Commonwealth and the hidden laundry room speakeasy bar behind
    Mehul M.

Loved this spot! A true speakeasy like bar with speakeasy bartenders and drinks. It's located in downtown on Fremont street inside the commonwealth and was easy to find. I ordered the southern slipper off the menu at first and the ordered something that I give the type of things I like my drink to taste like and had the bartender get creative. Both drinks were great. My wife had 2 mocktails and both were really good, especially the first one he created based off her flavor profile. Pianist playing inside and an ancient bathroom design. Can't take pictures inside but I got a picture of the bathroom. They require you to pay for the popcorn they give you ($6 per person) and a 2 drink minimum. You spend at least $60 per person for the 2 drinks and popcorn but I think it's worth it. They take their time to make the handcrafted drinks.

Had the most lovely experience at the laundry room! At first I wasn't super sure what to expect because the main bar entrance area doesn't look all that impressive; however, after entering the speakeasy in the back it was quite cute and my type of speakeasy vibes. We had several drinks here that were all crafted to perfection, we sat at the bar with the bar tender and watched him make all the cocktails, he even let us keep our menus which was a nice touch. The space only allows seating for a few people so reservations are required and then you have to show up for sure given the small number of people that can be accommodated. You're required to have 2 drinks each and order their popcorn, the only pick I have is that they charged us for popcorn but we never got any-- I did hear it was good though from the other patrons. Unique experience and worth trying if you're in Vegas and want something a bit more unique and low key/intimate but still nicely crafted cocktails.

Such a great speakeasy! From a fun little entrance inside Commonwealth which is a solid bar itself, The Laundry Room is a small, serene rectangular room insulated from the loud club bangers playing nonstop over the Commonwealth speakers. The service is attentive and personable, and this is a true "classic classy" speakeasy experience with sophisticated custom-made drinks tailored to any flavor profiles and tasting notes you might volunteer, surrounded by wonderfully slightly-over-the-top Prohibition-themed decór. This is the spot to take a friend or a date to show them you know what's poppin off-Strip away from the ordinary Vegas flashiness :)

Besides the mandatory $6/pp popcorn order and minimum 2 drink per person fee. ricky, the mixologist , made us amazing drinks. Keeping up with prohibition era drinks or you could ask for a customized drink based on a particular flavor. After 9pm the line at commonwealth is super loud though.

I was excited to try this place out - I had seen an Instagram reel about it (and the person must have been invited, because no photos are allowed, usually) and it looked awesome. Reservations open up two weeks in advance so I booked one for my boyfriend and I for yesterday at 815pm. The speakeasy is located inside Commonwealth. Athletic wear is not allowed, as other reviewers have mentioned, so I switched to sandals instead of my usual sneakers. Jeans, however, are allowed. Once you get inside Commonwealth, you wait for the host or hostess to come get you for Laundry Room, as the door is slightly hidden on one wall in Commonwealth. Before you get into the speakeasy, they tell you the rules: basically don't be loud, don't be on your phone, and behave like ladies and gentlemen. After that, you're led into the main Laundry Room, which is very small. When I made the reservation, it clearly stated that there is a two drink minimum per person, you must each purchase the gourmet popcorn at $6 a piece, and there is a 25% gratuity, which actually breaks down to 5% service fee and 20% gratuity. I had read that the popcorn was truffle popcorn so I was excited to try it but instead we had a mix of what I'm pretty sure was dill pickle popcorn and chocolate popcorn. Both were very good and you get unlimited refills. My first drink was the blackberry smash or something like it and it was good, it was sour and very fruity. My second drink was the Brandy Alexander which was fabulous, it was very creamy. You can also have the bartender make a custom drink based on a few flavors you like, which my boyfriend did, and his tasted like an old fashioned with a few other flavors thrown in. He thought it was very tasty but the bartender would not tell him the exact flavors in it, and joked "We don't serve 'alcohol' here." I did sneak some photos of the bathroom, which was pretty cool: It had old newspapers plastered all over the walls. Overall this place was pretty cool and it was nice and quiet, which was a nice respite from Vegas and Fremont especially. I would come back here for sure but just be aware that it's expensive: for two people, the minimum with the two drink policy plus the popcorn and tip would have been about 90 to $100 I believe. Our bill was about $136 for five drinks total.

That's all you get. No photos.

Ask the Community - The Laundry Room

I have a reservation for tonight. Are sneakers allowed? If not, I assume nice sandals are fine?

    Where is parking?

Park anywhere downtown on or near east Fremont. Parking is pay per hour.

Is there any entree that is gluten free here? Does this restaurant use a shared fryer for things like flour taquitos that would cross contaminate gluten free corn tortilla chips? I have Celiac disease and have to eat gluten free.

They only serve popcorn as a food here. It's a speakeasy for drinks. Not sure about the bar up front.

Will they make zero proof drinks for a non-drinker?

I emailed the company a similar question and received this response: "There are no issues with ordering non-alcoholic drinks. We do require a 2-drink minimum for all guests in the party, but that can be applied towards non-alcoholic drinks or passed… Read more

    Is there happy hour?

