Haven't been here in forever, and wanted bar food appetizers. It was not at all crowded at 6ish on a Sunday. Husband had the Basin burger and enjoyed it. I had the fried zucchini, the wontons, and raspberry sour. All wonderful!

Kenzie was our server for a party of 24 and separate checks were provided for our holiday gathering. Everything was perfect. The food was fabulous the venue comfortable for a group and the service exemplary. We would definitely return for another group luncheon.

One of my favorite local casual restaurants with great pub food and great beers. They are always concocting some fun new recipe at their brewery but I'm still a big fan of bitchin berry and sun smacked. They had a special menu (in addition to their regular menu) in honor of the Reno Rodeo with bbq and chili additions-so good!!

Ever since they sold out to Reno food group it just isn't the same. The food has gone downhill. It's not the same feel good local restaurant. We went to dinner tonight and now they have the audacity to add a 2.5% fee to credit cards? I have never seen that at a restaurant like this.

Thank you again from the Brentwood Patriots!!

Large parties? This is the perfect spot for team dinners! From the moment we called to make our reservation, everything was seamless. The seating, service, and overall experience were truly exceptional. We had a group of 50+ people, and the staff handled it effortlessly. We pre assigned our families by their jersey numbers, which made ordering and splitting checks incredibly easy and organized. A huge shout-out to Tyler and Corbin--they were absolutely amazing! Our last family arrived around 5:45 p.m., and by 6:30 p.m., our entire group had received their food. Serving a party that size that quickly is impressive! This level of service speaks volumes about how well this establishment is ran -- from the hostess stand to the servers and the kitchen staff. Everyone worked together to provide an outstanding experience. Exceptional service from start to finish. We highly recommend this restaurant for team dinners, large parties, or any group event!

Came here for dinner with some friends and had a great time. We started off with some appetizers which I thought were good for the most part. The pretzel with the cheese sauce was good and their garlic fries were good. My husband ordered the French dip which was delicious. I tried their Pick Me BBQ platter which was really a disappointment. I ordered the pork belly, ribs, and jalapeño cheddar sausage. It also came with pickled red onions, sliced pickles, and garlic bread. All 3 meats that I ordered were definitely dry and tough. Pork belly especially is supposed to be juicy and tender, and mine I had to cut with knife. I did like the flavoring on them, but I just couldn't enjoy it because it was so dry. I think coming for a burger or sandwich might be better because I did enjoy the French dip better. Service was ok. Didn't really see our waitress until towards the end of the meal.

We arrived and were told it would be a 25 min wait totally fine our party hadn't arrived yet. 12 min later we were seated the waitress was lovely explaining they ran out of cups (the table next to ours had like 25 people) totally understandable we got our waters in plastic cups no biggie. One of our party members was running late but she still came up and checked on us. Finally we ordered and waited our food came out four in our party ordered burgers, two ordered Ceasar salads including my self and one got the steak the entree of the day. She refilled our drinks promptly dispite the restaurant being busy. We enjoyed our time here quite a lot and would definitely come back!

Always incredible service, pretzel a MUST, adore the meat platter, especially when I want flavorful ribs! They really care about their beers, here, always something special and new to try! Not to mention their fresh, locally made pasta with spent grains from the brewery for sale!

Man, every time I come here it's either great or poor, and this last visit was subpar at best. The service was great as a starting point, but outside of that we had a poor experience. From walking in and smelling the same cleaner they use at the dog kennel is not a great intro to a food establishment. But we brushed that aside and tried to enjoy our dinner. Drinks were prompt but the food didn't taste right, and that was for our entire table. I don't really know what it was, I wish I could pinpoint it but both the burger and patty melt were off and all 4 of us didn't eat more than half our meal, which is disappointing for a dinner out. I'll just leave it at the fact that I won't be coming back anytime soon as there are better options with better quality and a better smell and ambiance.

One of our usual haunts as we like to sit at the bar and eat our meal. Tonight we went with mom as she wanted to share a pizza. It is usually exactly what we ask for, good bar food, good beer and drinks. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Monday night burger and a beer is a good deal. Always a special - just depends on the night. Tonight my burger was well done - ordered medium due to training a new chef. Manager comped the burger and our beers. Very receptive and apologetic and not indicative of the quality of food we usually get. I would recommend Great Basin a thousand times if asked. Always good service, food and beer!!

I've come here a few times to grab lunch since it's super close to my work and I've never been disappointed. The food is always fantastic! I got the Cajun salmon salad and it was delicious! The service was a bit slow to start but was great after we got our drinks. It was extremely loud in there but that place is always busy so I don't expect anything else. They have a great menu selection as well as alcohol selection. Never have a bad experience here!

Came in for lunch and had a great meal. The green pepper burger was excellent. John was a great server. I tried a new orange pale ale that was really light and crispy. Fast yummy lunch here!

Ellie was an amazing server! We came in with a huge group (I think 15!) and she was on top of it. Food was great, but Ellie really completed our experience, she deserves lots of praise !!

