    Delicious!

We were staying at the Occidental so decided to give the Virginian a go for dinner. So glad we did! Outstanding. The space and atmosphere scream historic hotel, which is fun - especially if you are staying at the Occidental. We ordered a bottle of wine and the flat iron steak with chimichurri sauce and the truffle fries with asparagus. So good! We loved the food and the atmosphere, staff couldn't have been nicer. All around wonderful and highly recommended.

It was my first time having elk so i was skeptical but when in Wyoming! The meat itself was very tender, better than beef in my opinion. No gamey taste & was paired with a fruity reduction which was fabulous. Highly recommend this restaurant for a nice night out or special occasion!!

We were hoping to find something within walking distance of the museum but our first choice was closed on Wednesdays. The ambiance is charming, old west. I expect that this is the most expensive restaurant in Buffalo,WY. Their menu includes entrees from $25 to $55. Being on Eastern time still, we entered at 5:00pm and were the first patrons. We were waited on promptly and served bread and salad. It is now 6:00pm and we are still waiting for our entrees.

It's definitely the definition of "Fine Dining". The staff is excellent and the waitresses are the sweetest! I highly recommend getting the Elk Tenderloin with a side of truffle fries or truffle Mac n cheese. You will not be disappointed! They Elk will leave you wanting more the next day! So stop in and have a delicious bite to eat. They are open select days and hours so be sure to call ahead to check times.

Amazing atmosphere, terrible food. From what I understand they go through cooks pretty often, so hopefully they get a new one soon.

We had a meal chicken and beef with corn and beans all fine. We heard a talk from the owner regarding the Johnson County war for control of the area, ranchers v farmers. I would not recommend this venue based on my experience being part of a wedding that took place…read morehere recently. First, despite checking in late Thursday afternoon, there were not enough tables or tablecloths available to set up the reception area. After asking multiple times and speaking with several staff members, we were told that they would personally set up the remaining tables and provide the missing tablecloths. However, when we returned the next morning (the day of the wedding), no additional tables had been set up, and the tablecloths were still unavailable. When we spoke with the main staff member about the issue, we were met with rudeness and profanity. Despite written communication between the venue and the bride confirming the guest count, the venue had the wrong number of attendees recorded, which affected the amount of food that had been prepared. Once the issue was resolved by reviewing the written correspondence and confirming that the mistake was on the venue's end--not the bride's--no apology was offered for the error, the inconvenience, or the unprofessional interaction. On top of that, the reception space was not clean upon arrival. While a small amount of dust is understandable for a rustic, rural venue, the floors had not been swept and the windows were dirty. I will say that the food was very good, and our room accommodations were comfortable and clean. Unfortunately, those positives did not outweigh the lack of organization, professionalism, and customer service we experienced.
