The Usual Place is an excellent venue for live shows -- intimate setting, great acoustics, and very friendly staff. Sound quality was amazing from any area. Security and the team are genuinely hospitable and keep things running smoothly. My only critique is the bar service; when it's busy, the lines can get quite long. Otherwise, a fantastic experience and a must-visit for music lovers.

The Usual Place (Bar · Lounge · Music Venue) Hours * Open Tuesday through Saturday from around 7PM until late/night (closing time varies). Ambiance & Venue * Feels like your "neighborhood bar" with a trendy, boutique vibe and stylish décor. * Often hosts live music and events, with solid sound quality and a cozy layout. Highlights * Friendly, welcoming bartenders and attentive staff. * Great venue acoustics--easy to enjoy from anywhere inside. Critiques * Ventilation could be improved--smoking may drift indoors despite nonsmoking policy. Overall, The Usual Place is a laid‑back bar great place to go to in the evenings if you're out in downtown Vegas. The bartenders are super friendly, and the live music always sounds great--if your a local band this would be a great place to get some exposer. You do have to pay for parking, and there is no food inside the venue. So if you need a snack pack your purse or girls purse with a small bag of nuts or pretzels. If you're into a cool, local music bar with solid service and atmosphere, this is a great pick.

As for the venue, it sits next to PublicUS and offers good sound plus easy access but terrible ventilation. A non-smoking venue, ignored without consequence by many in attendance, leave it to a couple of assholes "moshing" to prove a nuisance. If security had any balls they'd have tossed 'em after one warning instead of four. That said, if you want smaller bands at smaller venues in this city you have to go out and support, and on 4/18/25 Sparta took the stage at The Usual Space for an exceptional set. While Sparta never achieved the commercial success of The Mars Volta Jim Ward's music has always seemed to carry forward At the Drive-In in its own way.

Worst gig ever , Do not even spend your money on getting tickets for this place, You get the ticket with days in advance, the show started at 8pm , We arrive at 10 , and they oversold the show and people like me and my friends that have tickets already , they scanned the ticket, stamped my hand and still won't let us in cause the place is full already, why do they over sell the place if they have a max capacity. There's no refund and won't let people in. Fuck this place and I'll make sure everyone in the line leaves a bad review

Came here to see a local band ( close to modern) and this place is just on the outskirts of Fremont street I recommend taking an Uber or cab there cause the streets around there are alittle dark, so the doorman was friendly went in and this place is super clean, decorated well, really nice bar with a vast selection of spirits with one of my favorite tequilas which is hard to find (forteleza) the bartender girl was super cool and made a good drink , plenty of seating and they have a taco truck parked right outside not sure if it's there all the time but it was there when we went l, they have a great sound system! Overall just a really cool bar that doesn't over charge you for a drink and they deejay after the band played was really good too like a dark wave deejay I will be back when I'm back in town if you get a chance check this place out !!!!!

Amazing venue! Clean - trendy - modern - spacious. Great bar with a variety of drinks, staffed by bartenders with great knowledge. The space can open up to a bigger venue that is suitable for a range of events. Live music. There's an ATM by the bathrooms. Bathrooms are very clean, modern and spacious. There's a parking lot attached on the side. Highly recommended.

    Main entrance on Maryland Parkway.

A Public Fit Theatre Company has done a major renovation of their theatre which they call The Usual Place. The entire interior has been redone and there is nom need now to know the way into the theatre from the back alley. Instead, the main entrance is on Maryland Parkway. After parking in the lot south of the building, simply walk to Maryland and the entrance is there quite near to the entrance to PublicUS. On entering, there's a ramp that goes slowly to a bit higher level. Check in here if the ticket person is not outside. In this area are the new restrooms which are simply amazing. It's like being in a restroom at the Bellagio. The interior was deliberately left open so a different number of seating options could be done by a director. What a remarkable change from my first production here when it had a lot of machine tool equipment. A Public Fit, thanks to you for the new house! It's superb!

Cute spot downtime. I came here for a burlesque show and it didn't disappoint. It's intimate with a bar and good prices. They sell snacks outside which isn't ideal but knowing upfront doesn't hurt when you can eat before or after. Show was great. Dancers, hosts, both great. The show says starts at 7 but that's when doors open. If you want to sit with friends, be sure to arrive at the same time or have one person buy all the tickets. Will be back. Nice fireplace on the patio for a smoke break.

I don't think I liked beer turns out IPA's are the exception!

We were seated at the bar and had a nice time interacting with the cocktail craftsman/man in charge, Davey. The menu is his creative brainchild and changes a few times a year, with the current one based on the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. There's a 90 minute limit and 2 drink minimum per guest. Because of the craft and attention to detail that goes into each cocktail, we finished our 2 drinks just about right at the 90 minute mark. I really enjoyed both of my cocktails but the one that stood out to me the most was Strange Medicine. It was reminiscent of a martini but with Brie-washed Old Bison vodka, Cocchi Americano, and herb oil. It was so good that I wasn't sure what drink to choose next, but Davey was helpful with a great recommendation for another cocktail served with a chunk of parmesan cheese on top. Keep in mind that you're paying for the experience and the level of craft. So with a 2 drink minimum it won't be a cheap experience but it's definitely something worth checking out for the unique, creative cocktails.

