I noticed bike rentals, picnic basket rentals and exercise equipment that residents can rent to take across the street to the park or use on the rooftop. There is an un-manned convenience store (cameras of course), which shows they really expect high caliber residents. The self-serve coffee/tea/cocoa/wine bar is pretty cool also. Various seating areas separated by a dual glass crystal fire place makes this place fabulous as you wait for guests. There is outdoor seating on the patio overlooking Shaw Park and the swimming pool for swimmers during the summers, ice skaters in the winter. Add to this.... offices spaces and much more! Unfortunately, we have had many water leaks from the ceiling and the recessed lights. After yesterday's storm the "fixes" that the maintenance crew used previously have failed and the ceiling has caved. The water is now spreading in the ceiling to multiple rooms of the penthouse causing massive leaks and water build up. This is now impacting apartments below us. The maintenance crew has been unresponsive for mitigation actions. They will not cover any of the furniture or tarp the failing roof areas to mitigate further damages, after multiple requests. They have also used our beautiful china and our trash cans to catch water from the leaks. Finally, no one will speak with us about the remediation plan.

If you make the mistake of choosing this place you will be alarmed at the apathy coming from their office personnel. Any questions we had was a bother to them. At one time they tried everything except the right thing when we were dealing with an extremely noisy bathroom fan. Once they even bent the blades to "fix" it. They never did fix our ice maker in the whole time we were there. Security is a huge issue as we were alerted to kids kicking on doors during the night. Unattended children walking onto private patios was a problem. A gate at the back of the property was never locked allowing strangers on city streets to walk right into the complex. Dumpsters were constantly overflowing and infested with raccoons. Watch out! Don't get bit. The property managers along with the office manager and staff are completely indifferent to your concerns and appear to try to get by with the minimum amount of work. In summation, save yourself the time of going here to visit or renting here. Some reviews from other apartments seem like past tenants were just getting back at their former landlords. THIS is not one of those. It is an HONEST review of what we put up with. We never knew how could it could be now that we are in our new place. These people have it figured out here. They are extremely nice and friendly. The complex is relatively quiet and I have no issues with people etc. The unit itself is very affordable. Receiving packages is convenient. The location is downtown close to the highway, fields grocery, the new soccer stadium, and several bars. Cons: First, parking is $90 a month for an assigned spot in a gated lot. Unfortunately, my car was broken into probably a month or two after I had moved in. There was a string of car break-ins and busted car windows in the gated lot. Nothing was done by the apartment complex, I was left to fix my own window. Several weeks later, more car break-ins and busted windows occurred. This is a frequent occurrence here at Majestic. The complex refuses to do anything. Even with the gate, people hop the fence to get in. You would think they would hire a patrol person to monitor the lot nightly for the amount they charge us to park. They are making bank off parking and not doing anything to protect our cars. In my renewal, they had the gulls to go up $5 for parking. The only reason it was $5 is that they went up on rent (not by much). My friend who also stays in the complex said they went up a great deal on his parking but not his rent for his renewal. I'm not sure how they are calculating things. Gunshots can be heard frequently and sometimes daily. Just the other day, there were over 100 gun shots heard the next street over. The lighting in my loft needed some work. Half the apartment was dark because they did not include a 3rd lighting strip in the kitchen area. I asked for another strip and they didn't do anything. The ceiling is over 12 ft high so you can't add anything yourself. Frustrating! There's hardly any air circulation in the unit. Nor are there any ceiling fans. If you cook in the unit the smell goes nowhere because of the lack of circulation. The unit is also superrrrr dusty as well. Then there is the key issue. You only receive one key. I accidentally locked myself out of my unit when taking out the trash and it's a nightmare trying to get someone on the phone or trying to get help. They need smart locks or something updated to avoid issues suck as this. Or they can give two keys so that we can have an emergency key or something.

