My latest visit to Great Basin redeemed my trust in this location. The service was great, our server was very attentive throughout our meal, checking on us several times and was friendly and attentive. Out food was all delicious, the Cheeseburger was cooked perfectly and I like the sauce that they put on it. The fries were delicious and cooked perfectly.. We also had the Chicken Bacon Avocado sandwich with a side salad and it was all tasty. My son got the chicken nuggets and was happy with those, great meal all around! They were out of the Happy Days IPAAAA so I ordered the Tectonic Event which was really good, just what I was looking for in a flavorful IPA. Had a couple Great Basin Brewery gift cards from Costco, so my husband & I decided to try their menu out.There was no wait to be seated,the place was not packed and not very busy. Average noice level. This place looks like it would be fun for a group. They have a lot of beer if you like beer. They also have a signature drink menu. I tried the Huckleberry Lemonade with a splash of Sprite instead of the lemon juice. And,also tried there potato skins appetizer with ranch dressing and we decided on there Detroit style pizza called Three Little Pigs. The potato skins were kind of average,the bacon seemed overcooked and didn't really taste like bacon. The pizza was good but I think there was just too much cheese and not enough of the meats. Had such a good time at the one in Carson I decided to give this one a go up in Reno and see how it compares. I was eating by myself for this one and got some good service form the waiter, this one was more crowed when I came for lunch so it did take a little longer to get my order in and foods to arrive. I thought the non alcoholic cheery soda was okay, the soup of the day (red pepper) was amazing, and this chicken sandwich bag I've style had a way stronger kick to it.It was so spicy I had to dip it in ranch to finish's it. I admit Great Basin isn't one of my usual spots. I stopped with a friend on a Thursday night to use a gift card and not cook after a long week. First, GB has a great patio that no one was using on a perfect July evening. When we asked to be seated there the hostess said "no problem, after the first person asks others will follow." She was right. We went a couple of items from the happy hour menu and were not disappointed. Calamari fries were served piping hot and tender. The Asian wraps' flavor hit all the notes. Service was good. I love a great patio, and this one was large, comfortable, and offered great shade. But do note if you are there to talk with friends, you are at a very very busy intersection. The traffic noise was loud at times. I would still dine on outside given the choice. There's lots of immediate parking around the building and nearby. read more

I have been to Great Basin several times, including the one on 4th St., and I love this brand. OK, the greeting "just one?" is not my favorite (maybe just ask everyone "how many?") but everything got better from there. My server was Alexa/Alexia(?) and she was excellent but not obnoxious in her hovering. Good good good. The staff, service, food, all really good. I was in the S Virginia/McCarran store this week and had the chipotle cream chicken pasta for the first time. SO flavorful. Comes with garlicky bread, also yummy. I got 3 meals out of it and I have an appetite! Great portion. One of my favorite things about these restaurants is that even though they are large and busy, they are not deafeningly loud. The pretzel with the cheese sauce was good and their garlic fries were good. My husband ordered the French dip which was delicious. I tried their Pick Me BBQ platter which was really a disappointment. I ordered the pork belly, ribs, and jalapeño cheddar sausage. It also came with pickled red onions, sliced pickles, and garlic bread. All 3 meats that I ordered were definitely dry and tough. Pork belly especially is supposed to be juicy and tender, and mine I had to cut with knife. I did like the flavoring on them, but I just couldn't enjoy it because it was so dry. I think coming for a burger or sandwich might be better because I did enjoy the French dip better. Service was ok. Didn't really see our waitress until towards the end of the meal. read more

We arrived and were told it would be a 25 min wait totally fine our party hadn't arrived yet. 12 min later we were seated the waitress was lovely explaining they ran out of cups (the table next to ours had like 25 people) totally understandable we got our waters in plastic cups no biggie. One of our usual haunts as we like to sit at the bar and eat our meal. Tonight we went with mom as she wanted to share a pizza. It is usually exactly what we ask for, good bar food, good beer and drinks. