We have had very disappointing interactions with this vet consistently. They seem to be very money…read moreoriented and not really focused on pet care. This makes sense as they just moved into a new building and I'm sure rent is more expensive now. The normal vet also has a very short, poor bedside manner. I much prefer the float vets that fill in when she is out. Although the owner does have pitbulls so is not afraid of mine (which is the biggest draw to this clinic)! Overall underwhelmed and have felt judged for my desire to treat things more naturally and holistically, which is how I prefer my own care so of course want the same for my baby. Have a family member who was not texted a reminder so missed their appointment and were charged for the visit. I get it, but it was very annoying they blamed them when it was their system that caused the error. Unfortunately we will be looking for a new vet for all our animals. Update after owner response: My family member was called back after missing the appointment without receiving the notification (an internal mixup for that, but your system mixup with incorrect contact details that were never verified when appointment was set) and immediately threatened to be sent to collections. They understood there was a mix up in notifications and planned to pay the fee. Your staff did not need to threaten collections which is what caused the anger and angst. The fee was paid but you've lost multiple clients. I'm sorry if there was profanity, which is not appropriate, and for that I apologize. We have also not once been given any information on acupuncture or other holistic treatments and have been told natural options and non pharmaceutical ideas would not work or were not recommended by you and others in the clinic (travel vet). It's unfortunate you tell us about these items via a public review, but not while in office seeking care for our precious animals. We've been looking for acupuncture and had no idea you were trained. And I have brought up my discomfort to you around non-holistic options at multiple appointments. It would have been nice to be provided alternatives while there seeking care instead of told by review. Yesterday's events did precipitate this review, but the sentiments have been the same throughout our time together, which is unfortunate. We wish you well.

Great. thanks. Found out myself after follow up that I was dosing wrong because I mistakenly bought U100 syringes thinking they were the same unit volume as U40, thankfully I thought to look it up because the Vet had no interest in asking to make sure I understood what I was doing when his Blood sugar hadn't changed Didn't ask me any life style questions to help me figure out how it developed, couldn't tell me if it was type 1 or type 2, the follow up appointment felt like I was being handled as a formality, I come to the vet to get help from a professional, not get test results read to me

With what was clearly her kidney's shutting down and much discomfort, Bella, was becoming aggressive and upset and this was breaking our heart, but your doctor easily wrapped her in comforting burrito blanket and created space for gentle sedation to let us hold her, comfort her, love her before the stronger sedation and final medication to allow her transition to ultimate peace and comfort. I brought my dog, Lupo, there during a medical emergency while we were traveling from North Carolina, and what followed was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. We were already in a state of panic, far from home, trying to make the best decisions we could. Despite that, there was a profound lack of communication, compassion, and transparency throughout his care. We were never offered the option to stay in any rooms, just to rest for a little. Being 45 minutes away while our dog was critically ill created unnecessary distance during the most important moments of his life. The most devastating part is that we were only contacted when things had already taken a severe turn, and that call was not a supportive update, but a frantic, high-pressure conversation where I felt like I was being almost yelled at that he needed to be euthanized immediately. There was no sense of guidance, no compassion just urgency without support. We were not called earlier as he declined, and we were not given a real opportunity to come and be with him in time. Because of this, I lost the chance to have any meaningful final moments with my dog. By the time we were involved, he had been intubated. That was not what I wanted unless it was absolutely necessary as a life-saving measure, and it ultimately robbed me of being able to hold him, comfort him, or say goodbye in a way that had any meaning. That is something I will carry with me forever. When we last saw him, he was placed all the way at the bottom of a cage. It felt impersonal and distressing given how critical his condition was. There was no sense that comfort or dignity in his final moments was being prioritized. To make matters worse, a necropsy (autopsy) was performed without our explicit consent. This was incredibly upsetting and felt like a violation during an already devastating time. The lack of clear communication and consent around something so significant is completely unacceptable. After his passing, the handling of his remains and the lack of communication continued to cause harm. Because of delays and inability to reach anyone, his body was not released to the memorial service we had chosen in time for us to receive his ashes before our flight home. We were forced to extend our stay, rebook flights, and incur additional expenses... all while grieving the loss of our baby. I understand this is a teaching hospital and that not every case has a positive outcome. But communication, compassion, and respect for both the patient and their family should never be optional. At no point did I feel supported, informed, or prioritized as his owner. Lupo was my world. He deserved better. And no family should have to go through what we experienced here. There was no compassion in here. There was only a severe urgency to give us a large bill.

I was told that CSU operates under a "seven‑day open billing consent," meaning my bill could actually increase even after I had already paid and left the facility. This was never explained to me beforehand, and being informed of it only after raising concerns felt both unprofessional and intentionally misleading. The idea that additional charges could be added for up to seven days after my visit caused significant stress and made me feel taken advantage of during an already urgent and emotional situation. I will be submitting a formal complaint with DORA regarding lack of transparency, inconsistent medical information, questionable billing practices, and delayed release of medical records and x‑rays. I will be requesting that this complaint be reviewed by Client Services, the Hospital Administrator, and the Service Chief overseeing my kitten's care.

It's only a YEAR later that I'm getting around to writing this review, and the experience with this company still makes me tear up, with gratitude! As a first-time client, I had some special requests, like keeping my dog's body for a few days while I finalized ideas for memorabilia. They honored my wishes with such grace and compassion. When I needed an urn, they went above and beyond, showing me their inventory so I could select the perfect one, as each wood option was uniquely cut and meaningful. Their attention to detail and genuine care for my situation made such a difference. Despite my attempts to give them a cash tip as a thank-you, they kindly refused and asked that I leave a review instead. So here it is (a YEAR later): Caring Pathways offers incredible service with a truly compassionate touch. I can't recommend them enough. They offer a cancellation window up to 4 hours before your appointment and allow you to carry over your deposit to when you reschedule, with no extra fee. So thankful for this understanding. The cost may feel steep, but the in-home service is so so worth it. Iverson had his last meal while the pain meds were administered. It was a distraction where he didn't even notice.
