As a vegan I get sad leaving anything other than 5 stars for vegan spots, but this place is insane. I have experience with the cheeses here; I know they are specialty, handmade, imported from makers who do small batches based on the orders they receive, & I know that many come in damaged, so I understand what I'm paying for and that prices will never be cheap. However, the inflation is crazy - the exact reason that people think they could never go vegan, or are discouraged from even wanting to try. I will continue ordering my speciality cheeses online, because even with 1 day air shipping on these perishable cheeses, they are still cheaper. The selection was great, so if you need something last minute or have money to give away, it's worth the visit. read more

Cheese, for me, is a separate food group and I scoffed at seeing the Vreamery. I spent $40 to prove myself right that there is no such thing as good vegan cheese. I was not at all expecting to truly enjoy the selection I was provided! I only wish that we now had something like this in Denver. read more

Their food is great! I was astounded when I found this place. Not too many places around serve quality vegan brunch foods. Breakfast and lunch sandwiches with vegan cheese, deli slices, aioli, and sides like potato salad. I'm always excited to order from these guys and so glad they're around. As a long time vegan I was so excited to come into town and try this shop. They have maybe 15-25 cheeses to choose from so I was a bit overwhelmed and wasn't quite sure where to start. I told the young girl working this exact thing, and got an "ok". So then I explained I was looking to buy a gift for a non-vegan, and a few selections for myself. Again not much of a response. Then I asked if they offer samples. I was advised you can purchase 5 samples for $5, which I did. They were all very flavorful and tasty. As I finished my tasting, with no other customers around, neither of the girls cared to ask how it was, if I had any questions, or wanted to purchase anything. At this point I just walked away, very disappointed with the lack of customer service, and decided to think about how I wanted to spend my money here another day. I went back the next day and too keep things easy purchased a prepacked block of Dill Havarti cheese from The Uncreamery for $14. I'm sorry to say it was not like the deli case cheeses, and quite unpleasant. A few other negatives are that they do not offer any firm cheeses for slicing, they are all spreadable. The pricing is expensive, $4.50 for an ounce, which is quite small. For a gift to give to someone without being embarrassed, one would have to spend quite a bit of money. Not many people are able to spend $30+ on a piece of cheese. It is odd that no samples are offered, which is the opposite of any cheese shop I have ever come across. Especially at this price, and such a specialty shop really should provide maybe a limited number of samples, maybe 2-3 samples, and pay for any additional. Sandwiches are $16 which is also pricey. Overall my experience here was a letdown, and I would not return, but people ok with spending a good chunk of money on very little cheese, and know what they want, may have a better experience. read more

The Vreamery is the best vegan cheese shop I've ever been to, and I've been to several! They have a wide variety of all different types of cheeses, and all of them were absolutely delicious! We got a grazing box to take wine tasting with us, and it was perfect-- definitely recommend for anyone going wine tasting around paso. Our favorites were the porcini mushroom, white cheddar, peppercorn, and my boyfriend loved the beer cheddar. The Vreamery was so good that we came back the next day to try their paninis and buy some cheese as a gift for a friend -- both were delicious!! Service was great too. I should start by saying I'm not from the area, and that I stopped here on the way back out of town. In excitement, I might add. I was thrilled that there was actually a place for me to get delicious vegan cheeses! I spent about $30 here, unfortunately I will not be returning. I have passed through the area again and decided not to give them my business. It was very upsetting to me, someone that was very excited to try this place and support it, to be treated badly by the people working there. I continued to be kind hoping that they would return the favor. They did not. It was two young women, and they acted annoyed at my existence. I got a box, and they didn't include any vegan meats. Also didn't mention it or alter my price I paid at all even though one key ingredient was missing. If I had known there would be no vegan meat in the box I would not have ordered one. These two girls were very rude, unprofessional, and it was obvious they do not have any kind of passion in anything. Especially not their job. I loved the vegan cheeses that I was lucky enough to try. Too bad it was a one off thing. read more

Don't get there too close to closing... we were super excited to try and BUY these cheeses. Fifteen minutes before closing we asked if we could do the sampler and were told they couldn't do the sampler but could give us a couple to taste. Great. Then as we tasted we were told we'd have to come back to purchase as she couldn't sell us any now. Mind you we had come by earlier and asked what time they closed and we were there before closing. We pointed out the time and were told she had a lot of things to do before closing. Maybe closing time should be adjusted to account for all those things. Bummed we didn't get to buy any of the cheese. Based on reviews they sound amazing. Advice for those interested don't show up before closing. read more

I also ordered a four-cheese sampler plate but was overwhelmed with the options because they all looked great- so the woman working there asked me a few questions on preference to help narrow it down to two soft cheeses and two hard ones. She gave me the truffle bleu cheese and I'm not even sure what the others were. They were all great but I especially loved the truffle bleu cheese and the other soft one. I was blown away by this shop, best vegan cheese shop I have been to, and I've been to ones in LA, Orange County, and Portland. The cheeses all have their own unique flavor and consistency. We got the large cheese box to enjoy at our favorite wineries near by and I couldn't have pictured a better spread to pair with great wines. We were so impressed with the cheese box we went back the next day and got some of their paninis. I would recommend Vreamery to anyone in the Paso area looking for phenomenal plant based cheeses and sandwiches. Hoping they can start shipping soon so I can enjoy from home. read more

After buying their cheese several times at the farmer's market, I was so excited to visit their shop and try some new things. Tbh after being vegetarian for 15+ years, I've learned to have really low expectations for veg sandwiches... to my amazement, I was completely blown away by how DELICIOUS the Vreamery's sandwiches were! My lady and I shared the Peaceful Piggy and the Altruistic Artichoke (and got a couple wedges of cheese to sample once back in San Francisco). The bread is super quality and both sandwiches came hot, melty and fresh I was so psyched I wolfed them down in one sitting and am now wishing I saved some for the rest of my road trip! Huge selection of cheeses in their case, it was tough to choose just a couple... Service was great to boot!! My husband & I planned a babymoon from La Quinta, CA to Paso Robles around a work trip of his, so on the night of his job & my night to myself, I decided (about a week before our trip!) my dinner was going to be a sandwich and a sampling of vegan cheeses at the Vreamery. BEST decision I could have made. Sara(h?) was a DOLL and so genuinely patient and kind that she took the experience to the next level for me. I take customer service very seriously and your vegan cheese could be great (which it is), but if I had a poor experience, I would never bother coming back. Thanks to Sara making a wonderful first impression of this vegan cheese experience, I will never skip The Vreamery during my biannual trips to Paso. Anyway, I sampled most of the cheeses and left with Smoked Cheddar, Black Truffle, and Peppercorn (omigod the peppercorn ). I meant to take some Chevre home too but my pregnant brain forgot it . The Altruistic artichoke panini was like the best kind of grown up grilled cheese. I'm honestly so excited about this place and would love to see them expand! I had the extreme pleasure of visiting The Vreamery yesterday. They had a wide assortment of vegan cheese of which I may have bought a ridiculous amount. Big fan of their cheddars and smoked cheddars. They were very kind and helpful in working around my allergies and had ingredient information at the ready. I had an artichoke and cheese melt on gluten free bread that was incredibly good. The wonderful owner, Jennifer, and lovely employee, Sara, couldn't have been nicer. Best cheese ever! Seriously. You are missing out if you haven't tried it. My husband and I love the Peaceful Piglet sandwich, and the mild cheddar is our favorite of the cheese blocks & slices. We haven't tried the gourmet cheeses because we don't like "weird" cheeses, but they look so real! I'm sure they are just as amazing as the cheeses we have tried.
