I have to admit that even though I work out some, I know very little about advanced sports nutrition. I pretty much work out old school by doing lots of push ups and some treadmill jogging. Whenever I think I need protein, I just eat some fish or steak. Even though I feel physically as strong as ever, I've noticed that as I've gotten a little older my recovery time takes a little longer. So I decided to step my game up and find out about these workout supplements everyone is using now. I've also been thinking about adding some light weightlifting to my regimen. So I figured the best place for me to go is The Vitamin Shoppe. The Vitamin Shoppe I went to is located in the Buckhead section of Atlanta. It's about two blocks from the Buckhead MARTA transit station and is right beside Caribou Coffee. Pristine office towers and hotels dominate the surroundings. The layout of the store's interior is organized and clean. It was a little hard, however, for me to determine what everything was and how it would help me achieve my goals. One of the employees there (I don't remember his name but he is a dark skinned black man with dreadlocks) provided commendable customer service by patiently taking the time to answer my questions. I ended up purchasing some RedCon1 Tango Recovery for a total of $32.66. Hopefully, when I grow up I'll end up like most of the other customers there who were walking around looking hard-bodied and strong. At least I'm going to work hard and see where it takes me. Heading to work exhausted of drinking the same protein shakes, in search of some thing with a different flavor that I can tolerate. Walked into the vitamin shoppe and got really warm and friendly service. While shopping looking for other things that I didn't need, I overheard the conversations with the manager of 8 years and the customers walking in. It's the first time that I ever felt like a bug had establishment was a neighborhood establishment. Not just a cookie cutter chain. I'll definitely be back. The manager is passionate about creating a worm welcoming environment to the point to where he knows all about his clients and their lives. That's notable. read more

My experience is always pleasant when I visit this location. The guy who usually works the counter is always very nice and personable, which is rare to find in customer facing positions now. The store always has what I need in stock. The phone customer reinstated 2 rewards I had that were expired and I was able to use them within minutes. Today was my first visit to The Vitamin Shoppe, and it was a good visit. I have been wanting to get on a green kick and decided to duck in here and grab a jug of wheat grass. Immediately upon entering I was greeted by one of the staff who showed me right where their wheat grass was and told me about how they were running a special on it. What has happened to Vitamin Shoppe?! I have shopped online and in store with them for 20 years with no problem. The last 4 orders (online and then online with in-store pickup) were a disaster. Order #1: My card has been double charged - took 30 days to reconcile the 2nd charge. Order #2: Because of the problem from Order #1, my account was "on hold"? They placed a hold on that order but didn't tell me until I called about it...order then shipped 2 weeks after and the order was terribly late. Order #3 - shame on me - Order lost by UPS. UPS would not rectify, nor would Vitamin Shoppe. Finally reached someone at Vitamin Shoppe that resent the order, but it was long delayed and damaged upon receipt (protein wafer bars packed with heavy drink cans - no packing, no cushion). Order #4: Tried phone order with in-store pickup. (Live in Atlanta btw with HORRIBLE traffic 24/7.) I ordered via phone and they said it would be ready for pickup in 1 hour. Went to store 2 hours after phone order for 1 single item. The sales associate said I would have to wait for them to "assemble" the order - again ONE item. He then acted as though I would need to come back later! Store was NOT busy - only 2 other shoppers there who were working with his other associate. He was rude and seemed irritated that I wanted to pick up while I was there....almost telling me to "calm down" and that I might need to come back later. Do they forget that customers are the reason they have a job?! So, I think no more Vitamin Shoppe for us! Try Vitacost.com instead. They are way better and their customer service is incredible. read more

Only minus is it's located on an extremely busy street with heavy traffic so you have to be mindful not to miss your turn to access this location. Not so easy to turnaround. The Vitamin Shoppe in general is way over-priced! You can to go to GNC and get most of these supplements for a fraction of the cost. This location though has great customer service. I've been loyal to vitamin Shoppe for years and every location I go to has matched Publix price for celcius 4 pack $6.99. Today I was turned away because the employee couldn't find the price on Publix website. I asked if he wanted me to call Publix and he said no that he wouldn't be able to match the price if it's not listed. Went into the store to talk about the order & coupon 1st lady didn't understand what to do, 2nd lady told me they can't honor online coupons because it will affect the bottom line for the company. Went here last weekend with my boyfriend and won't be coming back to this location any more. We spent about 20 minutes in the store looking at different protein powders and bars. To my surprise, the store clerk was following us around the store. Every section of the store we went, the clerk was magically there with us as if we were going to steal something. Even more odd, was that the clerk was a young black man with glasses. We spent over $100 in the store and that will be the last amount of money we will spend at this location. I've been battling with intermediate anxiety lately and thought about going to see a doctor and getting some prescription drugs for it. I have a big marketing event and I was feeling anxious, so I walked into the store and asked this friendly sales associate Max. He promptly showed me all of the different alternatives and picked out a supplement called theamine. I bought it and immediately took it after I left the store. About 15 minutes later, it took the edge off of things and I feel completely relaxed. What a great feeling. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and say he was a new employee. The man working there was already assisting someone as I walked in so I didn't get a greeting, which is completely fine. After he was done, he came and asked if I needed assistance. I have to admit, he was not knowledgable at all lol but I appreciate the effort. I asked him a few questions that he gave me wrong answers to. Then, I asked him to show me the smallest quantity of protein powder they had as I was only planning to sample a few before I bought in bulk. He showed me the most expensive packet. I asked if that was the only one he had in stock that was in that size. He told me yes. I usually wouldn't ask for help since the store is small and I could navigate on my own, but I was in a rush. I decided to do one last sweep of the store in case I forgot something. I literally saw at least 15 of those other small protein powder packets lol ok sir. I usually buy my supplements on bodybuilding.com, because they have the best prices, but since I've been going to Vitamin Shoppe, I've noticed they have very similar prices to bodybuilding.com which is great so I don't have to pay shipping. The staff is always very friendly and can answer all of my questions (I'm a RD so I like to quiz the staff at Vitamin Shoppe and GNC to see how much they actually know) and Vitamin Shoppe never falls short. Vitamin Shoppe has some nice people working there. Well it depends on the day! However, Vitamin Shoppe is extremely stingy and their Probiotics cannot be trusted because their refrigerator does not work at this location. Probiotics MUST be kept cold at all times. Vitamin Shoppe also has a HORRENDOUS return policy. Even when you return unopened unused product...you are NOT able to get your money back. If the product is open I think you get store credit...do NOT remember. If the product were open or unopened as long as the person has their receipt, it should be an AUTOMATIC cash, credit, or in-store credit; whatever the customer wishes. Vitamin Shoppe as a company is ATROCIOUS to their customers. They are only interested in turning a HUGE quick buck. Their profit margins are aggressive. I will only shop there when I'm in a DESPERATE pinch; otherwise, I will look elsewhere ...i.e., Vitamin World. read more
