The protein powder brand I always buy is the Betancourt Nutrition, and pre-workout I also get is Animo Energy. These products work well with me, and I have only seen The Vitamin Shoppe sell it (Betancourt Nutrition that is). The products are expensive, but it's the price you pay for results. When the Betancourt Nutrition goes on sale, it's a REALLY good sale. Any of the other brands when they go on sale it's good too. Depending on the brand, the sales could be, "buy 1 get the other 50% off," or " buy 1 get 1 free." Staff service is great. Paul, the store manager, has a friendly, welcoming, courteous approach when I was looking at their products. The other associate also greeted me and informed me about the sale. Hidden gem for your health needs! They are tucked away near Young's Fish market in kapolei. I recommend this business instead of GNC. Reason is- much bigger selection and you don't have to pay a membership to get their sales prices. They always have something on sale. We went there today and customer service was very excellent helpful and friendly but they weren't harassing us to make sales either so we like that. We absolutely don't like when they follow you around continuously asking you if you need help. These employees ask once and leave you alone but don't mistake it they Are paying attention and Once you look like you need help LOL someone will come out of the woodwork's to your rescue. Happy that they are open during the lockdown and the pandemic. This is my first time at this location and I am so happy that I went there because the very specific things that I was looking for was literally on sale. I saved so much money than buying on amazon which I almost did last night. Another cool thing is the cashiers will help automatically pick up some of your stuff and walk out to your car with you. The Vitamin Shoppe in Kapolei is great. I love this location. It's easy to get in and out quickly and the Sales people are very knowledgeable and really know their vitamins. I can always get assistance and every question I ask they know the answer. Absolute best of the best when it comes to nutritional supplement customer service on the island. First of all, I live in Makakilo so the location of the store - in the shopping center by Target - is incredibly convenient. Their selection is absolutely fantastic and includes but isn't limited to body building, vital nutrition, and homeopathic supplementation. They even have vegan options available! The manager, Paul, is a real stand-up guy with tons of experience, as is the key holder for the store. They always know my basic order when I come to the store; a case or two of Bang Energy Drink. Every once in a while, I'll need to restock on protein or multi vitamins as well and they're always more than accommodating. Their Vitamin Angels charity program is an excellent cause and I like to make it a point to donate whenever I can. I just happened to be in the area of this store when my physical therapist suggested I try some stuff. Getting into the parking lot is easy, due to the time I went there were a few more cars on the road than normal. As soon as I walked in I was greater with a smile from the manager who welcomed me to his store. I told him what I was looking for and he immediately took me to that area. We were greeted by assistant manager Todd who was super helpful and friendly. Overall I found the store to be clean and super organized. I don't think this store receives as much traffic as its Ala Moana counterpart but I find the layout to be much more inviting. There's lots of easily accessible parking attached to the store and you don't have to deal with multitude of cars trying to go to Target or the new movie theaters. My husband and I were frequent shoppers at this location, until now. My husband went in and purchased some things. They rang up the purchase and had some sort of "pin pad" problem. They told him they'll re-ring up the transaction and the first one will be canceled. No receipt for the canceled transaction was given to him, but he trusted that the incorrect transaction would be canceled as they said. A few days later our bank account showed both transactions, incorrect and correct. After calling and speaking with them at least 4 times and 3-4 days later, we hadn't gotten any word from them regarding a refund for the first transaction. Finally I called and spoke with the manager and was told he spoke with the DM and was told to ring up the transaction as a refund but we would need to come in. No one called us to tell us this and per this manager, he "just found out 3 mins ago and just came back from his break" so he couldn't be bothered with calling us. Also, how convenient that I called just 3 mins after he spoke with this DM?! Bull----! This store NEVER picks up the phone when we called and the manager seems so unapologetic. I've been everywhere buying supplements for more than 10 years now; that includes state side and overseas being former military. They always help me find what I need, are very knowledgeable about any of the thousands of items they sell, and always let me know about any credit I have, deals and price matching options. I'm sensitive to a lot of things and these guys are the most gracious when it comes to returns and exchanges. Went to this location tonight a few minutes before they closed. There were no other cars in the parking lot and the open sign was on due to the fact that they didn't close until 9. As I got out of my car and started walking toward the front door an older caucasian man literally rushed to the door to lock it and did so just as I was reaching for the door. I explained through the door that I just called and needed a supplement only they carried for my pregnancy. The gentleman shrugged his shoulders and shook his head in a sorry but too bad manner. Again we got there before their scheduled closing time. I understand when its time to leave work all one that think of sometimes is leaving asap, but in an industry such as health and wellness and to have it occur during normal business hours to turn down a customer is completely unprofessional and insensitive to peoples needs and time. Seems more and more I'm reminded about the kind of world we live in, but when it compromises my health and the health of my baby I think others should know where they stood in this instance. In this case, a little aloha could have went a long way. And I hope they make changes to their customer service and actually stay open as advertised. read more
