I finally made it over to Dubs Sports Lounge after hearing about it from a few friends, and it definitely delivered a fun, laid-back experience. I ordered a cheesesteak and a side of loaded fries. The cheesesteak was stacked with thinly sliced steak that had a great sear, topped with melted cheese that actually coated the meat instead of disappearing into the bread. The roll held up well and had just the right amount of chew. The fries came out hot and generously topped, with bold flavors that didn't feel thrown together as an afterthought. What stood out most to me was how welcoming the staff were. They took a moment to answer questions about the menu and made a couple of recommendations without any rush. We are on the hunt for a good sports bar to enjoy some bar snacks and watch the Ravens game and based on the reviews I thought we were going to hit it in one. We walked in for the Sunday night football game and no one acknowledged us so we took a seat at the upstairs bar. After about 10 min the person working the bar let us know he wasn't taking orders and was closing the bar down. We sit down and despite there being 4-5 staff members buzzing around for shift we were again not acknowledged and ultimately didn't put our first drink order in until 30 min after arriving. We should've left but I rationalized it was shift change and thing would normalize. But I was not prepared for the troop of 20 somethings getting off shift and screaming about taking shots. This may be your vibe but really not mine. Take your end of shift shot but don't expect me to be excited for you. I particularly enjoyed that they were careful to not be directly behind the bar but clearly were standing in the well area that the only shift staff person had to pass through... what was the magical difference? We ended up getting the game day sampler. It was fine, I like my wings fried hard and these were soft and sliders were meh. Our friend's burger was not well seasoned. After the gaggle of shot takers departed our bartender was able to normalize the flow and things were chill but the vibe was already ruined. I really wanted to love this place. They do have an amazing amount of screens to view whatever sport is on. I came in with my bh and an out off town friend on a Sunday to watch football. We were greeted by friendly staff and ordered a couple of pints. We followed up with a food order about a 1/2 hr later. It took another 1/2 hr to get 2 of the 3 orders. After another 15 minutes, our server came over and apologized and let us know the cook missed the order and gave me a beer on the house. 30 minutes later, still no food, server let me know the single cook was slammed (bar is not 1/2 full at this point), but it should be soon. Came back to check out Dubs again. Short walk from Silver Legacy . They have all the sports (NFL, UFC, etc) Good value on food and drinks. The food might have even been better this year. When I visited Reno last year, this location was "The Stick". The place had reasonable beer prices and decent TVs, so I returned during my most recent trip. Speaking with the bartenders, the change took place recently. The place isn't as dark as it was before. They removed the tint from the front windows and repainted a lighter color. But the important thing for me remains: the beer prices are reasonable, and the TVs are ok for watching sports on the weekend. read more

What difference a change of ownership and a deep cleaning can make! We have come to this site since it was Chocolate Bar. The last time was when it was Sticks and it was dirty and the food was meh. We vowed to never come back. We came for a late lunch and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Well it certainly lived up to all the good reviews. First and foremost the cleaning and general sprucing up makes all of the difference. Alex our server (and bartender) and Derek (one of the owners) made us feel totally welcome and checked to see if everything was ok. Ok, this is a sports bar and the food is very much geared to that particular patronage. It was really good sports bar food. I had the Classic BLT, my husband had the Chicken Tenders. Both came with a generous side of fries. The BLT was quite good with crisp bacon, fresh tomato and lettuce served on thick lightly toasted sourdough bread. The balance of the three required ingredients was good and just the right smeer of mayo. The fries were crispy and held their crunch and taste even when they cooled. The portions were huge, so probably sharing an order would be better for the two of us. Looking forward to coming back and trying some of their other offerings. The cocktail menu looked really good. We came here the new spot to check out the NCAA Championship Monday gameday, I walked into the venue with high expectations for a fresh new atmosphere, but unfortunately, some new paint did little to improve the old look and old TVs, which some still had color issues. Our group of 8 occupied seats on the 2nd level and promptly ordered appetizers and drinks as soon as we sat with zero wait. It took approximately 20 minutes to receive our first round of drinks and an additional 10 minutes for our bucket of fries, which were definitely worth ordering came with a secret sauce kind of sweet but Smokey if it was just a little spicier they would be awesome. Although the Buffalo Wings were just okay--being somewhat cold and not crispy--the Garlic Parm wings had excellent flavor and were warmer. The Jalapeño poppers were enjoyable, hot, and delicious. Throughout the evening, we ordered about 5 rounds of drinks, each of which took some time, leading us to double order to avoid running out. Overall, considering that the establishment is still new, I hope they can improve their customer service and, if possible, upgrade the TVs. read more

Consistently checking if we needed anything and keeping the drinks flowing. The menu is "standard bar food" with a mix of something for everyone from teriyaki chicken bowls, to salads, to fish and chips, to burgers, to some of the best street tacos I've had! Yes it looks very similar to The Stick but also it's a turnkey bar. Fantastic service! The food menu is better but my favorite item was the fries. Which they do sell a bucket of fries for $18. I would've preferred the wings crispy. The garlic Parm for the wings is a sauce, not a dry rub. BLT you'll have to ask for mayo and I'd prefer if the bread was a little softer. Had the chocolate lava cake but probably will go somewhere else for dessert next time. Overall at least we still have a sports bar downtown. This took over for what was previously The Stick. It is all set up the same way with some minor paint changes (lots of TVs, good music). We went on their grand opening. Service was slow but that is to be expected with brand new staff. Our food took about 45-50 minutes to come out. They are NOT JOKING about the bucket of fries. It is not a pale, it is a large bucket. Between 7 people we could not finish the fries, just an FYI. Burgers and sliders were solid choices as well as the chicken nachos.
