Commonwealth and the hidden laundry room speakeasy bar behind
    Mehul M.

Loved this spot! A true speakeasy like bar with speakeasy bartenders and drinks. It's located in downtown on Fremont street inside the commonwealth and was easy to find. I ordered the southern slipper off the menu at first and the ordered something that I give the type of things I like my drink to taste like and had the bartender get creative. Both drinks were great. My wife had 2 mocktails and both were really good, especially the first one he created based off her flavor profile. Pianist playing inside and an ancient bathroom design. Can't take pictures inside but I got a picture of the bathroom. They require you to pay for the popcorn they give you ($6 per person) and a 2 drink minimum. You spend at least $60 per person for the 2 drinks and popcorn but I think it's worth it. They take their time to make the handcrafted drinks.

Had the most lovely experience at the laundry room! At first I wasn't super sure what to expect because the main bar entrance area doesn't look all that impressive; however, after entering the speakeasy in the back it was quite cute and my type of speakeasy vibes. We had several drinks here that were all crafted to perfection, we sat at the bar with the bar tender and watched him make all the cocktails, he even let us keep our menus which was a nice touch. The space only allows seating for a few people so reservations are required and then you have to show up for sure given the small number of people that can be accommodated. You're required to have 2 drinks each and order their popcorn, the only pick I have is that they charged us for popcorn but we never got any-- I did hear it was good though from the other patrons. Unique experience and worth trying if you're in Vegas and want something a bit more unique and low key/intimate but still nicely crafted cocktails.

Such a great speakeasy! From a fun little entrance inside Commonwealth which is a solid bar itself, The Laundry Room is a small, serene rectangular room insulated from the loud club bangers playing nonstop over the Commonwealth speakers. The service is attentive and personable, and this is a true "classic classy" speakeasy experience with sophisticated custom-made drinks tailored to any flavor profiles and tasting notes you might volunteer, surrounded by wonderfully slightly-over-the-top Prohibition-themed decór. This is the spot to take a friend or a date to show them you know what's poppin off-Strip away from the ordinary Vegas flashiness :)

The Laundry Room Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - The Laundry Room

I have a reservation for tonight. Are sneakers allowed? If not, I assume nice sandals are fine?

    Where is parking?

Park anywhere downtown on or near east Fremont. Parking is pay per hour.

Is there any entree that is gluten free here? Does this restaurant use a shared fryer for things like flour taquitos that would cross contaminate gluten free corn tortilla chips? I have Celiac disease and have to eat gluten free.

They only serve popcorn as a food here. It's a speakeasy for drinks. Not sure about the bar up front.

Will they make zero proof drinks for a non-drinker?

I emailed the company a similar question and received this response: "There are no issues with ordering non-alcoholic drinks. We do require a 2-drink minimum for all guests in the party, but that can be applied towards non-alcoholic drinks or passed…

    Is there happy hour?

    No there is not

Are there appetizers served or just drinks?

    It's just gourmet popcorn.

    Do you need a reservation?

Yes if you want to guarantee getting in. They have a waitlist on the odd chance there is availability same day.

How do they feel about dressy shorts in the summer, for men and women?

I asked (you have to text them) about a polo and nice khaki shorts back in January and they replied, "yes, that would be fine." Went a couple days later and had an amazing time. The Ballin With Lucy drink is awesome!!

How far ahead do the reservations open up?

2 weeks is what I have seen.

Recommend rooftop or main room for reservation?

There is no rooftop for Laundry Room, only the Commonwealth.

Does anyone know where they get their popcorn? Honestly it was probably as good as the drinks. 😅

    Popped https://g.co/kgs/QBcVnP

Are they open right now? Letting people inside? I want to visit

Yeah they're open- make sure you bring your mask

Is it true potential customers who traveled alone are not welcome?

    From my experience, yes.

How do we go about making an appointment?

You must text them politely, inquiring whether any "space" is available at a particular time. Here is their number: (702) 701-1466

    What time do they open?

    They open at 5pm now.

    Is there a cover?

No cover but currently two drink minimum, $6 per person unlimited popcorn, and auto-gratuity.

    Is there a dress code?

Yes, there is, it's business casual. There is also a theme to the speakeasy so technically you could dress up

Are there any snack/appetizer and how much does the drink cost?

They served popcorn when I went. I can't quite remember the drink costs, but I want to say about $10-15 each.

Can men wear jeans with a dress shirt?

Yes! You will fit in just fine. Great place

Is it ok for men to wear jeans?

