It seems odd to have to give a poor rating to a business whose services I've never received, but that's actually WHY I'm giving the Vanity Chest a single star. I wish I could give it zero stars. I called Felisa to schedule a little waxing. Nose and ears needed tending before a business trip and sales meeting. I called her at noon to see if she was available the same afternoon. She said she could fit me in at 3:30. I drove 30 minutes and arrived 5 minutes early. The door to Felisa's room was locked, so I waited a couple of minutes. 3:00 o'clock rolled around and the door was still locked. I sent another text to Felisa to let her know I was there waiting. She opened her door and asked "Are you here for waxing?" I said yes and she said "I'm Felisa." And then she closed her door again. I presumed she might be finishing with a previous client. She left me sitting in the hallway for 20 minutes, not once telling me I would be taken care of soon or apologizing for the delay. I sent Felisa a final text at 3:50 letting her know I was leaving and got no response. Basically, I wasted and hour of my time driving to and from Felisa's studio to be ignored. I consider her behavior unprofessional and inconsiderate, especially considering she had sent me a message telling me if I was more than 15 minutes late, I'd have to reschedule. read more

Getting your brows microbladed here is life changing. No, seriously. I initially got my brows microbladed here two years ago because I got a groupon and all my coworkers had theirs done here so I caved and did it. I had to wait like two weeks for a weekend appointment but Felisa made me feel comfortable and took awesome care of me, especially because who isn't scared of microblades so close to their eyeballs? She did such a great job I didn't even have to go for the touch up! Then because they had faded a teeeeeensy bit, I came back last week to have them re-done. She booked me right away and even though she was in the middle of moving locations, made me feel like a priority. It took half the time and they're flawlessly shaped and colored! 5/20/17 update: just spoke with them. Awkward conversation, I was told, "this may not be the place for you..." for a variety of reasons. After that conversation, I would agree...not for the excuses given but after what was said to me, I wouldn't be comfortable with that same someone PERMANENTLY TATTOOING my face. My husband is 100% disabled military. We do ok but things like this are usually not in the budget. This was a gift from him because I am his caregiver and he wanted to do something special for me. How do I tell him he just basically threw that money out the window? I am in tears right now. Not for me, for him. He is such a wonderful man. I got there 5 minutes prior and knocked on Felisa's door to let her know I was there. She was very nice and acknowledged me. Filled out a few forms and discussed my eyebrows. She went into full detail and got to work. Was there about 1 1/2 hours. Not that much pain thanks to the numbing cream, but be prepared, it's not 100%. I was able to get an appointment in right away to get my brows microbladed for the first time. Felisa made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process & has a really good eye at how eyebrows should look based on the frame of your face. For my 2nd session touch up, she filled in the gaps where the scab flaked off & perfected it all. You can definitely trust in her work. Felisa was very nice, but when she finished Microblading I noticed that my eyebrows didn't look even. I went home and studied Microblading more. I don't believe my eyebrows were measured properly. Extremely painful experience. I got my eyebrows microbladed here probably 2-3 years ago. It hurt so bad!! I recently got them redone by someone with a five star rating and there was a ton of scarring on my eyebrows. The new experience was relatively painless, which was so different from what I experienced at The Vanity Chest. I was naive going into the experience but now I now what it should have been like. Buyer beware! As pretty as the photos on this site are, not everyone has these results. In fact, some of us have no results at all! After enduring about an hour of having hundreds of hair-shaped cuts made on my eyebrow areas, bleeding profusely and having my under brow area seriously bruised by Felissa controlling the bleeding, and following the written instructions to the letter, all of the affected skin flaked off, taking the pigments with it. Ten days and $200 after the procedure there was no evidence that anything had been done. When I attempted to get my money refunded, this was the response: "Any Permanent/ Semi-permanent make up is a form of cosmetic tattooing where pigment is placed in the dermal/epidermal layer of the tissue. Retention of the pigment is out of our control, as it is determined by the patient's skin type, how well they follow after-care procedures, as well as their immune system, therefore no specific result can be 100% guaranteed. If you skin does not hold pigment with just one session a touch is is suggested 6-8 weeks after your 1st session , But everyone skin is different and may require multiple sessions to lock in pigment. No refunds or exchange of services." ​ I am not writing this review to criticize Felissa or her professionalism or quality of her work, but to warn people to have this procedure done at their own risk. May be fine for someone who doesn't work 9am-5pm M-F, but it's unacceptable to not have appointments for months. My Groupon will expire before any times are available. She Didn't know what to do with bleeding!! Went to another place which informed me I had tons of scaring left from my previous microblading experience.. she was the only previous person I've had . She also went over the hair strokes to many times which made them appear super thick ( not like hair strokes and made the pigment look grey and blur ) super disappointing read more

