Many other stylists use layering techniques that probably look good on thick or wavy hair but don't work for me. I appreciate the way Julie listens to my ideas for my hair but suggests modifications based on my hair type and color. For example, she was able to tell me that if she highlighted my hair exactly as shown in the photo I brought in, it would look stripey because my hair is so straight. My hair looks great!

I visited Visions Salon last week and got a cut and color from Tracy H. She styled my hair beautifully for my wedding two years ago (I can't believe it's been that long!), and both my mom and cousin see her regularly. I live in Sacramento and my usual hair stylist moved out of town about a year ago, so I have been searching for a great salon and stylist ever since. My mom highly recommended Tracy H. when I told her I was in desperate need of a change, and I am so glad she did! I brought in a few photos for reference, and Tracy talked with me at length about what I was looking for and what would work with my hair. For the first time in a long time I felt like a stylist actually tried to *understand* why I like what I like instead of just trying to replicate whatever photo I brought in. Donovan has been doing my hair color and cut for several years now. I had him do my hair extensions a month ago. He is very professional and always listions to what I have to say about my hair. After months of discussing hair extensions We decided to do 12 inch hair extensions. It was the best decision I have ever made towards my hair. I love my hair. I wish I did this sooner. The salon is excellent. The inside is relaxing, clean, and doesn't have that choking nail polish smell that some other places have. It's a tad on the pricey side, about $45 for a wash, and typical cut with layers. I don't get my hair colored but I know that's a lot more. I go to Carrie Brewster - she's so sweet and does an excellent job. She also really pays attention to what YOU want and will cater the cut to your usual routine. I highly recommend her - she's very professional and pays attention to detail. The parking lot is really cramped and difficult to park in. Tracy H. at Visions has been my hairdresser for almost three years and I want to personally recommend her to anyone who is looking for a hairdresser with experience and maturity. She has guided me from a very short hairstyle (that had been a mistake by a previous hairstylist), through the horrible growing out stage and kept my hair stylish and current while doing so. Tracy H. Is the most talented hairstylist I have ever had touch my hair. She made me look beautiful for my wedding and every day since. She always does an amazing job no matter what I have done. I LOVE Visions! I've been going here for the last 7 years and I've never gone anywhere else. I get my hair cut & colored by Donovan, and he's absolutely awesome. Very funny yet professional, and always makes you feel comfortable. Yes it is on the pricier end of salons (especially for a college student like me), but it's worth the price because of the atmosphere. I go to school in southern California, but I come up to Auburn during school breaks to get my hair done because I trust no one else! AMAZING! This salon provides an enchanting experience. In a BEAUTIFUL historic mansion, it provides the character and luxury that I deserve when I think of "A day at the spa." Even after moving to Roseville from Auburn, I still make the commute up to Visions. Lets face it you find service like that you must go back! I get my hair done every six weeks by Amanda. We were referred to Darci a few years ago to cut my boyfriends hair and she always did a great job…read more Unfortunately, I was still seeing some other girl for my hair cut and one day made the mistake of using that girl for hair color and I ended up with burgundy hair. Burgundy might be great for some women, but not for me, I have a very conservative look. As soon as I was able, I had Darci correct the horrible dye job so I could look and feel like myself again. After that mess with the other "stylist", I began seeing Darci for all my haircuts. Darci does an amazing job with my thick, naturally curly, red hair, she even gives me great styling tricks to make taming my unruly mane quick and easy. Darci moved to a salon a bit farther from us and a few months back my boyfriend made the mistake of going to some barber who butchered his hair giving him the worst hair cut I have ever seen. I was horrified and promptly scheduled an emergency appointment with Darci to try and fix it before an event the next night. Let me tell you, Darci performed a miracle on that hack job and although it took two cuts for it to grow out, Darci did an amazing job making him look presentable again. He will never make the mistake of going to anyone else and now we make the short trip to Auburn every few weeks to get the best cut for my mans great hair. Darci is awesome and is always so great at accommodating our weird schedules, squeezing us in when she can.

Not being familiar with the area or knowing anyone, I looked on YELP and I found my stylist forever! Darci is AMAZING! She was able to match my hair color perfectly as if I had gone to her for years. The cut was stylish and she takes time to listen to what you want (something most hairsylists fail to do once they have their scissors in hand). I just love this Salon and Darci is very friendly and professional. She squeezed me in at the last minute and I would highly recommend Darci to anyone!