    No there is not

Are there appetizers served or just drinks?

    It's just gourmet popcorn.

    Do you need a reservation?

Yes if you want to guarantee getting in. They have a waitlist on the odd chance there is availability same day.

How do they feel about dressy shorts in the summer, for men and women?

I asked (you have to text them) about a polo and nice khaki shorts back in January and they replied, "yes, that would be fine." Went a couple days later and had an amazing time. The Ballin With Lucy drink is awesome!!

How far ahead do the reservations open up?

2 weeks is what I have seen.

Recommend rooftop or main room for reservation?

There is no rooftop for Laundry Room, only the Commonwealth.

Does anyone know where they get their popcorn? Honestly it was probably as good as the drinks. 😅

    Popped https://g.co/kgs/QBcVnP

Are they open right now? Letting people inside? I want to visit

Yeah they're open- make sure you bring your mask

Is it true potential customers who traveled alone are not welcome?

    From my experience, yes.

How do we go about making an appointment?

You must text them politely, inquiring whether any "space" is available at a particular time. Here is their number: (702) 701-1466

    What time do they open?

    They open at 5pm now.

    Is there a cover?

No cover but currently two drink minimum, $6 per person unlimited popcorn, and auto-gratuity.

    Is there a dress code?

Yes, there is, it's business casual. There is also a theme to the speakeasy so technically you could dress up

Are there any snack/appetizer and how much does the drink cost?

They served popcorn when I went. I can't quite remember the drink costs, but I want to say about $10-15 each.

Can men wear jeans with a dress shirt?

Yes! You will fit in just fine. Great place

Is it ok for men to wear jeans?

    Jeans are acceptable for gentlemen.

The only hint I'll give is that it's located on the casino floor. When we walked in, we were greeted by the hostess. She asked us if we had reservations or were walking in. I really appreciated this because the way she phrased her question told me they had availability and we would be granted entry. The bar is very small and seats about 30. Reservations are strongly encouraged, however we went on a Monday in February. If you're going on a weeknight during off peak season, you should be okay without a reservation. The hostess gave us the option of sitting at the bar or at a table. We asked her for her rec and she said the bar so that's what we chose. The decor is beautiful. The ambiance is dark and moody. It's perfect for a date night. We were greeted by both bartenders. I believe the bartender that made our drinks was Rory. He was very nice and knowledgeable about cocktails. He was able to answer our questions and make suggestions based on our preferences. As we browsed the menu, we were presented with welcome drinks in a fancy smoky container. I don't recall the name of the drink, but it had a lychee flavor with a sugar rim and it was good! Drinks are extremely pricey which is to be expected in Vegas. It's also on par based on where the speakeasy is located (hint hint). The cheapest cocktail was $30 so prepare yourself for the sticker shock. Some drinks were $80-$100! Sometimes you just have to treat yourself. I went with the Velvet Moon which was an interesting cocktail consisting of both gin and mezcal. It had flavors of hibiscus and it also had egg white which I absolutely love! The presentation was beautiful and I really enjoyed it! My friend went with the Basilico Bliss which he enjoyed. I didn't try any, but it looked really good. As we were enjoying our drinks, the staff presented us with savory bar snacks. They were tasty and were a perfect compliment to our cocktails. They do have food on the menu, but we had already eaten so we stuck with our complimentary snacks. As we were closing out, the staff presented us with a complimentary mini dessert. Rory described it as a Carajillo Jello shot. I don't like jello (I hate the texture), but I do love Carajillos. My friend does not drink coffee and does not like coffee flavor, so I ate both of them. They were so delicious (but the texture was off putting lol). I typically don't mention the restrooms in my reviews, but this one is worth mentioning. All I have to say is heated seats with a bidet! We really enjoyed our visit. Had the drinks not been so pricey, we probably would have stayed longer. If you enjoy speakeasies and/or craft cocktails, go have a drink at The Vault! The experience alone is worth it!

We literally only received enough for one tiny s'more each. This thing was $32 bucks. Definitely not worth it. Aside from that, I would absolutely recommend a visit here. Finding it is pretty easy. Just look through TikTok or Google for directions. They're easy to come by.

It looked like a closet door -- no kidding. The only reason I looked again was because someone wearing a jacket was standing by this alleged closet door, which seemed oddly suspicious! (I know, I should be a detective! Haha) The cocktail menu was inventive. I also appreciated their commitment to the themed decor, like the snow behind the bar. If we had more people, I would have wanted to do a group ski shot (literally shot glasses sitting on a ski, and you tip the ski so everyone drinks at the same time). It was so unique, like where else are you going to do that?!! We only stayed for one quick drink here because it was fairly tame and quiet. It was a small venue. And it didn't have good service, or at least an inviting and warm one, which was unfortunate and surprising. For a small place that wasn't busy, we could never find someone to help us. It took a long time to order, a long time to get our drink, and a long time to get our tab. I think Ski Lodge has a lot of potential. The theme is fabulous and the venue rocks. The service is important, and there is so much competition in Vegas that service is more than just serving drinks. People come to Speakeasies for an experience, or in the least, to feel welcomed.
