A foodie coworker recommended this place to me as a good place to eat. This is a small family owned place - I stopped by on Saturday and was pleased to find one of the co-owners had brought one of their kids in to 'help' them on the weekend. The place looks a lot tired and run down but was cozy. I ordered a large DJ's Special pizza (minus mushrooms). The pizza came out and looked good - the toppings were under the cheese which was a little weird. Pizza tasted good, especially with a little marinara. My teenage son had just finished a game up the street, and he asked if we could stop for wings. So, I searched my phone and there was a place called DJ's Pizza that had a pretty good Yelp score. So, we decided to give it a shot. We walked in and were told that we could sit anywhere. The NFL playoffs were on, so we sat down and ordered the mild wings. Our server, Molly, was super nice and the food was great. My son said, "Man, these are pretty good", and asked if we could back again sometime. A lot of times it takes a few visits to a new wing place to figure out if you should order mild, medium or hot. Next time, I'll move up to mild. My husband and I tried the wings, jalapeño poppers, and their special pizza -- everything was packed with flavor and cooked just right. We were so impressed, I had to come back this week with one of the kids. This time, we tried the cheese bread and more pizza, and it was just as delicious. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and the sweet tea is absolutely perfect -- southern-approved! We drive by this place all the time & it's always packed. We decided to try it. The pizza is thin crust which I typically don't prefer, but it was really tasty. We got the Hawaiian & it's probably now our fav!!! The fried pickles are the best in Alabama!!!! And I'm a fried pickle connoisseur. Normally I go for the chip style because the spears are never done right. These are spears sliced like fries. They aren't soggy. They are perfection!!! We also got the cheesy bread. We were out and did a yelp search for pizza. Good reviews and looked great. Called ahead for large pepperoni, small bone in wings, small boneless wings, and kids chicken strips. Food was ready really quickly. We love a good thin crust pizza! This pizza had really great flavor, toppings were crispy (asked for on top of cheese), wings crispy, sauces were good. Little loved his chicken strips and how can you go wrong with pixie crinkle fries. Service was nice over the phone and when we went in for pickup. New pizza spot unlocked. Came here for dinner to one of our favourite pizza places. Sadly this place has gone badly downhill. We waited 50 minutes after ordering for our pizzas as we watched tables who came in way after us get their pizzas first. The main focus however seemed to be takeaway pizzas as patrons actually in the restaurant were left to wait while staff clearly and obviously prioritised to go orders. A glance inside the kitchen shows the main issue with only two of the three guys back there working...the super tall guy and the older guy with spiky hair. The one with the ball cap seemed way more interested in checking out his phone as he stood around doing nothing. Meanwhile, out on the floor a young guy with long hair and a green t-shirt killed himself to serve all the tables whilst the female waitress focused exclusively on flirting with an elderly male sitting at the bar for the entire hour and a half we were there she cleared maybe two tables and just chatted with the guy, obviously milking him for a large tip. When our pizzas finally arrived they were painfully skimpy...the well loved sticky fingers just a shadow of its former glory. Gone are the chunks of sausage...the only lumps under our cheese consisted of mushrooms. A sparse sprinkling of super finely ground Italian sausage and razor thin pepperoni slices were barely discernible...so sad. The small bacon and cheese pizza was cold and had clearly been waiting in the kitchen for a while. Why am I taking the time to write this review? Because the owner wasn't there and she should really know what's happening behind her back. Sadly we won't be back. At the price you can't cut back on both food portions AND service without losing customers. read more

My parents carry out pizza from DJ's really often. Thought it was high time I give it a try! I've never been inside the restaurant, so I can't speak to decor or atmosphere, but our pizzas are always ready on time -- hot, fresh, and tasty. DJ's crust is on the thinner side, and very crispy, which we like. They use a mozzarella that has a lovely smoky taste to it. My boyfriend and I split the Chicken Bacon Ranch Delight. It was garlicky, cheesy, and delicious! Two homemade ranch cups accompanied our pizza, which was perfect for dipping. DJ's serves up really tasty pizza; try it out as a great local substitution for large chains. It tastes much better, anyway! read more

When I heard there was a fundraiser at DJs Pizza last evening from 4:00 - 8:00PM to support Madison County Wrestling, I wanted to help. I phoned in my order and I got there at 7:15 and the place was packed! First of all, I want to give a SHOUT OUT to the ladies working there last night, including the manager! They were working their derrières off, while remaining professional and friendly! People were eating there and some placed orders over the phone for pick up. As busy as the place was, these ladies were hustling and made sure everyone, including myself, had been waited on! I hope they were rewarded with large tips! I ordered a couple of items to last me for the next few days. I ordered the Spaghetti w/Meatballs; the Torpedo (8") which had ham, salami, pepperoni, mozzarella and homemade meat sauce and came with fabulous tasting French Fries; and a Ham & Cheese Sub (8") which had deli ham, American cheese and mayo, along with the fabulous French Fries. The side salad that came with the Spaghetti was fresh and it was a nice mix of veggies and cheese! Everything was fresh and delicious! The atmosphere here is relaxed and "homey"! The dining room and bar are very inviting! I would highly recommend this place! And I plan to return in a couple of weeks! DJs Pizza - keep up the excellent work! Y'all are appreciated! The Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza was absolutely amazing. The smokey crispness of the the crust was unique and delightful. If you want a thicker crust, you won't find it here. That's okay because they make up for it with flavor. I'm giving it an overall sore of four but only because of the lack of crust options. When we were looking for a house to buy; we saw DJ's on our way to the house we were looking at. Since it wasn't far, we figured we'd stop there for lunch. That was the first of many times we have been to DJ's. The pizza is the only thin crust I can get my husband to eat. In fact, he often suggests going there. Have tried several things on the menu, and never been disappointed. Service has always been good. Everyone has always been personable, and never made us to feel like we were a bother even on busy nights. Is this the only pizza joint we go to? No, but we like a few pizza place here in Huntsville. However, this one is one we enjoy going to often. And yes, it was a factor in us buying the house we were looking at, and now call Huntsville home. ;) read more
