But if you're planning a visit, build in serious buffer time. We stopped in on Memorial Day and, with several parties ahead of us in line, didn't place our order until nearly 20 minutes after arriving. By the 45-minute mark, our food still hadn't come out for two paninis and a soup. What made it especially frustrating was watching parties who arrived after us get their cheese orders and drinks served before anyone had even started assembling our sandwiches. It was clear the shop was understaffed for the holiday weekend, with one person managing the counter and another in the back prepping. We ended up asking to take the sandwiches cold just to get out the door, only to have both stuffed into one small bag, sloppily wrapped. The soup, unfortunately, came out lukewarm regardless. None of this felt malicious. The shop has an unhurried, artisanal quality that's part of its appeal, but that can't fully account for the gap between the experience and a nearly hour-long wait for a simple lunch order while others moved ahead of us. Come for the cheese, come for the atmosphere. Just don't come hungry with anywhere to be.

I also recommend the coffee and a pastry post lunch, if you have room for it. At the time, I would have only wished for a little more spice from the sandwich and more outdoor seating to make it a full 5 star but I think 4 stars is fair and ac

Ordered the Lindsay and the Italian to split between the two of us. Lindsay was good. Reminded me a little bit of some other sandwiches from slo although not quite the same however that one was tasty. Flavor was good and the balance was pretty good. Next comes the Italian. Well. I was sadly disappointed with this one. The amount of bread that was on it was a lot. Usually most places that make Italians with hoagies, will go ahead and remove some of the bread so that it has enough space for the meat and everything else. This one was probably 2/3 bread, the rest was the actual accoutrements. I was not a fan of the muffaletta. But that's on me because I'm not a muffaletta fan. Meats were good but the whole sandwich didn't mesh for me. Staff was really nice, the selections of cheese were awesome but that place was hot! Not sure what was going on with the AC that place was hot! It's worth a stop based off the quality meats, location and staff.

I actually discovered this business while attending the Thursday night SLO Farmers Market and fell in love with their cheeses. I was happy to find out that I could also purchase their products here at this market. I had to get more of the Cabernet Cheddar and I also decided to try the Chipotle Cheddar. The Cabernet Cheddar is truly the bomb! So creamy and tasty. Their cheese is made primarily from goat or sheep milk as they do not use very much cow's milk in their recipes. Service is always friendly and helpful. I love walking into the aging cheese fridge where all the wheels of cheese sit. Smells yummy! In addition to their cheeses, they also offer a custom build your own charcuterie board in three sizes ready for you to take with you. There are meats, cheese, fruits, and crackers right there to add to your board. Also, they offer fudge and other chocolate delights. Truly a great place to stop and stock up on your items for a day at the beach, a picnic or a hike.

I chose to personally handpicked my own cheeses instead of what was offered in the DIY station. My favorites were the Smoked Gouda and Garlic Cheddar. The young gentleman was very helpful and knowledgeable. It's a great addition to SLO Market since they have a lot of outdoor seating to enjoy delicious cheese, crackers, spread, and sunshine!

Glad I found Indigo Moon. The outdoor patio is quite large and has a nice ambiance for al fresco dining with your pup. I had the Faroe Island Salmon served with broccoli and cauliflower with brown & wild rice. The salmon was one of the best salmons I've had. I usually don't eat the skin, but this skin was crisp and the salmon was cooked perfectly. If you love salmon, this is a must. My friend had a chicken pasta and also loved their main dish. We were too full to have dessert. Next time. Service was nice and attentive. My pup also loved the patio and loved the fresh bowl of water. I'll definitely be back next trip to Cambria.

The host and our server Elin were friendly, helpful and attentive. The food, however, was mostly underwhelming. * Crab Cakes -- Too much filler for me, and not much crab to the taste. The chili lime sauce was not the best looking accompaniment either. Not sure why this appears to be such a popular item. * Salmon Tacos -- Dry rub salmon chunks with chili lime mayo, shredded cabbage, mango salsa and black beans. Salmon was fresh enough, but a bit heavy on the dry rub seasoning. The mango salsa was nice. The side black beans had too much salt and cummin for my taste. * Flat Iron Steak -- It was rather average. Not the most tender or juicy skirt steak. Normally served with mashed potato and veggies, but they allowed us to sub mash potatoes for creamy polenta which was nice. I have to say we were expecting more from Indigo Moon based on the other reviews. Overall, the food was just ok...like a longtime neighborhood cafe you'd like to support, but don't expect super fine dining.