    Jeans are acceptable for gentlemen.

We have both been to Las Vegas many times, and we hadn't ever visited the Mob Museum. So we decided to visit this time. We enjoyed the experience overall and would certainly recommend it to others. When we arrived, we paid for parking and went inside to pay for the Mob Museum experience. We started on the third floor reading all of the exhibits and worked our way down to the second and then first floor before finally making it to the basement. The basement is where The Underground is along with the Speakeasy and the Distillery. In fact, it is considered an immersive Prohibition history exhibit space featuring a distillery, speakeasy and private VIP room located in the basement of The Mob Museum. Surrounded by artifacts from the 1920s, you can experience Prohibition-era craft cocktails in their speakeasy and visit the on-site distillery for a taste of the past. Speakeasies operate in hidden places offering what has been considered to be forbidden spirits. The speakeasy in the Underground offers exhibits, videos, and artifacts that is built around a well-stocked bar with a hand-crafted cocktail menu. They also offer weekly live music and a lively environment. By going to the website (https://themobmuseum.org/underground), you can find the password for the speakeasy. This week, it is "Razzle Dazzle". The website (https://themobmuseum.org/exhibit/the-speakeasy) displays the menu, promotions, and live entertainment. There is also the Distillery. This exhibit tells the stories of bootleggers, rumrunners and the government agents who tried to take them down. The centerpiece is a working still producing moonshine so you, too, can have a taste of this formerly forbidden engine of American commerce. The general admission cost is to the Mob Museum is $34.95 per person to access exhibits without a discount. For an extra $15, you get access to exhibits and one interactive exhibit, which can include the Distillery moonshine tasting. For $5 more than that, you get access to exhibits and two interactive exhibits. There are discounts available to Nevada residents, students, law enforcement and military. You can also get tickets before 11 AM or after 5 PM to receive $7 off admission plus 20% off coupons on the internet. The Underground speakeasy and distillery is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 11 PM and Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to Midnight. Definitely check out the Mob Museum at some point while you're in Las Vegas! Worth a visit!

We went on a Friday so there was a DJ playing music (mostly remixes of late 2000s stuff like Chris Brown's "Yo") Pros: - REALLY cool ambiance inside, mostly dark, but really cool East Asian decor with lots of red - not crowded, it seems like they purposely regulate the capacity so it's not overrun with people and everyone can have a seat - The cocktails were really delicious!! - Definitely felt like a speakeasy, I was shocked that we couldn't hear the music from outside of the entrance - Very cool bookshelf entrance - Really beautiful presentation of the cocktails - Definitely probably the most unique and coolest speakeasy on the strip Cons: - The music was EXTRA loud - you could feel it physically pulsing when you sat on the couch - which I typically don't mind, but we really did have to shout at each other even though we were sitting right next to each other. However, my experience was not all that great. The best part about my experience was the Bartender Jason. He was a wine enthusiast just like me , so we talked a lot about different wines and different spirits, and overall he just had a very good attitude and personality. Unfortunately, I do not like the rules here. I feel like it's a lot of pressure when you get there and the hostess is a sweetheart, but she kept on coming up to me to ask me what I wanted and wanted to try, which was OK, but I also didn't like how she came back and said to remember that to keep voices low. The thing is, I understand the rules, but it is a lounge and they are playing music and most of the music is for our culture and they know how our culture if anything our voices are a little deeper and louder anyways. Anyways, that's besides the point, I was not even talking loud. The Bartender was just talking to me and we're going over what I didn't want on the menu so that kinda annoyed me a little bit and I didn't understand that, but I guess that's the rules and policies so I decided to ignore it. Also, the girl recommended that the dark chocolate were really good, but they were not good to me actually at all. I didn't even eat the chocolate because it was too hard. Furthermore, I don't like the rules that you need two drinks per minimum because some people just go for the ambience and a lot of people don't drink a lot like myself, so I decided to just order a French 75 and a mocktail. It's pretty small inside and it is hard to find, but it is right next to the Greek place if you're looking for it. They give you their password on their social media through Instagram daily so that's where you get the password from. I took an Uber here so I am not sure about the parking situation, but it is parking on the street and public parking where you can pay. I love supporting black owned businesses, but I was not a fan of here and I didn't like how the music did not have like a theme to it or they didn't play any 90s or R&B you can pick on your own. I feel like it would be cool if you could select what songs you would want to hear. I feel like the vibe is too Strict to even have fun if you did want to. I'll probably won't come back, but I am happy I did get to experience. -Dr. Dede
