The Ux is one of the few places I would even consider a 30 minute drive from Worcester, but the food is amazing, the beer selection is great and the service is always on point. Meena was our waitress last night and her bubbly personality was an absolute pleasure. The vodka sauce is always to die for but everything of Elaine's that I've tried is delicious! We even made room for cheesecake with strawberries locally sourced from a farm in Northbridge which I thought was a really nice touch. I love the atmosphere of this place. 1st time here, been wanting to come for a while. We sat at the bar 1st, they have a good selection of craft & IPA beers and a decent wine list.... no vodka alas. We sat down, had a couple bottles of wine, and pizza. All I can say is OUTSTANDING!!! Everything is fresh, made to order and flat out delicious!! Open atmosphere, and the service was amazing. Andrea in particular was just delightful , friendly and just what the doctor ordered. Id suggest ordering pizza well done, but aside from that the white pizza with caramelized onions, prosciutto& spinach was amazing! Overall 5stars easily, and Andrea adds the 6th star! Myself and two friends went here tonight for dinner. The reviews have been so great we wanted to try it. The decor is so nice! I loved the glass tables with wood underneath. Also the service was fantastic, our waitress was so friendly! We wanted so badly to like the food. I'd been so excited to try this place. We were hopeful as each dish came out. We had the meatball appetizer but the meatballs were dry and overcooked. Drenched in sauce they weren't so bad. The beet salad with goat cheese was terrible. All three of us tried it and guzzled our drinks trying to get the taste to go away. Granted, it does take a certain palate to like goat cheese. The salsa fresca was ok but a suggestion is to have cheese at the tables? It was very bland. My companions had sausage in their pasta that was overcooked and dry like the meatballs. Maybe it was just an off night? I really want to like this place. It's local! I do regret not trying the pizza. Just about every table had it and it looked good! So I will probably go back and give that a shot. read more

My wife and I had dinner here last night at around 6pm. There were only a few other people dining when we arrived but the bar was full this was our 3rd time here and each time we have come we noticed the dining area was different. Compared to our last visit, they had changed up the table sizes and types and added a wall to block off yet still access the bathrooms. I still don't think they have the table seating right yet. The metal chairs would work well for the patio area but not inside. The backs of the chairs were too low and couldn't accommodate holding a coat. Also some tables had a combination of white linen table cloth AND white paper, while other tables were bare. The woman at the register when we entered was not pleasant, but not rude either. More distant and uninterested. When we walked in she was doing some other tasks involving the table top paper and although she saw us enter never acknowledged us for at least 5 minutes as we stood there awkwardly. Finally she said hello and sat us at a 2 person table. She put the menus on the table and walked away. No "enjoy your dinner" or "your server will be with you soon". Again just very cold and distant. The waiter came within a few minutes and took our drink orders. He seemed new and unsure of himself. He also asked if we had any questions about the specials. We didn't know what they were so asked him to tell us. He noticed we were not given a specials menu and went and got one. While we were reading the menu we couldn't help but notice the mismanagement of the dining room. Next to us was a table with dishes from a couple that had just left. Those dishes stayed there for our entire meal - about 45 minutes all the while a huge crowd was waiting in the lobby area, which is not much of a lobby area. It all kind of blends into the bar and dining room areas. We also noticed about 5 tables ready for customers, 2 of which had reserved signs on them but nobody seated. Some of them were vacant for 20 plus minutes. We also noticed tables that seat 8 had 2 people sitting at them. Again, large crowd was gathering eager to be seated. I don't own a restaurant and don't know much about the restaurant business but I do know that quick customer turnaround is key. Having open seats for long periods of time prevents revenue. We order the special eggplant appetizer which was very good but small in size and the ratio was tomTo sauce to cheese to eggplant was way off. 2 small slices of fried eggplant sitting in a pool of tomato sauce. The sauce was very good and would have loved more bread to eat the sauce with but our waiter was not around and there only seemed to be one waiter working. My wife ordered the special mussels and pasta dish and I ordered the pasta puttenesca. Again, the food was very tasty but small in portion and it would have been nice to be served additional bread. We opted to have dessert and got the double chocolate cake which we shared and ordered 2 decaf coffees. This is where the whole experience really went south for me. The coffee came and it was cold and stale. It definitely was not freshly brewed. When we finally got a hold of our waiter and told him he seemed confused as to what to do. We suggested he brew a new pot which he did. The next round of coffee we got was fresh and hot. The dessert came about 10 minutes after the first round of coffees. I would prefer that the coffee and dessert come together. The dessert was delicious, but keeping with the theme here, small. Not big enough to share. The waiter apologized for the coffee and wished us a good night and gave us the bill. I was expecting not to be charged for the coffee but was. I feel for something that has such a low cost compared to the sell price to make things right with the customer you comp them the coffee. I think the waiter was just too new and I don't think there was any available management to ask. When we left we passed the woman at the reception area. There were at least 20 people in the lobby area now waiting for seats but she did not seem affected at all. No sense of urgency nor a "have a good night". I really want to like this place. I think they got it right with the approach towards the menu and quality of food although I'd like to see more on my plate for the price. They really need to get a consultant or someone experienced in restaurant management to come in and overhaul the dining experience. It's what I feel ultimately will be the demise of this restaurant and I would hate to see it go. It's good for this community. It was nice seeing locals gather at the bar for a drink, having a pizza (we've had the pizza by the way and they are EXCELLENT!!). This place needs to stay but the owners here need to put much more attention to patron seating turnover and friendly service. We will most likely go back again, but we will go early to avoid the crowds. read more

