What a cool shopping center in Corte Madera and there's a ton of great stores here like RH! It's petite and has a few great shops.

Hoity-toity Open-Air Mall [Corte Madera CA] The only reason we were here was to pass time between beach time at Muir Beach and a restaurant that we were waiting to open at 4:30p in Larkspur. We had 2 hours to spare. Shopping is no longer my favorite thing to do... at my age I'd rather spend my hard earned money collecting memories (traveling) instead of material things. Unfortunately, there was not one store here that I like (anymore). I used to love shopping at Macy's, Gap, Banana Republic and Pottery Barn. I was looking for specialty stores like a chocolate shop or dessert shop or something... nothing! but we did indulge in some drinks at Joe & The Juice. Some of the stores here I've never heard of: Gorjana, Madison Reed, Tumi, Splendid, Bonobos, Madewell, Vinfast, Faherty, Johnny Was (??). It was my first time seeing an Amazon 4-Star store. Anchor stores are Macy's and Nordstrom. This is an open air outdoor mall. It's similar to our Fountains in Roseville. I do like that this mall has lots of outdoor furnitures especially in the promenade where people can relax and chill and take a break from shopping. There are also water fountains but because California is facing its most severe drought in nearly 50 years the fountains aren't turned on. Review #2353

    A relaxing afternoon.

Great selection of shops and eateries. Very dog friendly. And plenty of places to relax.

That's a picture of the place in Corte Madera that has Unfriendly cash register female

Lovely outdoor shopping mall with high end retailers with the likes of Restoration hardware, Apple, Tesla, Talbots, Microsoft, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, J Jill, lululemon, Gap, Banana Republic, Nordstrom and Macy's. There is a Peet's and Starbucks along with several restaurants. For the full deets, check out their website for the directory. Bring along the kids and the dogs. There is a child play area. For your fur babies, there are small tiny patches of lawn areas specifically for them to do their business with complimentary poop bags. Beautiful outdoor art decorated the center. The shopping center pays homage to the Marin marshlands by having whimsical art sculptures of frog and duck themed water fountains throughout the center. The esthetics was pleasing and adds to a relaxing shopping experience. Plus there is visible security adding to a secure environment. All this added to an overall pleasant shopping experience. But be aware of the hours of operation of most of the stores. Most open at 10am and close by 8pm during the M-F, 7pm on Saturday and 6pm on Sunday.

I have been here a few times over the past few years. It has big department stores at each end of the village and many other smaller shops in the middle. Macy's and Nordstrom are the two big ones and there is an Apple Store, Microsoft store and Tesla showroom. There are tons of designer shops and a few home decorating / furniture shops. It's a relatively expensive mall and really good bargains are few and far between. I have never seen it jam packed and it's easy to get around.

Easy, free parking. Accessible by train and ferry, besides car. Many different delicious food choices from delis to Greek to fancier fare, and The Rustic Bakery, which is where we ate. There is ample outdoor dining in sun and shade, besides indoor dining. Since we arrived at different times, everyone enjoyed browsing through the bookstore, and window shopping around the center. The center is very kid and dog friendly and there are lots of areas and activities for kids to explore and enjoy. It is also clean. The reason for one star off: there is a vibe that all of us felt, and others have said the same thing about the shopkeepers and some staff. I was wearing a top from one of the stores and jeans from another shop there. I popped into each store and was ignored by everyone in the first place and watched as if I might shoplift in the other store. I had only my phone in my pocket and no bag at all. It was uncomfortable-making and I left both stores, which were understandably empty. The place is delightful as a location for walking around with kids and dogs. Lots of food options. But the stores are not as friendly as other locations of the same brands.

Back to Sunday, naturally, every Rivian & Tesla were here to shop the special deals, it was busy! So busy in fact, my register transaction was passed to another associate midstream. I already had waited a decent amount of time before the buck was passed, but then it took additional time to process the Anniversary discounts I had received. I was patient, but I doubt others shopping cosmetics would have been as gracious. In any case, I'm just influencer level, but I was gifted lots of nice discounts and samples; including $10 for the ZBar and $15 towards cosmetics. I am happy I found Osea algae body butter special 2 pack deal, super emollient and perfect for summer and winter skincare. Happy anniversary Nordy's. Thank you for all the goodies and carrying great labels.

Eileen Fisher outfits is that for me and Nordstrom is where I shop for it because unlike the EF store, at Nordstrom I can also buy bras and shoes in the same trip) Nordstrom has outfitted me through the many chapters of my life starting from my teen years. I continue to enjoy the consistent top tier customer service, wonderfully curated options in store, on site tailoring, and their generous return policy. I used to have a Nordstrom personal shopper. Then I was a member of The Trunk. Now I am considering the option to have Nordstrom brought to my home so I can try and buy things without going to the physical location. Stonestown and downtown SF used to be my primary stores. Now it's Corte Madera. This store is so well stocked, I almost never hear "I can order it online". I enjoy the instant gratification of taking my purchases home with me on the same day. The majority of my wardrobe was purchased at Nordstrom. I am a loyalist. PS: don't sleep on Nordstrom Rack at the Vintage Mall. If you aren't local, Nordstrom Rack online is so great for money saving designer options!

I didn't like the look in their eyes when they said that. But OK it's nobody's fault but mine because, as the Godfather Don Corleone explained , "I have a sentimental weakness for my children and I spoil them as you can see." In my earlier life I had failed as a packrat, instead preferring with each change of residence to send stuff to either Goodwill or the dump. So my kids needn't worry about their keepersakes. I'm unlikely to get rid of anything from my years as their mr family guy, being that for the most part their stuff is what little i have to remind me today of whatever it was I did before that. Not much to show for some 20 years as an itinerant... uh, itinerant. I don't learn from experience, just hope to get better results by repeating the same mistakes over and over and over and... which according to Einstein is the essence of insanity, but wtf did he know. I don't know either, but in my case it's a moot point anyway, at least according to the kind folks in Bellevue's 9.39 ward many years ago in nyc. But being much improved now, I have initiative: wake up, smell the coffee, put on a clean white shirt, get a haircut, shape up/ship out and similar happy horsesht, to wit: I was going to organize things for such day that I blow a fuse or something worse, and things will be in order. To make this happen I would pack everything in some nice plastic boxes, just like the winners in this world. Which is how I happened to visit the Container Store for the first time in my disorderly life. It's a bit intimidating to enter this place. There are so many different kinds of boxes, giving the sense that real people pack things up, neat and tidy in hermetically sealed, moisture impermeable, plastic storage boxes built for the ages. All this is an essential part of the good life. OK, but I just wanted something cheap, that wouldn't turn to dust like my old cardboard wine boxes have done after 50 years. Those are nice, free and simple to use with no selection to make, being that they're all the same size. Plus, you aren't likely to overload cardboard wine boxes when you've saving books or papers. Do that with a larger box and they're quite impossible to move without regretting it next morning getting out of bed. To keep on the sunny side of life, as I'm sure I almost always do, my approach is: can't figure how to solve your problem then ignore the problem. Is the Container Store where all my problems can be solved with the right plastic storage box? Really? Fortunately I did find just the right boxes, in the exact right sizes... the only question was what did they cost? It was my luck that the items I wanted had no prices anywhere, not on the shelf nor the items themselves, nor some sort of sandwich board on the pile in the middle of the store. I noticed this detail was missing on other items as well. Perhaps find someone to explain the pricing, but it won't be in a mere five minutes as store personnel are few in number. So I bought what I wanted having no idea what the total cost would be. But I knew that to be a minor issue with these boxes. The problem for me will be actually using them.