Pro: Fear and Loathing menu, updated furniture, yummy drinks…read more Con: Not the previous Laundry Room you remembered, glorified tourist trap, lack of atmosphere control. Slow drink service. The Laundry Room is dead, long live the Laundry Room. The remodel that took place during Jan to May 2026 saw a wide amount of change from Corner Management, the mother company of LR. They got rid of the absolute corner stone of the lead bartender, Anthony, and redecorated the place to look more like the sister bar, Doberman Drawing Room (5 Stars). The remodel was absolutely needed, as the regulars and Dean's List could point out, the place was kind of falling apart. From water warped bar top, uncomfortable chairs, and chipped paint/worned carpet, you would think this place WAS left over from the Prohibition era. What sets this establishment apart from any of the pretend speakeasy on the strip is the atmosphere. At any given time, you could cram 16 people there at a time, even with the reduced drinking time cut from 2 hours to 90 minutes, this place could only cycle thru 50 to 60 people from the reduced nightly opening of 4 hours from 6 hours previously. This make LR special, not some faux speakeasy in Cosmo or Resort World that could jam in 80 people per hour with room to spare. Gone is the rugged identity of the old laundry room for El Cortez, this is spiced up, every square inch of the wall is covered with some art piece, very much different from the Depression era decor. Some art selection are just straight up chaos from the management, the main cherub piece behind the bar is just insanity. The new master of house, Davey, showed skills with his new 14 drink menu, but fell short of what made LR great in the past 14 years. Now, the man had just two months to create his drink list and per himself, had to start from the scratch from when he took over.. So, with that said, let's focus on the drinks. Hemingway Dalguiri, Dust + Ether, and High Noon Static - all great in taste, presentation, and talent, abet we can see the hesitation when making his own drinks, thus slowing down service by quite a bit. My party saw him struggle making 6 drinks at once, 4 of them the same drinks. Recommendation from someone else, maybe record the drink making process and try to eliminate non productive habits and motions via video viewing. Since Davey is a visionary, looking in the past is a deal breaker for him. If you are trying to finish up a previous menu for the Dean's List, the joke is on you, that is a no. Where the hostess (the only person that survived the purge from the remodel) explained to him that exception needs to happen to keep the Dean's List going, the answer was a no since no one at management told him about this. When asked about what will the new requirements will be for the future, it's simple, finish the menu before it's replaced with no chance of catching up. Once a menu is done, it's done. I guess it's easier to keep the drinks under control with less ingrediencies needed behind the bar, but wait a minute... drink number 15, Research and Development, that should give Davey some leeway to non menu drinks right? Turns out, not so much. Sidecar- cognac, orange liqueur, lemon juice. Simple right? He leaves the room to get something from Commonwealth... didn't management installed a new fridge to hold the larger ice cubes, where previous bar keep have to venture out all the time? Turns out, there was no Cognac or any Brandy in the Laundry Room. I can see how things are shaped, strict bottle control is for the benefit of the bar, not for the customer. There is now Vodka, foam, and milk wash but lost Cognac or Brandy, but besides the freedom of choices were also compounded with complete lack of rules. For the last 14 years, the hostess and bar staff on rotation were friendly yet firm about house rules. First given upon entering the secret or window doors, then by the bartender after an aperitif is given (now eliminated). No photo, religion, politic, standing at the bar, name dropping, brawling, telephone calls, PDA, and smoking, plus don't be creepy, be patient, and know your limit. Most of these were not enforced the first 2 times my party of regulars have visited since the remodel. The cardinal sin of allowing one single 4 top to seat 2 people at a time is just wild. But hey, no rules are listed on the new simple menu and none giving at the door or at the seats. So what is this place now? 20 to 23 dollars for a drink plus more for popcorn. All for the experience of being in a noise warfare between Commonwealth and La Mona Rosa's speaker systems, with LR's own music turned up high, and the piano only used one night of the week. I would recommend Doberman Drawing Room as of now for better drinks options, less noise, and vibe. The new menu to replace Fear and Laundry will come out this Fall, will be bring some regulars with me to check on LR again and hopefully give more than 2 stars on the next review.

Pretty mystified how all the other guests could just hang out enjoying cocktails. We are no strangers to loud rock bands but this was just so unpleasant. Too bad.

