I never give 5 full stars but I came here for my birthday and it did NOT disappoint..This has been one of the best wine and paints that I have been to in a very long time, when the owner and artist told us that it was going to be the absolute best, they did not lie. It was such a fun time. The owner Jay, was so welcoming, some of my party was late, and he didn't make a big fuss about it, they were very patient with us, and he made sure to set the tone with good music. Our artist Scheyder, was definitely the life of the party, he interacted so well with us and we are a crazy bunch, he made sure that we were comfortable and that we were all having a great time..Studio was very clean, lots of artwork to choose from. They have paint your pet nights, it's just overall amazing.. I wish this could have gone on all night, it was so much fun. I highly recommend this Plantation location. Best experience ever at Painting With a Twist. We called about 15mins before start time to see if there were seats available and Jay went above and beyond to accommodate us. From the moment we walked in, Jay gave us a warm welcome and paired us with a great artist (OC) who got us started with the STARDUST BUDDHA painting journey. It's was my first time in this location and the parking it's not the greatest. I had to park super far because most the parking in front it's for restaurants.. and the smell of food it's super strong . After a reschedule it was only 4 people in our class and the instructor felt a bit awkward and not comfortable , she was rushing a bit until we told her to slow down a bit . What a dud. The only way this could be passable is if it was done at a venue where there is a bar with good wine and food choices. where you are not going to be kicked out before you finish your glass of wine and where you can enjoy some tasty food without having to bring your own cups and napkins. I came here for a girls day out with some of my Social worker friends. The customer service was amazing from the moment you walked into the door. The artist for the day was super funny we had a great sense of humor he made us feel comfortable. I can't wait to go back for another painting with a twist session. The space was super cozy, and comfortable. There is actually two sides to the location while we were there there was also a private party being held on the other side. So it is definitely a good place to go if you plan on hosting a huge painting with a twist event. I would also recommend that you check out the calendar for the location that you plan on attending. You are able to book ahead of time and you're able to see what you were going to paint a head of time. If you would like a private event I know they allow you to request what you would like to paint. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I cannot wait to go back I might go back just on my own personal self-care therapy. read more

I am far from an artist but this is so much fun it doesn't matter. Our office was in for a team building afternoon and this was a great escape from the laptops. It's not often in the tech world where you can disappear at noon for an afternoon of mildly inebriated creativity. Our instructed was a blast. He was very engaging as he guided us through the steps to create an underway tree with jellyfish and bubbles. Needless to say, some were more refined than others. I have done this several times before and have always had a great time. It's all about the people, the right refreshments and a good instructor. The location is convenient on University just south of Broward. My only negative comment would be in regards to the parking. It is limited with little in front of the door. I went here with my team from work and it was a lot of fun. This is a great idea for team bonding and getting everyone out together outside of a work setting. You're allowed to bring your own food and drinks. In terms of art supplies, everything you could need is included. Our artist Dylan made the experience fun and it was clear he knew how to lead some of us who aren't so artistically inclined. He was funny and made the experience enjoyable. We purchased a certificate right before COVID hit in 2020. Well in 2022 the owner enthusiastically resent the credit and allowed me to book for a class the next day. I loved the kind and cool energy that filled the shop. My 5 year old son was treated with such care and attention that he felt comfortable asking our teacher for a picture. I've gone to other paint and sip locations - painting fiesta, paint and cocktails, other Painting with a Twist etc. but it was my first time at this location and I was left underwhelmed, claustrophobic and with a horrible painting. All for the price of $70. It was my wife's birthday and most of her friends live in the plantation area so we decided to try this one out since we've enjoyed other Painting with a Twist locations, we thought this one would be just as good. The first thing that bothered me was parking, it's located in the back of the studio there is no parking in front so you have to walk around. We went inside we were greeted nicely which I appreciate, everything was good until more people started coming in. The class was pretty big and the room was not. I was next to strangers who I became familiar with do to the fact that we were smushed together. Bumping elbows at one point. The instructor rushed the painting and when I asked for help he said that I was "doing good" and Suggested I should "stop touching it" because it looked great. My wife and I threw our paintings away and usually even if our paintings don't come out the best we have a great time but honestly I it was pretty boring just a typical art class and not worth $70... read more

