There is plenty of parking in the lot and we were able to get a table for two easily near the bar. Hostess was friendly and server was nice and attentive. The food was ok. Cheese curds were a little cold and our chicken wrap only came with 4 onion rings. They had a man playing live music which is always a treat ! I'd return for drinks and appetizers.

It's Saturday and i am tired from the seminar I went to. So we decided to go here for dinner After a short wait we were seated we ordered the Saganaki (Opa!) my husband chose the pork Schnitzel and Chicken Lemon Soup and I also had the same soup and a stuffed salmon special that was amazing. On Saturday they normally have live music with a variety of tunes. So it can get quite loud. But he's good and it's fun to go there. Our sever was excellent!!!!

So me and my son went to dinner. It was not as busy as I have seen in the past. It was also hot out. Our server was a great guy. Patient with us. He did have a few tables maybe to many he was running and had a big section alone. But held his own. Food was ok. We had a burger and wrap and the triple appetizer. All the food was good and good flavor. My son got a virgin mai tai. Go try it. The music was not to loud that we were grateful for.

Not very nice to homeless people - I was smoking a cigarette attempting to promote a fundraiser for about 12 seconds outside and was made to feel incredibly unwelcome by a lady inside. When I need help I ask for it. I don't think they quite understand how much it hurts not being able to sleep anywhere but on concrete and clay. So the wedding they aren't going to be able to ever hold in my name will be held in a field, quietly, away from all the danger of the money system. Thanks for causing this financial wreck, myself, to stop the cyberbullying in this final way.

We've been driving back-and-forth and we saw the building being beautifully rehabbed a year ago and…read morefinally it opened and we always wanted to give it a shot "sometime". We have heard mixed reviews, but not in the positive sense but we still wanted to give it a try because we like to keep the money local if possible. We always attempt to support our local restaurants and businesses nearby first beforehand. That "sometime" became today, and it was full of regret. The first thing we noticed is that the outside lamps were really dirty. Full of cobwebs... I mean Really dirty- and for a building in that new of a condition? That should have been a clue, but we decided to still give the courthouse a try. We had the margarita flatbread, which was OK and two Arnold Palmer's. After that, it all went downhill from there. We were given dirty napkins to eat with: yes it had food chunks & stains caked on it from the previous user we'd assume: Disgusting... But we didn't complain. Why? Because we thought it was a fluke... (dismiss- for now) The place was not busy at all. There was only one table other than us occupied, and three people sitting together at the bar and Abigail served us, but after the flatbread was served by the runner, she never checked on anything else (only asked if we were ready to order- okay -another pass) We noticed in between times) She was more interested being on her phone than the patrons who "could pay her way", and we waited for 40 minutes after our order had been placed to have something else to eat. Yes. It took that long: I ordered the steak burger (medium)and my wife ordered the 5 hot wings and we waited. And waited. No "pulse check"... we sat there waiting. On a Sunday.... We finally noticed that Abigail finally went back.... and then brought out our food, which was by that time: cold. We believe she knew it was out there, and yet she still served us. (Huge problem) My steak burger I asked for was overcooked and grey looking. It was under the light warmer- drying out while we waited I'd assume. She never told us why or suggested a refire...The cheese had dried under the heat lamp, so it is of our opinion the staff & Abigail forgot our order and let it sit out for at least 10 to 15 minutes under the heat lamp in the back. When it came out, the fries were overcooked and shriveled and again... they must have been sitting there for over 10 min or so, and it could've been longer for all we know...it was such a cold mess for burger, fries and wings.... heck, Culver's on RT 120 serves a quicker, tastier and way better deluxe burger than this place... And yet: After seeing this mistake, she still served us thinking we'd still eat it? We stated we didn't want the order anymore, (pointed out the issues) and instead of asking to maybe comp the flatbread (refire our meals again)or something like that (she could see we were not happy)or apologize for the mistake, she just told us that she just took off the burger and the hot wings and rang us up as if nothing happened and it was our fault we noticed this issue. It is our opinion that She did NOT care at all about the situation. As if we were bothering her to do her job that we came to visit to help inject money into the local business. She was totally disconnected, and in fact, she had taken a check from the table near us, and she had forgot to ring his check up. So he too, was waiting around for about 10 to 15 minutes with his son at the table, before she finally realized that she still had his credit card and hadn't ran it to be processed or debited.... We really wanted to give this place a nice try, but after this, we won't be back. Such a bad experience for a local business near us. What an utter disappointment.

