least 2009, the year my husband temporarily rented office space in the Mountain Mall where the UPS Store was formerly located. Patty accused me of brushing her off when she tried to sell me additional services at the time, claiming I had stated I only wanted a copy card. Truth be known, I indeed needed only a copy card and mail drop services at the time. Our office copy machine hadn't been installed and the UPS Store was a convenient stop just mere steps from our temporary office in the mall. I recall popping into their mall store multiple times a week. I tried to chat them up, but their attitude was cold and that's when I realized that despite my attempts at being friendly, they just couldn't reciprocate. Certainly, if I had rubbed Patty the wrong way by not purchasing the full gamut of services they offered (SERVICES THAT WE NEITHER NEEDED NOR COULD AFFORD AT THE TIME), I apologize for disappointing her. HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE WHAT PATTY SAID YESTERDAY IN THE GROCERY STORE AFTER I REMINDED HER ABOUT HER STORE'S TREATMENT OF ME: "You buy a cheap copy card and that's what you get." Then she made a hand gesture toward me as if waving off an annoying gnat and added, "You were just a small account. We don't need your business." As she started walking away, I told her that customer service should be good regardless of what a customer spends. I then stated that the Kalispell UPS Store had gained many customers after they suffered rude service at the Whitefish location. As Patty turned the corner, her attitude both defiant and haughty, she sneered at me, "Well, we get many customers from Columbia Falls. We don't need your business." FOR PUBLIC RECORD, I have spent much more than a mere $20 copy card at the Whitefish UPS Store. Today I spent my morning researching business records dated between 2009 and 2015 and have receipts to prove purchases at the Whitefish UPS Store. Though I haven't retained records for personal purchases, I recall numerous times I patronized Patty's store to ship items I sold on Ebay, purchase envelopes and tape as well as printing off thousands of copies of Christmas newsletters and manuals for the budgeting classes my husband and I taught). I've patronized the Whitefish UPS Store since at least the early to mid-2000s, way back when it was Mail Boxes, Etc. In recent years, I dropped off dozens of Amazon returns at the Whitefish location. I understand the UPS Store receives $1 for each return processed. On November 6thof 2020, the date I posted my review, I was officially DONE with doing business at the Whitefish UPS Store. For years I tolerated their treatment of me which ranged from ignoring my presence, being indifferent, scowling, being downright cold and abrupt and making me feel like I was an immense bother to them. Then a family member suffered surly service and out of the woodwork came many friends who shared the negative interchanges they endured at the Whitefish UPS Store. I FIRMLY STAND BY MY ORIGINAL REVIEW BUT NOW WITH GREATER ALARM FOLLOWING YESTERDAY'S NASTY ENCOUNTER WITH PATTY. I am VERY concerned over her false accusations of me and VERY unsettled about her false perceptions of me. I feel unsafe over her passive aggressive behavior. I've already contacted UPS Headquarters and will submit a detailed account of this incident along with my original reviews. I encourage those of you disgruntled with this UPS location to contact the headquarters at 858-455-8800. You will be put in touch with a customer service rep who processes complaints and assigns a field manager to investigate. Patty and Pete, judging by the mixed reviews you've received, you appear to have customers who are happy with you. However, the disparity between the 5 Star reviews and 1 Star reviews is striking. Evidently you have favorite customers whom you treat well and other customers whom you treat appallingly. It's rather telling how you respond very defensively to those negative reviews. What an insight into true character and perhaps an exposé of your unwillingness to accept constructive criticism, grow from it and apologize to people you've offended. read more