After checking all the calendars on a Sunday, I realized there was only a few that had available slots on the day I wanted to go. I went with my buddy Jenny as she also was in the mood to do something different. We arrived right on time and went with a group painting with plenty of black and white details along with cherry blossoms for the pop of color. The class was easy to book online from the website. I do encourage looking at all the locations and calendars because that way you can see all the options for time and specific painting offered. The instructor was easy to follow gave us some assistance in areas we needed help in. You can bring your own drinks so it's a fun way to spend and afternoon or evening with friends or family. I could've done without the heavy regatón music intro but it got better two songs or so later. I did one several years ago with my husband and I loved it. What a bummer! The instructors were both super cocky and rude. One was critiquing our work and at one point snobbishly defended his suggestion by saying, "One of us has painted for 10,000 hours." They were not inspiring, created no vibe in the room, seemed to be upset and bored to be there and were absolutely disappointing. My friends and I made our own fun, but we should have walked out early like the couple we were sharing our table with. The manager heard us in awe of the rude goodbye we got from one of the instructors and made no effort to check in with us. The class also started 10 minutes late because we had to sit through a creepy sales pitch for dog treats. I would not return to this location. read more

The quaint city of Plantation has been livened up with the arrival of Painting with a Twist! Thank you Jay Golden and your Staff for a fun and exciting grand opening event. Located in central Plantation near the Broward Mall, the venue was packed with enthused crowed, ready to eat, drink, dance and paint away the evening! Jay and his staff were incredible hosts, they provided a bartender mixing up cocktails, food and pasties from JW Pastry in local Davie, a DJ from from Tropical Attractions and gave away neat prizes for attendance and best art pieces. The best part of the night was the entertaining directions from instructor Teresa and the rest of the staff (shout out to Carla). They made the whole experience so relaxing, enjoyable and comfortable for everyone. If you live in plantation, support this new business, book your next party, share with friends and go to a public class. Although this is a franchise, Jay's location feels very community connected already and he's supporting other entrepreneurs to bring it all together. There's a reward program for avid painters or just a fun way to learn and do more of it. We had a fantastic, memorable time and are huge fans of a place for kids, families, parties and fun. I booked an event for Father's day for a large group and Kristen(the girl working at the time) was very welcoming and helpful. We were 15 minutes late and she did not mind at all well at least it didn't seem like it. She was very helpful with the younger children's who needed help with their paintings and even though adults. I'm very disappointed that I have to write such a bad review because I LOVE painting with a twist. I decided to celebrate my cousins 25th birthday here and paint these beautiful glow in the dark lions. When we arrived we thought it was going to be a great time, the instructor had the lights off and it felt like a club atmosphere. Everything went down hill as soon as the instructor started painting. In my previous experience the instructor is supposed to help and guide you so that you don't walk out of there with something you're embarrassed to hang, he's supposed to make the atmosphere lit, get us hyped and dancing. Our instructor didn't help us AT ALL, he gave no instruction on how we were supposed to do anything. If we asked a question it was always "whatever you'd like, however you'd like, do what you want". He kept changing songs we all were vibing to. Usually the instructor offers a free painting for the birthday girl or boy and he didn't even mention one to my cousin. Barely said happy birthday actually and she had a birthday crown on. My cousin didn't even drink any of the wine we brought to sip on because she was so frustrated trying to paint. We felt as if the instructor believed since he could do it we could all do it but that's obviously not the case. Like I said I've done painting with a twist MANY times before and this has got to be the worst experience. She was highly disappointed, we all hate our paintings and honestly it felt like a huge waste of money. read more