I see in the photos there's an outdoor seating area! Is it dog friendly?

Yes, we do have an outdoor seating area. It will be set up when the weather gets warmer, but it is not dog friendly. But our Sparks location has a patio that is dog friendly!

What is with the added fees for certain beers? A random upcharge for beers that are already a but overpriced? what's the explanation?

The added fee is based on the ingredient list. To make beer with an exciting and distinct flavor, we have to purchase ingredients like fruits, specialty hops, and unusual grains or herbs that may have a higher cost. Craft beer is also made in small…

Regarding the food, the menu is notably inconsistent; for instance, the tots--which we generally enjoy when they are actually available--change in preparation method every time we order them. As for the pretzel, while the bread quality, flavor, and accompanying mustard were good, the portion of beer cheese was very stingy and tasted bland. We also ordered the buffalo wings, which, despite having good flavor, had a texture that felt like they were boiled from frozen and only briefly finished on a grill. Our drink experience was similarly average: I found the housemade shandy decent and the Tahoe Blonde enjoyable, while my wife's house Chardonnay was entirely unremarkable. The service throughout the meal was also underwhelming and felt our server was the only one causing king wait times for drinks etc.. While the two young gentlemen at the host station who assisted our waitress in bringing items to the table were pleasant to deal with, the overall quality of service remained unenthusiastic. We keep returning with the hope of a better experience, but it continues to be a 'meh' visit.

It was due to the seasoning. However, it was packed with a variety of flavors. It wasn't dry and loose, which is what I have encountered at a few other places. All in all, there was so much in it that it was difficult to evaluate what I was eating, which is a good thing. It means I'll have it again :). It functioned as a whole rather than as separated ingredients to give a complex flavor profile, which I appreciated. The fries were seasoned beautifully. Very savory. I enjoyed them. Cooked wonderfully as well. The tortilla chips in the nachos.. I don't know if they were made there or not, but they gave the impression of being store-bought. The quality was not great. The nachos themselves... plenty of ingredients that you can mix together, but the ingredients weren't like a complete package. They were like a pile of separate things. I expect a well-balanced mixture of ingredients. The layer of queso was below while the avocado was clumped up at the top. The ingredients separately were quite bland. I wouldn't have this again. The brownie was better than a flourless chocolate torte and quite large. I enjoyed it, though I would say that it's not as good as a more standard brownie. I wouldn't have this again.

Cut and pasted from their website: "Slieve means "A…read moreMountain" in Irish Gaelic, their family roots." Quality/Quantity - Been an extremely long stressful day! So I NEEDED a break from the day to just relax and stop thinking! I gave my wife a few options, a few breweries to choose from (or for me to just go alone, which she would not have let me drink and drive, especially all the way from North Reno). So she/we chose to go to Slieve as I have not been there yet. Actually, all 3 choices were breweries. The good news is that there are more and more new breweries opening. The bad news is that there are more and more good breweries closing, in ALL my hometowns... My first time in a nano brewery; cool. Today I got (and tried the following), all Slieve brands; support local: Oh, I did not know you had a happy hour M-F from 2-5pm; I just missed it by 13 minutes... Should not have spent so much time outside taking pictures for Yelp, lol. Pale Ale - Good, but I prefer more flavor. This is currently my second "go to" beer after reds. Jimbo Porter - Better, but then I tried the Cookie Monster! I also did not taste the coconut. Cookie Monster - My favorite of the beers, so much flavor. And I am NOT usually a sweet beer drinker. It was not an overwhelming stout, probably due to the sweetness, but you can definitely taste the chocolate and slightly coffee and caramel flavors. I would get this again, but it would always have to be my last beer due to the flavors. Beers that I need to come back for when available are: Your reds, IPAs and of course your "Trinity Tripel." Ambiance - On your "about" page on your website, it says you are still looking for a home for your brewery...? Is that accurate or does that page need to be updated? Cool space, indoor and outdoor seating. Bar and table seating. 2 bars, one the back, probably only used for events. Semi private room when you walk in. Ping pong, darts, games, cornhole, cool decor on walls throughout to read, etc. Open 7 days a week, see their website. Yelp's hours/days differ slightly. Event spaces are available; see their website.. Service - Good. We were also greeted by Shannon when she and Phillip came in later for a drink or two... Phillip was too busy drinking to say hi, lol. Price - $8 a beer. The typical cost for good craft beer. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2022 with your nanobrewery; I wish you the best and am glad you own the building to help you weather some "storms."

We got there a little early to pick our spot at the bar. We were greeted by Shannon the owner. She is a lovely lady and later met her husband Phil. They have owned Slieve's for about three years. They have a spacious building and super clean! The staff are friendly and accommodating. There is no food on the premises to purchase, but you can bring your own food or ordered inn. It was fun to sample Girl Scout cookies and taste beer. We started with 6 tastings but they threw in a couple extra. The event was well organized and the Girl Scouts were there to sell their cookies. I was a Girl Scout 50 years ago. I think a box of cookies was $1.00 - $1.25. I paid $7. Times have certainty changed.