I am so pleased with the way my brows turned out, I had to write a review. It's been exactly one week since I had my brows microbladed. The scabs have peeled away and my brows look wonderful. I know there will be a few more transitional stages, as carefully explained to me by Felisa, before the final result is evident, but I LOVE them. I will also be going in for a touch up in a few weeks as recommended. I have to say, I was a challenging client as I was a "bleeder". Felisha was so patient and professional. She explained that because I was bleeding, the blood was pushing out the pigment. She was honest and said she wasn't quite sure how this would affect the end result. Well, I think we're both lucky because they look great! She put in a lot of work and I survived the discomfort, but oh so worth it! read more

I bought a Groupon for a Brazilian wax and scheduled an appointment for 12pm the following Tuesday. I went to my appointment and arrived 10 minutes early and sat on the small waiting bench outside of this woman's salon booth. The clock hits 12 and she is clearly still with her previous client (you can see through the window shades into the booth...kind of a red flag for someone getting a Brazilian wax). I waited and 5 minutes pass...someone stopped by to drop off Starbucks to her. She even popped her head out and made eye contact with me...but never said "I will be right with you." She KNEW I was her next client- I am sitting in her waiting area! Another 5 minutes, and another. Another "visitor" stopped by...waltzed right into her room while she's working on her client. What if something was exposed!? Anyways it has been 15 minutes so as her second visitor walked out the door I got up to see what the deal was. I said "hi I had the appointment at 12...?" She immediately says "you never checked in!" Side note- there is NO sign that advises clients to "check in." Maybe do a better job managing your books and time??? I said "well you are with a client..."for confidentiality and privacy I wasn't going to let myself in. I said again, umm I had an appointment at noon..." just beside myself because I was being blamed for HER being late, and completely rude and unprofessional. I said "it's okay I will come back another time" and she walks back into her little booth. No sorry, no would you like to reschedule...Doesn't even say anything else!! I was very disappointed in how this woman spoke to me and represented herself. As a first time customer, she should have treated me first with an apology for being late and secondly with respect. First rule of being a business owner- the customer is always right (especially when they truly are). Even when you've messed up, take ownership and be kind- it would have made the world of difference than immediately making me, the customer feel they did something wrong. I've received waxes for YEARS and was looking for someone closer to home. Save your money and find someone who is kind and professional. I'm assuming this is a new business and this was not the appropriate way to build a clientele. It's unfortunate I have to leave this review but I hope this woman learns a lesson. I really hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. I've contacted groupon for a full refund. read more

I bought a groupon. The person is very unresponsive. It took two months to book an appt. I am in the area every two weeks at a dialysis clinic and wanted to book it for the same day that I would be there. I could not get her to communicate her availability. I finally called and just booked an appt. She texted me the night before to confirm. I didn't see the text until 2 hours prior to the appt and confirmed that I would be there. She did not show up. When I called her to tell her I was waiting, she told me that since I did not confirm we would have to reschedule. She was not apologetic and acted like my keeping my appointment was inconsiderate to her. I told her I wanted a refund. She continued to argue with me. We had a very congenial text back and forth, but she continued until I gave her the last word. After I thought the texting was over. I was on the phone with someone else and she called me 3 times during that conversation. She left one final text and told me I was very mean. A total waste of time, gas and money. read more

I am posting this review to make others aware. I purchased a Groupon for microblading and made an appt almost a month in advance. When I arrived at my appointment on time there where 3 people waiting for their services as well and a microblading session in progress. I became concerned because this is not a prodcidure to be rushed. I asked others what time their appts are and what hey are having done. There was a lady there filling out paperwork for a 1030 appt. I did not get a good feeling. When her door opened I began asking her questions and how this is going to work. She said I needed to fill out paperwork when the other lady is finished. She said she would work with both of us. She finally gave me paperwork to fill out and her current micro blading person came out with plastic on her brows and she took her next clinet in for a wax. I began to fill out my paperwork and waited. I waited till 1045 and she was still in with her waxing client with myself, another person with a micro blading appt and her current micro blading client in the hallway waiting. I was not comfortable with the situation and did not have a good feeling and did not want to be rushed for a micro blading procedure. At 1045 I left and immediately contacted Groupon and demanded a refund. I would not recommend her or her establishment. She has oviously over booked herself with the groupons. If you are looking for someone to take their time and make your comfortable this is not the place for you. If you want to be worked on like an assembly line then go ahead and book her. I will take my refund and go elsewhere and pay double to make sure it is done right and professionally.! read more

I bought a groupon in MARCH, was finally able to get an appointment for June, showed up and she was not there, re-booked for July for 4pm with a confirmation. She clearly did not have my appointment again- despite her text confirmation, I waited for 30 minutes another customer came in for a 4:30pm. She did tell me I could wait...no, thank you. I already waited and could not wait longer. She sent a text later that evening thanking me for my visit and providing instructions for care, I reminded her she did not see me. She did apologize and I let her know it was not a huge deal things happen and when could I re-book? She sent a text stating she had no appointments at 4pm until late October so this wont work out for me. Ridiculous. I have seen similar reviews to my experience. Her eyebrow work does look great but customer service is not on point and I feel like it is a scam since she got her money and does not provide services. Proceed with caution. I understand making mistakes in booking but how you handle those that is most important. read more
