Stopped by The Vermont Juice Company to grab a bite during a recent Burlington visit. I wanted something on the lighter side and savory, so I went with the Tropical Salad from the grab-and-go fridge. The salad contained greens, pineapple, walnut "meat," mint and a tahini dressing. It had potential but the acidic/sweet pineapple was a little overpowering for my taste buds. I think if the dressing contained more tahini, the creamy richness of that would have helped to balance out the flavors. But, that's just me being picky. :) My sister wanted to order avocado toast but they were out of bread. I do appreciate a healthy, plant-based spot but there's a little room for improvement. I'd give it another shot though if I happen to be in town. read more

Only dropped in once, and if I had more of an appetite I would've ordered more. So, here's my take for what it's worth! I wish there was a place like this where I live, because it promotes local and organic ingredients. Local is just as important as organic, obviously local organic is the best for some reasons.... but it's all balance, and I love that they focus on this for their healthful menu! Makes the experience even more meaningful for the soul! Anyhow, they have an amazing menu - amazing! The juice choices are impressive and have a good variety for whatever you're in the mood for drinking. I happily drank the Lake Monster in the time it took them to make my smoothie bowl. There are other green juices, beet-based juices, and fruit-based juices. I can't think of other ones that I would want. They also have house-made nut-based milks, oh so creamy! It was hard for me to decide! Then there are the smoothie bowls - who doesn't like Acai or Pitaya? Well, I certainly do, but I wanted something different, and they had that - it was early, so I didn't do the chocolate bowl, but that was a hard fight to win. Maybe in the late afternoon I'd have ordered the chocolate bowl. Instead, I opted for the Maui bowl - all nice and green without the avocado but spinach and spirulina mixed in with pineapple, coconut and mango, made creamy with banana. It was great because it didn't have the spirulina overwhelming the mix. Very nice blend! I ate it very happily and didn't need any toppings - it was thick enough for me to use my utensil of choice. However, for texture, you might want to add some. The reason I really enjoyed this place aside from just smoothies, juices and smoothie bowls, well, they have food food. Kelp noodles and sushi and salad - cause I can't be happy just drinking and eating stuff that requires no chewing. However, I ordered a raw brownie instead... so, seriously, I couldn't eat anymore if I tried. I was very tempted though! Again, if I returned later and they were open around 730pm, I know I would've bought food and a chocolate bowl. This place made me very happy, and I will be back when I'm in Burlington for their excellent variety and intelligent blends for the bowls and juices. The prices aren't crazy, they're expected for what you order and the ingredients they use - just be aware if you've never had fresh raw juice or high quality organic local ingredients, the price is a little higher than the low quality options from other places. Still, it's worth it. You will feel refreshed, recharged, rehydrated and reenergized. Loved it! read more

The woman who made my friends and I smoothies and açaí bowls was extremely rude. I have an allergy to treenuts and she was not understanding at all but instead rolled her eyes and seemed upset when I asked her to make it first and clean the blender. Instead of doing something that simple she told me she couldn't do so and that I would have to take a chance because everything was "already contaminated". She was extremely rude to me and all of my friends. We also overheard her talking to another woman about how she was annoyed that our orders would probably take 30 minutes. On top of all of that she had airpods in both her ears while taking orders. Overall this experience was very bad and I don't recommend this place unless this woman is not working. read more

Adam is on this smoothie kick and knew he had to stop here the second we walked near it. It is a cute quaint apt and you can tell the owners take pride in it. There are two windows seats you can sit in to enjoy your juice or wait for it. They are decorated nicely. For smoothies there are order cards where you can pick the things you want in your smoothie to make it a build your own. Adam's smoothie was just over $9.00 which is expensive but when you think about all of the fresh fruits that go into the smoothie, the price is worth it. I tried a sip of the smoothie and thought it was great. Adam sucked it down in record timing so I know he enjoyed it. In addition to smoothies, they have juices, cleanses, frozen fruit pops, fruit bowls and more. Even though it is a bit expensive, I would say it is truly worth it. read more