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Monday night burger and a beer is a good deal. Always a special - just depends on the night. Tonight my burger was well done - ordered medium due to training a new chef. Manager comped the burger and our beers. Busy Friday night and we in the spot, don't believe me? Just watch Great Basin handle it Al with Grace and ease. We rolled in like liquid thunder, two four year olds, one two year old, a seven year old and three tired parents, each with their own agenda. One kid has a headache, one needs the bathroom, and the other two can't stop bugging each other, and all the parents want is a little quiet and a drink. The solution? Rescue in the form of that delicious sticky icky bread from the register! That sated the littles for long enough to allow the big kids to get their drinks and some real food in before happy hour ended. The butchers platter with two choices for 10 bucks is a killer deal on this happy hour menu. I got the pork belly with hot honey glaze and a link of their basket style chorizo on mine and it came with a side of spicy brown mustard and some pickled onions plus a little horseradish And a piece of garlic bread. Just the perfect little meal, but of course I had to order some of the smoked chicken wings with the house dry rub and also some of the brewery fries while my friends added on the brussels sprouts and we pretty much have the whole menu. Kids went with the mac & cheese, which is a huge portion, and there were no complaints. Only quiet kiddos. Nice piece of of salad on top of brown rice, edamame, red onion, carrot, cucumbers, ginger, avocado and cilantro. All of the different items blended so well. The aioli was served on the side. Haven't been to this location in a while. Went with my parents and my daughter. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit inside and it was a tad loud because of the football game on but not at all anything to complain about. We got the beer battered zucchini sticks and they are definitely the best in town. I got a cup of the beet cheese soup and a pepperoni pizza. My daughter got a side salad and the fish and chips. We have never been here before and menu is interesting. Stopped in for lunch. Ordered the Wisconsin Beer Chedder soup to start. The soup was delicious and even had some vegetables in it. My GF has the Cajun Salmon salad and love it. I had the Buffalo Chicken salad. The salad was fresh and good but the chicken was heavenly breaded and hard - I mention it to the manager (who just came to be sure we were happy) and he immediately brought me a plate of grilled chicken (with a side of buffalo sauce). Decided on Great Basin Brewery for this evening's dinner. It was Saturday night without a reservation so we had a short wait but not more than 5 to 10 minutes. The place was full and bustling and everyone appeared to be having a great time. We were seated in the corner which we like to watch the room so it was perfect. We ordered drinks, vodka tonic, lemonade, soda which were served promptly. We decided on jalapeno bacon poppers and chicken nachos for appetizers. We ordered the half appetizer of nachos which was more than enough for three people and were served six generous size jalapeno bacon poppers which were really delicious and not spicy. For our meals we tried the Thai chicken pizza which I have enjoyed at other places and wanted to try here, the chicken sandwich with side Caesar salad and barbecue bacon burger with onion rings. The Thai chicken pizzas really good with a sweet peanut sauce. The crunchy toppings and the sweet sauce versus the chicken and cheese made a perfect compliment. It also has cilantro on it so if you don't like cilantro beware there is a lot of it. At first I thought it was Thai Basil but no, it was cilantro which I love so it was good for me. The chicken sandwich was thick and juicy, really delicious and the Caesar salad was just a perfect size. The bacon barbecue cheeseburger was really good and served to order but the sauce was a little bit acidic. I guess we expected a sweeter sauce but it was overall a very good sandwich. No room for dessert. Our server Maddie was very pleasant and attentive and checking on us continuously so kudos to her. Enjoyed the vibe and the food. Excellent every single time. I swear it seems like I constantly have a new favorite menu item after each visit. There's a great amount of space in both seating areas including the wrap around bar. The patio is nice also, but doesn't always offer the best protection from the sun. The service is always outstanding and they are usually very fast when taking orders, bringing drinks and food. And should you ever need any help selecting a beer, the staff are always so happy to help and will bring you samples to narrow down the decision. For my lunch choice I decided on the chicken Ceasar wrap with fries. The wrap is light and refreshing, and the absolute perfect amount since we also had fried pickles and split a pretzel. (not pictured, we were too excited and dug right in lol!) There's another menu item that I highly recommend which is the fried chicken sandwich. That have the regular option and also spicy. It is beyond perfect and I was hooked on it for awhile. We had the Nashville Hot Fried Chicken sandwich and the Crispy Fish Tacos, and they were both delicious. Though, I thought the sandwich could have been a bit bigger. However, I was also a huge fan of the Garlic Parmesan fries as a side. They were hot and the garlic was loaded on! My fish tacos were great, the chipotle sauce and coleslaw toppings really added to an already great piece of fish. The tacos are a decent size, and you get three of them! My margarita-esque cocktail was also good, but did taste a bit like mixer only. I have never been here before, but know this is a popular place! The restaurant was pretty packed when we came, even though it is big with plenty of indoor seating and a patio as well. I've been there several times since 2023, and the food is always excellent. I should probably try the pizza, but the burgers are so good that I can't not order them. Service is also great. Last time I was there my dad was with us, and he has Alzheimer's, which causes him to be a bit difficult to deal with. (He thinks things are taking longer than they actually are and gets impatient).