I also loved that they had pictures that went with their drinks too. Seriously, lots of options! I also loved that they gave us a little card that had their most popular drinks based on taste. Our check came in a DVD plastic too, super nostalgic. I have not seen one of these in forever. Lol My friend and I ordered our first cocktail off this card and they were both incredible. I ordered the Crimes of Passion and she ordered the Dreamsicle. I like my cocktails sweet and these were both great. We ordered truffle fries off their small bites menu, which was enough to hold us over. For the second cocktail, my friend ordered the Nocturno Espresso. She liked it a lot, but it wasn't my preference since it was just a little bitter. I ordered what my bartender recommended me. I mentioned liking sweet drinks and he asked if I liked strawberries to which I replied "of course!" He made me a cocktail named the "Two Step" that I couldn't find on their menu but it was exactly the kind of drink I was looking for. We recommend making reservations. We tried to walk-in one night and they had a 30 minute wait, so we ended up booking a reservation on OpenTable for another day. However the night quickly turned sour when we tried to exit. We came in through the ally in the back because we purchased a special ticket for Juneteenth. We came in ordered a drink and then went upstairs. Music was great vibes great. I always wondered why my job was soooo big on a "notable farewell" and now I get it. We tried to exit the through the same area where we entered. It looked like an entrance only area so we saw an exit sign to the left of the bar in the back. We walked over but we saw it blocked off. We 100% WERE NOT going to try to get past the blockage however the Asian, woman, bartender in the back promptly approached us shaking her finger and rolling her neck telling us we could not exit there. Well to us that was very obvious. When we asked her where to exit she blatantly ignored us and started flashing her flashlight at the security. Never helped or guided us at all! I get it she might have been tired of telling people that they cannot exit there all night, however it was out first time trying to locate an exit and for her to flip out on us like that is unacceptable. We eventually made our way to a security guard who told us to exit in the front. AT NO POINT did ANYONE tell us "be sure to exit out the front". Maybe adding that line when entering through the back would be helpful. All in all I had a good night until the bartender in the back threw off the vibes of an otherwise successful Juneteenth.

Went on a Friday night around 11pm. It was mostly empty. Not sure if it was the weather (100+), the…read moreeconomy, or something else but that was surprising. Was that a red flag? Maybe, maybe not. In any case, I ordered the fish tacos and a couple of cocktails. First off the tacos were fine but they weren't what I was expecting. The slaw inside was really heavy and as such, the fish inside could have been more plentiful. It didn't match the amount of slaw that was stuffed in there. They were fine though, nothing bad just nothing great. Average. The drinks were average as well. I had a POG and a Lapu Lapu. They weren't bad but also weren't stellar. Just average. It was a drink. Service was also average. The girls didn't really seem happy to be there but also they weren't complaining or anything. They were just doing their jobs, not necessarily with a smile on their faces, just doing their jobs making drinks and serving food, nothing more. Atmosphere was average for a tiki bar. Nothing exciting, no special effects like you see in a lot of tiki bars these days. Just an average tropically decorated space. Considering the food, drinks, service and atmosphere were average, overall they get 3 stars. I can't say anything bad about the place but I can't say anything exciting about it either. The whole experience was simply average.

Wow this place BLEW US AWAY!!! We got in on Saturday night and walked into Bruno Mars performing!!…read more The vibe was so energetic and unique, I definitely think the no phone policy is what made it feel so special. We had so much fun we went back on Sunday night just expecting good energy and live music. We coincidentally made friends in line and the bouncer asked if we wanted a table that would allow us to cut to the front of the line. Minimum was $500 and there were 5 of us so we said yes. To our surprise Bruno came out again!!! No one ever knows when or if he will be there and we were lucky enough to see him 2 nights in a row, and made friends along the way. It was truly a magical experience, Bruno was the cherry on top but even without him making a suprise performance, Pinky Ring is still such a unique vibe I think everyone who visits Vegas should experience. I have no photos to post, just as intended :) The security was very strict about no photos. We were so impressed how well they caught every person, shining lasers at their camera and spotlighting them then escorting them out. Don't be that person, they will catch you and kick you out and make you delete any photos or videos (even from recently deleted, I asked). Just enjoy the experience with the people around you. No one else has to see photos to believe you, and even if they did they would not fully understand the vibe and experience because they weren't there. If you made it to the end of this review, I hope you make an effort to visit Pinky Ring, you might get lucky!!

Note that it is significantly less expensive to go on a Sunday or M-W than a Thurs/Fri/Sat would be... When I was there, they were very strict about their no photos policy. A few people in the club took their phones out on occasion, but it was nice to be mostly distraction free. The people I saw attempt to take photos were reminded of the policy and forced to delete the photos. I watched it happen twice... The security was locked in this night- Huge security staff and everyone could see them enforcing policies. The bottle service was great. Expensive, of course, but you know you're paying for that. Our server was so kind and accommodating. The busser was incredibly attentive. We got a bottle of rosé and a few cocktails. The cocktails were delicious and quite unique. Lon the Don was my favorite. The live music was incredible! A lot of talent and a wide variety of songs. The energy was electric. The DJ between live sets was great too, he really kept the hype going. This club is worth the hype and the splurge.
