We all had separate treatments, everything from facials to massages. They had us fill out forms in advance to get our information and massage preferences. It was really thorough - everything from what scented lotion we wanted to what type of music plays in the room. Allyson was my masseuse and she was wonderful. So friendly, I really enjoyed chatting with her throughout, and her hands worked magic. I felt so relaxed afterward. There was a moment during the massage where my back felt a little funny in one area, I told her, and she immediately helped target that area and was appreciative that I let her know. The lovely lady behind the desk gave up her chair for my mom to complete her digital forms. These are the types of things that make it difficult for elderly people to enjoy places like this. There was a bench but it was much too low for her. After forms completion we were escorts to a changing area with lockers to leave our things. This was a clean area with plenty of lock boxes and even a shower. At this point we were ushered to our treatment rooms and the pampering began. After an hour of facial potions, steam, hand, neck, arm and shoulder rubs, a deep treatment on your hands including wrap and a warm glove to help the oil/lotion penetrate...it was over. I was pretty much a puddle, was hard to focus and my face felt like a new born baby. I was also surprised they didn't try to "sell" me anything. It was a pleasant surprise honestly. Temperature control checks need to be done here more often! I will just go to Lake Steam next time... at least they regulate the temperature appropriately. You aren't suffocating yourself within 2 seconds. I had to cool pool plunge a COUPLE of times, just to be able to keep... myself from overheating. Literally, I think the temps were approaching 130-135F -- it was almost too hot to sit on the wood in the sauna, and the steam room was so bad... it wasn't even 1 minute and I was out of there. Stayed maybe 1 hour total. I felt... for the money paid, that isn't worth it.
