I got my hair cut for donation to wigs for kids. She literally cut my hair for donation which I thought that was free so I didn't want to bother her for styling. However, they charged me $40. Who cuts hair like so that is looks like a broom and charges? The least they could have done was style my hair knowing I was going to be paying $40. All of my friends and people whom I know don't know what to tell me about my $40 hair cut Anyway my husband made the appointment and he didn't confirm the cost and I didn't confirm with him. I came here to get my hair done for my sisters wedding a few months ago. After reading the reviews on yelp I decided to request a cut and style from TYFFINY. Big Mistake. I had no idea she was only 19 or 20 years old! I was nervous from the get go. To make a bad situation worse Tyffiny never bothered to ask me how my day was. All of her conversation was awkward and one sided. She kept running on and on about weird personal stuff that I really wasn't concerned with. In just over an hour she opened up about her childhood, a relationship she had with a meth addict and about how she wasn't sure who her baby's father was! WHAT!?!? ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! I really didn't need to know all that, thank you! I sort of smiled and nodded my head as she continued to unravel every small detail of her very "interesting" life. God, help me. Maybe I caught her on a bad day. Who knows? But that is no excuse for ruining my hair and my day. My experience with Tyffiny was so strange. Thinking back I wonder if she may have been on something? I don't know, I don't care. My cut looked nothing like I expected. It was 2 inches shorter than I wanted. The style was just okay. It was a bit of a let down really. Imagine how you would feel if you paid a small fortune to have your hair done for your sisters big day only to find out a 20 year old with major issues was the one running the show. OMG! Talk about scary. I am sure there are some quality stylists at this salon, but Tyffiny was not one of them. I'm not much of a gambler when it comes to my hair so I'll probably just go to "The Artistic" on Lincoln Way like I usually do. read more

I just can't say enough good things about Teresa Morgan, Nail Specialist at Visions. My sister Sharon recommended Teresa to me..if only I had listened sooner! I have been getting my nails done off and on for years (both acrylic and gel), but they never lasted more than about 1 1/2 weeks. Every nail specialist I ever went to told me that THEIR nails would last at least 3-4 weeks, but none of them did. I was going on a cruise, and at the last minute Teresa fit me in, even though she is always very busy. I have to say it was the most pleasant visit I have ever had at a nail salon. Teresa was gentle and did an excellent job on my nails. Not only did my nails last through my 2 week cruise, they lasted for over a month with no issues!! Got my hair styled by Tyffiny for the wedding I'm in today! Bunny did the brides hair and it looks AMAZING!! I took off one star for price, for hair done at salon (not on wedding site) I thought it was a tad pricy. Can't comment on any other service since I just got my hair done in a bridesmaid "up do" which is pretty cute but certainly not a style I would normally wear. Robin Gibson has been doing my hair for eighteen years, the last five or six (or so) at Visions. While I have not sampled the other services offered at the salon, the people have always been friendly and the space is very relaxing. I have very curly hair and Robin does an amazing job of giving it a beautiful shape that is wash and wear ready to go. We've experimented with different lengths and colorations to suit the seasons, and I am always pleased with the results. Besides being a very talented colorist and stylist, Robin is also a very lovely woman whom I am pleased to call my friend. Do visit and ask for Robin, especially if you are a curly girl like me. P.S. First off let me say that I'm not suprised that the majority of the bad reviews are regarding wedding hair/makeup experiences. The one word i can use to describe my experience is APPALLING! It was unbelievable how bad my trial run went. Good thing it was just a trial run. I had Libby when i went into Visions Salon. She was nice, but honestly if i cold give a half a star review, i would. I went in to do a trial run on my hair and makeup. I had emailed her pictures prior to the apointment of what I wanted my hair to look like. When I came, i showed her pictures of how I would like my makeup to look like. When I left, the only thing i liked was the back of my hair. My makeup looked not even REMOTELY CLOSE to how i had asked for it to be. My face was so shiny i looked like i had been out all night dancing already and she drew my eyebrows on so dark i looked like groucho marx. The back of my hair looked nice, but the front was flat, oily and also looked like i had been out all night. I took pictures right after i left and sent them to my sister, who said it didnt even look like me. I had asked for a light smokey eye, and ended up looking like i had a black eye. The colors of the eye shadow were blended wrong and after i told her my face looked oily/shiny, to which she replied "oh i dont think it looks that shiny", she added more bronzer. You dont add bronzer on a shiny face! And to me, if I dont think it looks good, thats all that should matter. I also told her i wanted a nude lip and she used a super shiny lip gloss that was a pinkish color. The whole time i was getting my makeup done, i had no mirror in front of me so i couldnt see it until she was done. She had pinned my hair up (in curls) while she was doing my makeup so i diddnt see it till the end. The whole ordeal was just not what I expected at all. I finally got a refund check from one of the managers for half, which i still feel was not enough. $130 for a trial run is just wrong. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It was not worth the time or money. read more

She is also very accommodative, I work and have 3 kids she has gone out of her way more than once for me while in a pinch.
