As expected, same great service and, more importantly, great empanadas! I was leaning toward breakfast for lunch, so I had the maple bacon and beef empanadas. These are on the larger side and eating two in a row made me feel as stuffed as the empanadas themselves are with filling. The menu has so many fantastic options, so I can't wait to return. On this second visit, I am pleased to see the construction on Columbia Pike is gone and people can access the greatness of Mpanadas. The dining area is perhaps one of the coziest spaces I've seen in the area. You can't go wrong with vibrant patterns, pillows, and the llama mascot. Note to self: these would definitely be a winner for catering or a party.

She was from Columbia (no not the country, but the one in Maryland), and we had a pretty nice time. Food was solid here. Various South American foods. I got empanada and some rice platter with a meat. Overall, I was pretty impressed with the food. The staff was cordial enough but not great. The seating is various cafe style seating. Sad side note, the very next day there was a shooting at Columbia Mall; my date was from Columbia. This was ominous considering I just had date with her. Incidentally, a 2nd date never happened. My 2nd experience here by amazing coincidence was on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. My friend was taking me to DCA airport for a vacation to Chicago & Wisconsin. I treated her to Cafe Sazon for taking me to the airport as it was good option more or less on the way to the airport. I got some carne asada, potato, egg, & plantains. All were very good. My friend was impressed. They were a little slow as I remember we had some time but still I did need to catch my flight. If I was back over here, I'd consider enjoying their great food again.

Everything was delicious, but our favorites were the Swiss Mushroom Burger, Patty Melt, and Juicy Lucy. The Swiss Mushroom Burger was the winner for me. We also loved the chicken and the sauce, which had a nice kick to it. The lychee drink was our favorite, followed by the lemon. We also tried the mango and Oreo shakes. The Oreo shake was a little too sweet for us, but it would be perfect for someone with a serious sweet tooth. The restaurant was clean, spacious, and quiet enough for us to sit and catch up. There is also a fun arcade game in the back. Abdul, the manager, was amazing and incredibly helpful, and Brandon was wonderful as well. We are already planning our next visit, and several of our friends want to try Jon's Joint after seeing our photos. Definitely a great spot for burgers, chicken, loaded fries, and shakes!

Margarita Review Only…read more Came here to sample Poblano's Margarita's that have a reputation for being the best in the area. After trying the Margarita it was a bit of a hit or miss for me personally. On the positive side, The Margarita's are indeed quite tasty and I can see why people like them so much. On the negative side, the base tequila for the Margaritas is Montezuma which is a an inexpensive mixto tequila (not 100 percent blue Agave and has additives to give it a unique flavor). These additives effect the taste profile, in this case in a positive way for many people and are not the classic Agave forward notes you would get from a good 100% Blue Agave Blanco tequila which is my preferred style of Margarita and how to make an authentic Mexican style Margarita. Having said all that I still enjoyed my drink along with the quaint outdoor front porch that I had my drink on. Definately a place to try if you are in the area and see how it compares to other Margarita's you have had.
