Found this store online yesterday and realized it was not too far from me, so I decided to take a ride and stop in. They had a product that I had been looking at for some time now and i was thrilled to have gotten that WITH A 10% new customer/local gym account discount ! Their dog, Raya, had me at hello! So sweet and friendly. The owners are also extremely welcoming and knowledgable. They know the supplement business and refuse to stock their store with anything less than the best. They can give you the manufacturing history of each product, ingredient details, etc... They clearly really do their homework before stocking a product and they also try the majority of the supplements themselves! Not like when you walk into a national nutrition store and ask "have you tried it?!" And you get a "ummm..no". These guys go the extra mile to provide quality supplements, that they can attest to, first-hand experience. Aside from all of that, they are so nice to talk to! Spoke with manager, equally unpleasant and unreasoning. My wife and I have been members of Newark Natural Foods since 1990. Both of us are retired nurses with 31 years of practice. While taking precautions in light of the Pandemic is appropriate, the staff and manager are acting in a manner that is mean spirited and inappropriate. There is a doctrine that every nursing board in every state follows to the letter: The Nurses's Practice Act, specifically states: "What the reasonably Prudent Nurse would do" The operative word is "Reasonably". By the harassment the that I've experienced on my visits suggests that neither Management nor Staff understand the concept of Reasonably Prudent. Fear and paranoia have swept aside all reason and have thoroughly alienated this customer of 23 years. I'm not sure how many customers have been dealt with this inappropriately. Perhaps if their profits plummet and insight prevails they might start treating their customers in a more fair, understanding snd friendly manner.