I've been here a half dozen times and I'm still going through the pizza's! I'm looking forward to getting to some of the other entrees but honestly the pizza is so good it's very hard to pass it up. I have tried several appetizers including; The Warm Beet Salad-- I hate beets, I know they are amazing for you-- they have to be because the worse something tastes the healthier it is, well Beets must be close to a superfood because they are horrible. Not here though, I could not believe I was taking seconds of this after my wife ordered it. Perfect seasoning and the warm beets are SOOO much better than cold straight from the ground beets. The Crater Taters - I can't say enough about these-- absolutely incredible. My only complaint is that they are so filling I often can't eat the whole pizza when it comes. Steamed Mussels in Garlic Sauce-- out of this world. The quality and craftsmanship is the thing here, these are people who care about food and your dining experience and offer a warm and inviting atmosphere in the middle of nowhere. I've eaten at restaurants all over the world and this is easily one of my favorites. Ten stars, never mind five! read more

I had a great meal here! The service was fantastic, loved the wine selection and the food was delicious. We started with an antipasto salad, which was big enough to share. It was fresh, had a lot of meat and a yummy dressing. We both really enjoyed it. My date had a seafood dinner which he loved and I had the special pizza of the day, yum! Will go back. read more

Not a great experience... My friend arrived first and sat herself right as they opened. I don't blame her because the patio area does not have a host stand. The host came up to us once I arrived and promptly told us this table is reserved for 2 hours from now. Okay... Not my problem... I doubt they reserved this exact table and most times I go to a restaurant I don't spend more than an hour or two there. So we ordered beer and food. The pizza was not great and had a hair on it, but everything on the menu is about $20. Definitely not worth the $$, my friend didn't even want her doggie bag. We felt rushed the whole time. Which stopped us from ordering more beer and dessert, thus they lost out on more $$ from us and future business. Not the service I expect from a place charging $20 for a pasta dish. read more

