This place DESTROYED my hair. Came in for a color correction just before Christmas, explained in detail the state of my hair, it's history, and desired outcome before booking. At appt did the same in the chair with the stylist and she assured me she knew what to do. I got there at 11am, was done at 6pm. I came in with crimson pink hair and grown out roots looking to go back to a natural dirty blonde; I left with grey brown hair where my roots were, and pinkish grey brown ends. And the bottom half of my hair is FRIED. She said, well we didn't quite get your desired results, come back after the holiday and I can tone it free of charge. Then charged me $225 for hair even the other stylists were balking at as they walked by. I paid and tipped her 20% because I do that - like an idiot. Then called my girlfriend in the parking lot and burst into tears. Just be up FRONT with people if you're out of your depth! Don't pretend like you got it handled if you don't know what to do and let me go to a salon that can? It's more professional and I wouldn't hold it against you. I've been to 3 salons since for opinions and they've told me I should wait 4-6 months before touching it otherwise I'm going to need a PIXIE cut. I still can't believe she charged me $225 dollars with a straight face, neither can my girlfriends. :( read more

I scheduled an appointment for my daughter with Shelbie, for her first ever eyebrow/lip wax and left feeling so happy and impressed! My daughter was incredibly nervous before her visit. I should've known better than to go to this place. Their clientele is mainly older white women but I was told their facials were amazing. Plus the reviews are all decent. I agree this place is probably awesome... if you're an older white lady. I came here for a facial, nothing fancy. I told Sierra about my skin, (typically dry, sensitive) and that I would be getting multiple facials before my wedding in May. She spent an hour rubbing various things on my face and scrubbed the shit out of my skin. It didn't hurt and I assumed an Esthetician would know what they were doing. Ever since then (5 days ago) my skin has been flaking, extremely dry, scaly, and burning around my eyes. I am not allergic to anything and my face skin is wrecked for the time being. I hope it heals up soon. Cannot recommend this place for biracial or black women. read more

My roots were looking pretty awful and I could not get an appointment with my regular stylist. It's so difficult to find a stylist that does the right thing on my hair. It can be a bit of a pain in the ass. My appointment was with Stasya. I spoke with her a few days prior to let her know exactly what I wants done. We exchanged texts and pictures. I was impressed by her abilities and her overall performance. The salon was really nice. They had a lot of beverage choices as well as some snacks to enjoy. My hair looks amazing! Stasya has an awesome attitude, she took great care of me and my hair. The prices were very reasonable. I can see myself coming back for sure! The owner Sarah Minor is incredible as a stylist and colorist, not always easy to find both in one person. She is a gift to the industry. DO NOT RECOMMEND IF YOU CARE ABOIT YOUR HAIR!! My cut with Sarah was terrible. Instead of a trim, she cut 4-5 inches off my hair after we discussed at length that I was trying to grow it out, and I didn't want to lose any more than I had to. my stylists have been working with me for years to conserve length - she just undid two years worth of work. To add insult to injury, she barely blow dried it and it was frizzy the second I left the salon. I cried my entire drive home, and still cry when I look in the mirror. You made me hate my hair when it used to be the one thing that made me feel good about myself! I called later to talk about my experience with Sarah and she was rude on our phone call and ended up hanging up. Never been more disappointed. read more