Now that I am out, I can anonymously share what tenants are dealing with due to the new owners…read more Here are a few of the specific complaints from tenants who have been residents of these properties for 3 to nearly 20 years (identifying attributes removed or generalized for anonymity): These new owners are ATROCIOUS. WITHOUT NOTICE, the new owners now allow dogs which one tenant is extremely allergic to, causing them to go on medication due to the new pets in their building and the smell/hair/dander in the carpeted hallway. Another cannot cope with the incessant barking heard coming from the adjacent building. The grass and grounds where children had played are now covered in yellow stained spots from urine and feces of the animals (note: feces is being cleaned up but the damage to the grass is still happening). Dumpsters impede the full use of the driveway. THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING. The new owners are allowing new and disrespectful tenants who scream at all hours of the day and night and slam doors to where the entire building and those on the street can hear - they seem to take anyone now. Non-residents/workers are leaving doors unlocked and propped open after they depart. One tenant pays for a parking spot but someone else is regularly in it, assumed to be a hired worker. They never told one tenant about the construction and they work from home and were unable to run a very important meeting for work due to the non-stop drilling noise. Attempts have been made, without notice, to enter a unit while a minor child was home alone. One tenant is extremely sensitive to pesticide and would vacate for a couple days when the previous owner notified them of a treatment. NO NOTICE was given when the new owners treated, causing this tenant to pass out in their kitchen in front of their small child who didn't know what to do. Poison control was called and the treating company refused to provide the type of chemical used that day without authorization from the building owner. NO ADVANCE NOTICE is being given of construction and apartment entry, causing numerous tenants to experience unknown contractor knocks and entry into units last minute. Notices are no longer posted in the buildings in advance or at each tenant's door. The new owners said there would be drop boxes installed to submit rent - that never happened. An email notice was sent to one tenant the day after the email said they would be entering the tenant's unit - which required the tenant to execute several tasks they were unable to do and it was during the holidays. Non-residents are now entering the buildings and "snooping" through different areas that were previously secured and are now being left open - damage to the property has occurred. The "upgrades" may look nice at first but they are really cheap and remove any historical charm the units previously had. The "improvements" are done so poorly and are cheap and nothing matches, the new paint is already peeling off and you can see through the paint because it needed primer or another coat. There is a new tenant who must have serious mental health issues and there is a concern for children because they are making "demonic dolls" and "shrines" and putting stacks of full beer cans in odd locations in their walkways. Hopefully these owners can take this as constructive criticism to improve their communication and screening process since the tenants don't feel comfortable speaking up about their individual experiences outside of hallway and sidewalk conversations.

Girl all the men in that car have on dresses & makeup. They need to go they need to move. Once the police arrived I spoke with them. I requested that they walk my family to the elevator because it became clear that LGBTQ Americans are not respected nor are we safe at this location. I hired a maid & began the move out process. And the manager Britney decided to come to my unit daily and post notes on my door that she would like me to move out. I moved out 3 days later. I've never dealt with people who stretched the truth like these people. When they spoke to the police they forgot that all this started because the lights, internet, refrigerator, cable was NOT working and All I did was contact the leasing office because the water smelled like rotten eggs. They are very up front with you when touring on things that might be perceived as negative but the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. Free laundry, free pool during seasonal hours, amazing view, and a maintenance staff that goes out of their way to make sure requests are taken care of quickly. (1-3 days depending on urgency). Utilities are also included except for electricity (Ameren). The best part of Mansion House is the community of people. Everyone is welcoming of new residents and the apartment hosts monthly events (usually free or a very nominal fee) to allow residents the opportunity to meet each other. I definitely want to say thank you to everyone in the front office for their hard work and their dedication to not only myself but other residents. After my previous apartment experience in Chicago, I needed a place to move that I could call home. I could have moved to any city in the country basically and I am not a huge fan of St. Louis however I moved here because I found a place where I could finally enjoying living in an apartment. Mansion House has definitely made my St. Louis experience a pleasurable one.