Every interaction I have had in this location has been negative. It is clear that the employees do not like being there and the reviews here indicate the customers don't either. Use the Postal Annex just down the street instead. They are always helpful and pleasant. Today I printed out a shipping label that directed me to put it in a UPS mailing pouch so I didn't affix the label with tape. I could have but was following the label directions. My box was taped up. When I took my package in for mailing, I was told I had to make a donation prior to them affixing the label. Shocked, I said "Excuse me?" and the nasty woman repeated the requirement that a donation be made. I took my package and left. The Postal Annex affixed the mailing pouch without any additional cost, requirement, or trouble. I am all for charitable giving and contribute literally tens of thousands of dollars to my community each year. I am not an advocate of forced giving as a precondition for a standard service. If you'd like people to donate to a charity you support, just ask--forced compliance in order to receive a pouch provided by every single other UPS store for free is an entirely different matter. I spoke to the owner of the store and learned that the nasty culture is indeed a top down phenomenon. First, she lied about the donation being a suggestion. It wasn't a mere suggestion. Then she said it was to defray the cost of expensive tape but I don't see how a payment to a third party defrays her tape costs. Then she went on the attack personally and asked me where I was from (family has been in Whitefish for 35 years, thanks) and suggested I didn't want to help homeless children (as the chair of the board of directors of a nonprofit with 18 homeless and affordable housing sites she couldn't have been more wrong). The employees at the store are so kind, and nice. I've actually never been in a UPS store where when you walk in they smile and greet you by your first name. We moved here three months ago. Prior to moving I set up a box here. I am used to UPS stores being cold, unfriendly, employees typically hating their jobs. Every interaction with the employees here have been so kind. Should I apologize for saying "Good Morning" or for interrupting your phone conversation & internet time as I walked in? For you to stand at the end of the counter with your scan gun out, in frustration...without a word? ...a simple "I can help you down here" or even 'point & grunt' perhaps something more on your level- If you are the owner...consider taking a class on proper greeting etiquette or just sell out. Whoever the "gentleman" (I use this term loosely) was that "helped" (also using this word loosely) me earlier today should probably look for work outside of customer service. He was cold, rude and belittling. I admit I did not properly package my boxes (this was my first time using UPS to make an Amazon return), but instead of recognizing an innocent mistake, I was ridiculed and made to feel a fool. I make a point to be very kind to those in customer service, having worked in that field myself in the past and knowing how difficult it can be, but there is no excuse for his crotchety behavior. I had my first grader with me and when we left he asked "why was that man so mean and angry?". I like using UPS but will not be returning to this location, even though I live mere minutes away. Shame. Update In response to the reply left by the owner: Thank you for your reply. I understand, however I would have much rather been told up front about the policy and donation. Like I mentioned, it was my first amazon return (my directions told me to bring my digital scan to the store, where the label would be printed out). Typically when I use UPS, I bring in my items and box in store- purchasing what I need as I go. After I was rudely asked to make a donation to the Sparrow's Nest Charity (which I applaud you for promoting in your store), I apologized for my lack of cash and offered to make a purchase of some sort, or use my debit to donate. He scoffed and said to his coworker "of course. No one has cash anymore". If this is a consistent issue then perhaps the system in which donations are made needs to be reevaluated. Or simply, the communication by the employees needs to change so the customer receives basic information. Also, I was the only one in the store at the time, so I would not have been inconvenienced by "getting out of line" or being asked to purchase tape. Why wait until my transaction was finished to tell me what was expected? That's totally backwards! The only communication I received was rude, and THAT is what I take issue with. Quick, easy and convenient. Faxes, normal and oversized architect copies, to all the fancy stuff an office or business might need in bulk. Shipping is self explanatory. Did you know Pete is a notary? Saves me more often than I would care from a longer drive and hassle. He always comes through. Even for the on-line trickier stuff. Staff is consistent usually preferring to keep quite while they work on completing the tasks you ask them of. I have not been let down yet. read more

If I could give this store a negative star, I would. They are now charging 2.00 to print one label (one sheet of paper). I thought the 2.00 charge to use the computer for printing labels was expensive and then I had to pay for each sheet of paper I printed (only 10 cents a copy - which is fine). I went in today and I was charged 6.00 to print 3 labels (3 sheets of paper). The owner was very rude and told me that "it was a service". I get it but charging people 2.00 to print a UPS label (sheet of paper) is highway robbery. Everyone should stop going to this store and use the one in Kalispell. They do not charge to print out labels. I have lived all across the USA and have never come across such an awful UPS store. read more

As a long time UPS customer, I can say this is one UPS location you can count on every time. I rely on this location to do everything from printing brochures to binding books, and each time Patty has had them done ahead of schedule and made the process simple and easy. WOW I live in WF and I am shocked at the behavior of the owner Patty and her employee, Jamie. I have been going there for years for shipping. This is the 2nd time I have been treated with such a horrific attitude when expressing my disappointment with a professional printing project. NO MORE. Their workmanship is spotty and shotty, to say the least. When I showed them, they nastily said.....GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. WE DON'T CARE, and tossed it back at me. This happened today. The owner was nasty, cold and disrespectfull. If work is poorly done and incorrect....PLEASE FIX IT!!!!!! NOW I KNOW I WILL NEVER GO BACK IN FOR ANY REASON. So my boss and and I took a bunch of stuff to ship with the Whitefish UPS drop next to Walgreens, today. We also went there to discuss their recent quote for us to ship a huge table to Texas. Their original quote was for $455 plus $140 for crating the item. They called back claiming they made a mistake on the original quote of $455 and it was actually $588. I said that was fine and I understand what happened. I called the customer about the change and she was reluctantly o.k. with the change. Cool. So the guy to crate it came to the store to assess the table and what it would cost. He called to tell me that it would not be $140 but $200! O.k. So I went to the UPS people to ask them to work with me on the second change to the fees and they told me "they will not honor the original quote"!. So I asked them to please work with me so that I didn't have to call the lady back and ask her for another $60. They told me "that's too bad, we will not work with you on it and you will have to live with it". My boss said, "o.k. that is fine, I will cover the extra myself since you clearly don't want to work this out". Then they had the gaul to yell "Come Back Here! Take your stuff and leave the store and never come back!" This actually happened in Whitefish after 6 years of shipping with them! I want to spread their shame and expose them as liars and cheats and bullies! Please share and DO NOT give them your business! They are despicable and untrustworthy and terrible examples for this city! read more