Date of visit: December 13, 2025…read more I love a good Mexican place, and as much as I enjoy Carlos's, it is good to have other options for when I go to visit my friend in the McHenry/Spring Grove area. The restaurant is very large with a variety of seating options including some interesting swings. I say interesting because it's really more of a novelty than anything; honestly, do you really want to have a seat that moves while you're eating chips with salsa? The menu is interesting, with a heavy focus on birria (think brisket, if you're unfamiliar) including in a dipped/fried taco as well as a grilled cheese sandwich, which is what I went with. While the meat in the sandwich was good, there was very little cheese to speak of, and that should be an important component of a grilled...cheese. However the chips and salsa were excellent, with some of the best chips I've had in quite some time, they really taste like more. In terms of the salsa, they are not lying with the "Diablo" in their name. If you are not a fan of spicy, stay away from the salsas as even the mild is fairly potent after a few chips. Also note that sour cream is available but doesn't tend to come WITH things by default, so be prepared to ask for that if it's a key part of your Mexican meals. Also disappointing, the tacos come with raw onions on top. This isn't mentioned on the menu, and was a very unwelcome addition to the dish. Service was a bit of a mixed bag; Jasmine was nice and attentive but struggled on some aspects, including telling us what the three salsas were when she brought them to the table, and saying that birria was a "biscuit," which thoroughly confused us. She asked if we wanted more chips and we declined, but then she brought more anyways.

I recently had knee surgery so opted to buy a VIP Table in the balcony so I didn't have to stand all night. I was glad I did because the band played for over 2 hours and there was also a DJ. The venue itself is dated and carpet and furniture upstairs smells musty, like an older bar. However, the view and sound from the balcony were pretty good, and we had our own little dance party upstairs. It is a walk downstairs to use the bathroom, but we appreciated that there was a bar serving drinks upstairs. During a few parts of the concert, it sounded almost like the song started off key, and we kept seeing the vocalist tap his ear, so not sure if there was an audio issue. There is parking nearby, if you arrive early enough to get a closer spot. The employees here were working hard to get everyone inside, despite the long line. Drink service in the balcony was fast. There is no separate entry for VIP. Just one long line and once you get inside are then brought to your ticket area. In all, I would say we waited outside for close to 30 minutes before we got inside for bag and ID check.

They seem to run the venue pretty well - no goony bouncers or shady staff lurking around. Stop in for a show if a band you like is playing here! The Vixen is a great music venue with good sound!

I'm glad we didn't skip this place based on the Yelp reviews. The restaurant is in the heart of downtown McHenry and next to the river. I highly recommend sitting in the enclosed patio. It's spacious, full of tvs, and has a nice view of the river. You can tell based on the menu and confirmed by our server, burgers are their thing. All kinds including beef, bison, chicken, turkey, veggie and fish, some choices are an up charge. The burgers come with a side, some have an up charge. Our server mentioned everything is made in-house. I feel it's a rarity of restaurants to made their food in-house so it made me excited for the food. Everything is reasonably price. I opted for the BFM burger and pickle chips ($2 up charge). The burger was juicy and well cooked. Their burgers are 1/2 lbs so it was big. The pickle chips were crunchy and really good. Portion was huge and worth the up charge. My lunch partner chose Cajun fries and they were crispy and flavorful. Our server was great! She was so nice! One negative, they allow dogs and many people brought their dogs. Since the space is enclosed, I did not like all the dogs while I was eating. It was tricky leaving since the hostess stand is located in the tight entrance and there was a dog right in the doorway. My lunch companion is deathly allergic to dogs. Luckily this dog owner was considerate and moved their dog so we could pass. Other than all the dogs, we enjoyed our meal and would come again.