Great place as there is not much in the area. I was curious to go inside the restaurant, liking it's farm-like surroundings. First thing I noticed was the deafening echo of a poorly soundproofed building. It was so loud, it was impossible to hold a conversation. The singer added to the ambience, but it contributed to this auditory distraction. The metal chair had a very narrow seat bed to comfortably accommodate an average size person. The woman's derriere behind us was spilling over her seat. She looked uncomfortable. I wore my jacket the whole time as it was cold there. We were served bread, even though we were saving our carb consumption for only the pizza. Then came the most awaited pizza (we were starving) with hardly anything on it, with a crust that could have been cooked longer by what appeared to be a very young man (aprentice?). Nothing compared to D'Acosta's and Wonder Bar in Worcester, Ziti in Westboro or Pizzeria Regina in Boston with their seasoned cooks knowing how to work the oven. I did love the bathrooms signs and the hanging light fixtures so common now on country- chic decor. read more

I was so excited to try this place and really wanted to like it, but won't go back. We had the cauliflower appetizer that had no taste, it was literally a slice of cauliflower grilled. Then ordered the cheese pizza and pasta with sauce, basic dishes. There were 2 couples near us that came in after us and were done and getting their check before we even got our food? They had also ordered an appetizer. Then they bring us the pizza and said they had to remake my pasta because they had put cheese on it by mistake. The pizza was burnt on top and not cooked inside, which is something we have never experienced before. Waitress was nice but never saw her. She never even came to ask how things were. Restaurant wasn't busy so not sure where she was? Not the best experience. read more

Good little spot in Uxbridge. The front desk/hostess crew has a tendency to make you feel like the wait will be unbearable. It never is. I've been three times and each time they warn it will be over an hour. It's never been more than 20-25. The foods really good, the atmosphere is cute, the menu is a little limited. It's in a barn-like structure on a hill that's decorated with the works of local artists which they feature. When the patio is open they sometimes have live music as well. Took Mom and Dad for dinner. Waitress was very courteous. Meals arrived in a timely manner, BUT Mom found a hair in her rissotto, and her shrimp were overcooked. Dad was very happy with his Ribeye. My Carbonara "Nocci" pasta was very dry, and had very little bacon and pancetta. I sent it back to have some moistness added to it, and it came back "swimming" in heavy cream. A bit TOO much. Might as well have been Mac and Cheese at that point. Overall, our experience was enjoyable. The live music was an added bonus, and the waitress was nice enough to take a few dollars off for the kitchen's mistakes. Would definitely return for the pizza and beer !! read more

Meals consisted of pasta with sausage and chicken bacon pizza. My boyfriend really enjoyed the pasta but very small portion. The pizza on it's own was awesome. The way the chicken was cooked and seasoned didn't pair well with the pizza. Something wasn't quite right. Desserts included chocolate cake ala mode and a hot fudge sundae. You simply cannot go wrong with icecream from Icecream Machine, yum! A few things I didn't like but I would go back to try other things. read more

Went there on a Saturday night, was told there was a 45 minute wait time. Saw at least 3 three tables sitting empty in the out door seating area. These tables sat empty for at least 20 minutes while we waited. Had to STAND in the parking lot of the restaurant to wait as there were basically only a few tables in the waiting area which were all full. Waitress was nowhere to be found, was not offered a beverage of any type during our wait. Finally was seated, very limited non-alcoholic drink availability basically lemonade and Coke. We had a young child with us so he ended up getting water. Was at first seated in the outdoor dining area, the live music was so loud we could not even hear each other speaking. Moved to the inside dining area. Food was o.k. Would think twice about going here again. read more

First visit and they absolutely crushed it! Loved the vibe, the food, and the outdoor seating to boot! Everything looked delicious...as I basically stared down all the food leaving the kitchen! I'm super picky about my pizza and sauces, and you knocked it out of the park! The brick oven pizza was light and crispy, all fresh ingredients, and served hot! Food was not a good value for the price. Vodka sausage was mediocre at best. Veggie balls were barely edible. No kids menu, so when we split a meal between our two kids, we were charge with a split plate fee-so the kids meal was more expensive then the adult entrees. Have given this place a few shots.