Haha yeah this place is awesome. Why? They have pitaya bowls here, guys. I live in NYC and I can not even tell you how hard these are to find. (btw a pitaya bowl is an acai bowl but made with pureed dragon fruit rather than acai berry. They are also a wild bright reddish purple) The pitaya bowl here is especially delicious and fresh tasting. We actually also got an acai bowl as well and that was really good too. We got almond butter on the acai bowl and bee pollen on the pitaya bowl and I have to say the range of toppings here is absolutely outstanding. The juices here are also seem to be very good and my gf really, really loved hers. I forget which one she got but it was a green juice with apple. Anyway, the lady working here was pretty harried but still super nice and very accommodating. The acai bowls and especially the pitaya bowls are absolutely amazing and next time I am in Burlington I will definitely be back. read more

We got a 6-pack, which gave us a discount, & a bunch of great juices: Omega Maple Matcha Milk Root Reboot Brain Boost (part of sale of this juice gets donated to the local charity Love Your Brain!) Greens to the Extreme (my fave mind-clearer!) We also tried the raw Matcha Pie, so good! Creamy, cool, & topped with a chocolate drizzle. Service was warm, friendly, & super helpful. Went this morning (Sunday 5/30), website, google, and store signs listed as opening time as 9 a.m. Door didn't open until 9:10, was greeted rudely by the shop clerk... made to feel like we were inconveniencing her. Went in to do some immune boosting as I was feeling a little under the weather because of my travels. I had a green mountain juice which was so refreshing and I also had a wellness shot. The wellness shot is what really did wonders for me. A mixture of ginger, cayenne and lemon...strong stuff...very strong but Oh so worth it. The lady had warned me about how strong it was but I was eager to boost my immune and I gotta say that it did wonders. I felt so energized within the hour. I was excited about the idea of having an Açaí bowl for breakfast and decided to try The Vermont juice company. I found the place the place very small, only about 4-6 people can sit down and hold their bowl and eat there, it's nicely decorated with pictures of veggies on the wall but I wish they had a place that has table with comfortable chairs that you could sit down and read while you have your bowl- it takes more than just 5 min for a person to finish theirs. About the bowls, I had the açaí bowl with cashew, strawberries and coconut flakes. I was surprised how it didn't taste much like the açaí berry ( Brazilian fruit original from the Amazon), I think the purée has a lot more banana and should named banana bowl with açaí (a hint of it) instead, the coconut flakes were so small and dry that looked like flour and tasted nothing like coconut. Maybe the other bowls are better, I should probably have tried it during summer and I'd had been more pleased?! read more

I hate to leave reviews like this, but I am still thinking about how bad my food was. It's simple - they had one person working a mid day shift (the wait time was crazy) and then I received literally the worst smoothie I think I've ever had. The employee was wonderful. She was patient and had a sweet attitude for someone who was working alone. Im questioning why the management would leave her alone... regarding the smoothie, there was nothing crazy in it that could significantly impact the taste. It tasted like water blended with old bananas. It had the consistency of water as well. That's it. I paid $11 for it and threw it in the trash after forcing myself to drink about half of it. Maybe it was a one off thing, but I've been to/worked at many juice/smoothie shops and never have I been unable to finish my expensive drink, even if it wasn't my favorite. It seems like a sweet place, but I certainly won't go back :( read more

This place is the biggest joke for a juicer i have EVER been to in my life. First of all the smoothies are $8 a piece which i have absolutely no problem paying for good quality fruits and organic products that's normal. But to add to the 8 dollars you have to pay for anything you want in it anywhere from $.50 - $3.00 then when we got the smoothies they were seriously disgusting and so watery. Not to mention the size of the drinks were smaller then a mcdonald's smoothie which i literally went after getting my smoothie here bc i wanted one and i couldn't even drink theirs. MCDONALDS has a better smoothie how embarrassing i be ashamed if i was the owner. They probably don't care anyway bc they make the money they need and enough people go in. so what's my reviews matter. i wouldn't even call it a smoothie. this place is a pure joke and needs to do better. not sure why people like it i will never in my life return or tell anyone to go here. read more

The juice is good- you can tell lots of creativity goes into creating the flavors. Nevertheless, the last couple of times that I have come in the service has been very disappointing. I understand fully that everyone cant be chipper 100% of the time however there is no excuse for providing flat out rude service.