It was my second time at the salon, I needed a touch up. Marie texted me asking if we could change my appointment to 4:00 instead of 1. I told her I could do 2:30, but no later. We settle on 1:30. At 1:45 (I was of course 10 min early, so I waited 25 minutes for her) she comes in and promptly tells me she was NAPPING and her alarm didn't go off. Umm, my whole days plans changed to accommodate her nap?? Then she made my highlights too yellow, didn't get the roots (which is why I came in!), used the hair dryer in my ear, the list goes on. If you have been considering permanent make-up, I would like to tell you about my personal experience and also recommend to you Mary Jane Leigon of the Vineyard Salon in Auburn. When I was younger, I had very nice, thick, dark eyebrows, but as I grew older they became much thinner and lighter colored, and it became necessary for me to use "brow shaper" or eyebrow make-up. That was fine except that I have an active lifestyle including running, working out, and hiking, and whenever I would sweat, my eyebrows basically washed off. It was such a hassle to have to keep reapplying the brow shaper all the time! I was a already a customer of the Vineyard Salon (which is wonderful) and I heard that Mary Jane was extremely talented at applying permanent make-up, so I decided to try "permanent eyebrows". I am absolutely thrilled with the result! Mary Jane gave me beautifully arched, gorgeously shaped eyebrows that are there 24 hours a day, and I love them. I was so ecstatic with my eyebrows that I went for the permanent eyeliner as well, and I love that, too. My husband and I recently spent two weeks on vacation in Colorado hiking in the Rocky Mountains. It was so great to wake up every day and look nice without putting on make-up and also to be able to work out really hard climbing mountains and never to worry that my eyebrows had sweated off. Going to Mary Jane for permanent make-up was literally one of the best things I have ever done for myself. It has made my life so much easier, and I am so happy with the outcome. As mentioned above, if you have been considering permanent make-up, I would highly recommend Mary Jane Leigon. She is a true artist as well as a sweet, kind and caring person. I've been going here for quite some time and really like it. The location has easy access, the setting is lovely, and the interior is pleasant and relaxing. With a large deck overlooking a creek and small garden and vineyard, it's a lovely place to process your color. There are several talented stylists and nail professionals. I chose Vineyard hair salon because I had visited there once before, and had an excellent experience with my stylist Tracy. It had been awhile since I had my hair styled, so I decided to revisit here, pretty confident I would have a good experience. Wrong! I was assigned a stylist that turned my hair into a disaster. After I went home, I noticed that one side of my hair was almost an inch longer than the other side. The cut was not blended at all, my bangs looked like a comb across my forehead, and she had cut my hair straight across the back instead of the rounded cut I had come in with. I called the salon and they said I could come in the next day, so that same stylist could fix it. Why would they assign me the same stylist that messed it up??? My daughter called the salon and spoke with the manager. My daughter ask that management fix it. The manager's response was," Why should I fix it? I'm not the one that ruined her hair." Wow! After further conversation with my daughter, she reluctantly agreed to redo my hair. But after that kind of insensitivity, and poor service, I will never go there again. read more

I had a very bad experience at the vineyard salon, I showed them what I wanted and discussed it with one of the ladies that worked there and she told me it would be a simple full highlight, $150. I came back a month later or so and had my hair done and it ended up being $250 for a full set of highlights and toner. I was unhappy with my hair, which isn't unusual in the hair business so I asked to talk with the lady who did my hair if we could talk to fix the issue. She wasn't there when I called but a few hours later she texted me blew up on me calling me immature, and basically stupid that I didn't like how my hair turned out. She took way too personal and all I wanted to do was try to compromise a way to fix it because I wasn't about to pay $250 for something I don't even like. (Mind you I'm a broke college student, I don't have that kind of money) she also blamed me for mixing up the prices that I should have gone and talked to her before as if that's my job. I ended up paying her the whole $250 (with help from my mom) because she made such a fit about it and wouldn't even cooperate with me to handle the issue. Not only did I have to deal with her, the owner of vineyard salon texted me asking for the check (which was in the mail, it takes awhile for mail to arrive). I complained to her about how unprofessional her employee was l, I sent her all the texts and showed her how rudely she talked to me, she didn't do anything about it. Not even an apology. I understand customers can be difficult or can be unhappy with their product (trust me I work at a restaurant) but it should always be the customer is right. They are paying for good money for a good end result. I was in disbelief how small of a problem turned into a huge war. I approached it very politely and tried working with them, but I thought it was extremely unprofessional how they handled it. So this is a sad story of a complete misunderstanding. When I started at the Vineyard the new stylist who had just joined the staff gave me a quote for hair color and cut. After 4 months of having my hair done when I went to pay the bill it suddenly had gone up. She was in a hurry to finish another customer and blamed me for her being late because I had asked for a slight trim. So I left the salon. On the way home I realized the total cost was off. So I called back and asked for the pricing. The receptionist quoted me the prices. The prices had gone up without me realizing it. In addition, the receptionist added the total incorrectly. So I told her to just have the stylist call me. I just wanted to understand the charges. I told the receptionist I was happy and not upset I just wanted to explain my surprise at the increase. I didn't need a refund. What I received was a text message from the hair stylist telling me she canceled all her appointments with me and I should go to another salon. In addition to this situation, the hair stylist must of been in a hurry because the dye did not color my gray. This all could have been resolved with one phone call. But instead the hair stylist brand new to the salon decided she had the right to kick me out of the salon completely by text based on hearsay. How sad. read more

Marie did a cut with color and highlights for me. She has gentle hands and a pleasant demeanor. She was able make suggestions for improvements and then have the result come out exactly as she had described. The salon is very nicely laid out and even has snacks and drinks for guests-- perfect for me since I arrived with kids after work. Unlike some salons which may reek if chemicals, have gaudy or completely absent interior decorating, Vineyard Salon is pleasing to the senses.
