Cute place, and her cheese is really legit. I would have liked some music playing inside, but overall I was very happy.

This is long -but it is that special. Please help me spread the word…read more This place is so understated and deceiving -in a good way! It looks like a meat packing house from the out-side. But when you step in, it's a homage to the art of meat preparation. The owner Steve is a gem. You can tell this is not only a quality business but also a passion project that he has continued from his father. My daughter is a recent Purdue graduate from '25 class. We are not local, but from NJ. She found this place as part of a local walk and stopped by to pick up a gift certificate to give as a thank you gift.. She noticed they do catering- and thank goodness!. We rented an Airbnb for her graduation so family can stay with us and had planned to have a caterer. But the caterer I booked 4 months prior to graduation cancelled on me one week prior to the event! I was left high and dry. My daughter remembered that Beutlers caters! Steve literally saved us when all others could not or would not. He was not only empathetic to our situation, but he made sure we had an amazing feast and thought of everything to ensure we had the celebration we envisioned. The food was so incredibly good. My family was raving about it all weekend long. Truly THE best pulled Pork and Beef brisket we've ever had. And for a family that doesn't even like beans, they couldn't stop eating it! So good, it should be illegal. We had leftovers for days. Best of all, Steve told me he prepped all the food himself. His TLC was evident. He made sure we had everything needed, even lovely serving baskets and lighters for sternos! My only regret is that my daughter graduated, and I have no known future opportunities to call on Steve again to work his magic. I hope this review gains traction. I'm on a mission to ensure that word gets out about this rare gem of a place and the incredible owner behind it all, Steve Beutler. Heartfelt thank you Steve.

I love the protein salad, it is a combination of soy beans, wheat, cheese, and vegetables. The soups are tasty and many of them are vegetarian (no chicken stock). They have a great tomato-mozzarella panini, and a very good veggie burger. I think the name "gourmet deli" is very appropriate.

I nearly always order a sandwich platter or some variation of that. Today, my husband and I shared an egg salad sandwich along with a side of the vegetarian potato salad and a fruit garnish. It was a healthy amount of food! It was all somewhat light fare, however, so it didn't leave you feeling weighed down after the meal. Vegetarian options abound at this restaurant. They offer egg salad, artichoke, and hummus options for their sandwich platter, but they also have paninis, a veggie burger, salads, etc. And their desserts always look magnificent! Sadly, we did not order one today, but that is not an easy decision. They have a spacious dining area. The front area can seem a little busy, but we always make our way back to the second dining room. Our order was taken promptly, and our food arrived in hardly any time at all. Wonderful service, wonderful food - again, the only thing I could complain about is their limited hours.

I have been a customer for years in Indianapolis, but alas there are no more Dream Dinners in…read moreIndianapolis. Is this worth the drive up to Lafayette? In my mind yes. Being on the southwest side of Indy, it takes me about the same amount of time to go to Lafayette instead of the pick up point for deliveries in Indy. AND added bonus I get to assemble my meals myself. You may wonder why I would want to put in the work instead of having someone else assemble and deliver for me. Well, two reasons. It's fun to put it all together and you can modify a little bit if there are ingredients you don't like or just want a little bit off. I hate celery and I am allergic to blue cheese, so if I come across these ingredients, I generally just skip them. Some dishes have spice levels, if you do it yourself, you can easily adjust this to your liking. And there are always additional things you can pick up while in the store, such as breakfast items, desserts, sides, and those filled baguettes. Is it expensive? Well, it's not cheap, BUT there are advantages. You can choose to make some 'fancy' dishes, and you do not have to buy a whole container of some ingredient which you wouldn't usually have on hand. Let's say your recipe calls for a tablespoon of capers. Great, but the grocery store doesn't sell by the tablespoon. So now you have to buy an entire container of capers, and truthfully, how many recipes do you make regularly that contain capers? Now you just wasted good money. Here you will have all your dishes with all the necessary ingredients, conveniently in one bag including the cooking instructions ready any time you feel like it. No grocery shopping needed. Plus the staff here is very friendly and always ready to assist you if needed.
