One of the worst places we ate in a long while. For starters, our waitress" shirt was covered in food stains. Should have been the first clue. We ordered a peach smoothie. No peach, just sour (not entirely sure on expiration status) yogurt blended with couple drops of orange food coloring. Fish and chips - you could knock on wood with those things. Same color too. Not sure when the fryer oil was changed last. All meat omelette- eggs fried to brownish crisp, no cheese inside, slightly burned chunks of meat in there. French toast - not sure how you can make something soggy with no batter on one side. Looked like eggs were just cracked on top of bread . One bite was more than enough. Honestly, I'd rather eat gas station food. Probably would be safer too.

Food here is good and hearty. The venue is small so prepare for a wait if you go after church. They also serve excellent lattes, but the regular coffee is pretty good as well. The portions are great!

Love little diners. Went to get some gas and drain our RV tanks fill our bellies. Rustic little diner, lots of locals, back slappin' going on. Fun fun. Great camaraderie. Special of the day-Tri-Tip french dip with homemade fries, homemade?? Happy to see that. She filled our drinks and we waited for our food. Blue cheese dinner salads and we shared the sandwich and fries. Sooo god, and then? She brings me special sauce. ooooooo wheeeee! Even better. Great service, animal heads on the wall, delicious! Yummy food. thanks!!!

Don't be fooled by the outdated interior. This place is great.

The interior of this restaurant could use a facelift. It clearly hasn't been updated for decades. However, the food and coffee at this establishment are made with great love. We had an absolutely delicious coffee here and the people were lovely and welcoming. I recommend coming here if you want satisfying, coffee and food. It looks like no frills, but the service and product are high caliber.

The food at the resteraunt is awesome, but, as for the motel... yeah... it's awesome too! We came up from Las Vegas to get away, and tried this awesome place. Great food, good people, and a nice place to rest your head. Little diner resteraunt with good food that's packed with locals every morning. I got the Bleu Cheese Burger, and it was the best bleu cheese burger I've ever had. Period. And the motel team has been awesome too. We threw a wrench in things trying to upgrade after We already checked in, and they were super helpful and accommodating. We got the Mountain Suite, and it's awesome with the Jacuzzi tub. Attached pictures (sorry for the clothes).

It's easy to find just off the main road, and there is plenty of parking. The food was generally decent. On my first visit, I dined in and ordered the Italian Melt with prosciutto, pepperoni, ham, and sausage. It was good overall, though a bit heavy on the meat and cheese for my taste. The side salad was fine. On my second visit, I ordered the Fajita Chicken Sandwich to go, with a side of fries. The chicken, peppers, onions, pepper jack cheese, guacamole, and sour cream made for a satisfying sandwich. My main complaint is the restaurant's heavy reliance on disposable plastics and Styrofoam. Even when dining in, my salad was served with a plastic fork, and on a previous visit I was given hot marinara sauce in a Styrofoam cup. For takeout, the sandwich came in a Styrofoam container. I would have preferred reusable dining ware for dine-in service and more environmentally friendly packaging for takeout. Overall, the food was solid, but the excessive use of disposable plastics and Styrofoam detracted from the experience. I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars.

When you first walkup to the hotel, you are met with a very rustic, cabin-esque hotel building where you wouldn't expect to find such a fine dining experience. We were sat outside which presented the opportunity to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Sawtooth Mountain range. We ordered several dishes for our meal and every dish was just as amazing as the other! Bigwood Baguette: This was a great start to the meal! The baguette was baked to perfection and had the perfect amount of crunch to it. It comes topped with an herb oil and sea salt which added the most flavorful touch. Soup of the Day: Their soup of the day was a White Bean stew topped with rosemary and hern olive oil. The stew was rich without being too heavy and the seasoning was perfect. Soy Glazed Brussels: The soy sweet chili glaze had such a nice balance of sweetness and the slightest hint of spice. The crispy rice noodles and crumbled peanuts added such a nice textural contrast to the Brussel sprouts, which in my opinion were cooked to perfection! They were seared well without being too burnt or crispy. Beets & Burrata: Hands down one of the highlights of the whole meal. This dish came with a handful of components, that when paired together into one bite on a crostini, resulted in the most delicious amuse-bouche. The burrata was so light and fresh and I never knew that it was the perfect pairing with beets on a crostini. A MUST have. Columbia River Grilled Steelhead: Absolutely stunning. The Steelhead was executed beautifully and the mushroom asparagus risotto was cooked to perfection. Honestly, compliments to the chef for what seemed to almost be an experimental pairing with adding the sweet pesto and blueberry gastrique. Never could have I imagined these flavors being paired together atop a piece of salmon and I will not ever soon forget how flawless this dish was. Pork Schnitzel: This was my husband's dish which I did not have a bite of, but from what I could tell, the Pork Schnitzel was very well done. It was thinned out and tenderized very well and the breading looked like it was golden-crisped wonderfully. I did get to try the mashed potatoes and can remark that they were some of the best I've had! I had some of the lemon caper beurre blanc that was drizzled atop the dish and I would do anything to be able to have a jar of that at home. I am going to talk about this meal for a long time. If you are ever passing through Stanley, Idaho, it would be a giant mistake to not visit the restaurant at the Sawtooth Hotel.

Riding: Ross the owner was helpful describing trails to take our kids. His directions + the Avenza app had us adventuring on trails for hours both days with dirtbikes and our sxs. Our kids made some core memories adventuring here for sure. The scenery was gorgeous and so fun to explore. Food: As enticed as I was by the other diners delicious looking food I kept seeing throughout our stay, at this point in our trip we really needed to cook the food we had in our trailer. So we didn't utilize the restaurant, except I did get an order of the wings for us to all try. They were delicious, perfectly crisp! We also got our kids vanilla milkshakes after a ride, and those were SUCH a tasty treat. They sell farm fresh eggs in the store and those were great too for our breakfasts, I wish I got another carton before we left. Facilities: The women's restroom was nice and clean, and so was their laundry room. If we're able to do another big road trip with the kids like this, The Sawmill Station is a place we definitely hope to visit again.
