The shop itself is small and has limited produce. It is cute and has an adorable aesthetic. I just didn't find anything to buy other than lemons. - The cost of the lemons was expensive. They were organic but about 3x the price at the farmers market. - It is notes that CalFresh recognizes them as an in network seller for EBT but I learned they do not accept this form of payment. Such a neat business. Nature's Touch is a nursery that seems to specialize in fruits/veggies/edible plants. The staff and owner are super helpful with answering questions, and really go out of their way to help you to have as successful as garden as possible. I do not have a green thumb, but I bought a serrano plant from them last year, and with their advice, I was drowning in healthy peppers all summer! I stopped by today to pick up some fun plants for my little veggie garden. One cool thing about this nursery is that they will only put out for display the plants that are in season and that will likely be successful in current conditions with the right care. The staff member that I spoke with today explained that their summer plants are in the back and ready to go as soon as the weather is warm enough for them to thrive- probably a couple more weeks. I picked up some Spring veggies to take home for now (with instructions for care and how/when to harvest), and will be back later! They also have really lovely healthy prepared foods, a health food market, a little craft store on the premises, and a natural wine tasting room here- as well as some cool features of local caterers and food trucks, including the El Red Rooster taco truck, which is fantastic (his hours have changed a bit over time, but it seems like Thurs-Sat from early-ish lunch on). Local Take: This is a hyper-local rather quirky cute little place, that is kind of a neighborhood Whole Paycheck, meets Local Products, meets "Health-food", meets Winery/Olive Oilery, meets Plant Nursery...which all means that it is hard to define. Even though this is on the Main St. of Templeton, it is the Main St. of Templeton....meaning that few outsiders seem to explore this rather cool area, and I think locals like it that way. Most tourists go to the nearby Farmers Market at the local Park, Tin City environs, or just across the 101 to the area around Twin Cities Hospital. Downtown Templeton, seems to have a Mayberry feel, but is more insular for some reason. While I had a warm reception here at their partnered Wine/EVOO Tasting bar, the grocery/ nursery was less welcoming. I did buy a bunch of nice mushrooms & tomatoes, and upon check out asked the clerk about edible flowers & she pointed me to someone else. That someone else seemed not to be forthcoming [too busy chatting ?] & rather than show me the plants, she rattled off some names, which was of marginal help. Hey fine, if you do not want my business...fine....but please be polite to any customer, even from the next town or so. Fortunately, I am almost used to quirky people and obviously if I come here, I have to be prepared to be on my own. Who knew even asking about edible flowers would be a hassle? Anyway, besides the cool wine/EVOO from the bar, they also happened to carry a Gold Medal award winning EVOO that Bob makes on his Templeton farm...and often can be found at the Farmers Market. Bob is quite interesting as well. Nature's Touch has a rather odd-ball feel, but despite the quirks & small selection, it is tastefully curated with good products. Some are local & some, like the nice mushrooms are from other area in CA. The stock is quite variable, and some fresh made local stuff appears to sell out quickly. The owner obviously does a great job at curating what they sell....but it sure would be nice if they were a tiny bit more welcoming to "new" people. After all, we have either lived in or visited this area for about two decades! It is really hard to notice that this place even exists unless like us, I kind of knew a grocery was around here somewhere, but was "hiding" behind the plant nursery. What drew us in that day, was two pop-up art displays out in front....so we looked & then saw the nursery, and then found the almost secret building in the back. They had ready to heat/eat soups, sandwiches, & more in their little take out section. Too bad that they did not have a pop-up food place...or even a BBQ outside. While it had a "Vegan/Healthy" feel about the place, it has to said that the latest research shows that no amount of alcohol is "good" for you, regardless of organic/biodynamic, etc...; that being said, the wine, cider, & olive oil found at the bar & in the cooler is generally excellent. I tasted & picked a nice bottle of not too dry Cider from them, after some really kind friendly service. You only live once! I grew up spending my summers on my cousins farm in PA, so I do know that so-called City Slickers are generally not too welcome....especially those who ask for edible flowers & appear to be "spoiled". I was kind of obsessed with Edible Flowers for a brief time, since someone local had posted an award winning pic of transparent spring rolls where beautiful local flowers decorated it [on FB for Coastal Foodies]....and other one was of cool ice cubes with them frozen inside. Yes, not needed for food, but really lovely. Oh, we really enjoyed the products that we bought from here....thus the five stars. The service issue kind of balanced out to net neutral, since the owner of the vineyard was super-nice & friendly, as opposed to the "chill" of some others. Looking at the not recommended review section kind of helped clarify some of my impressions, that not all was rosy in little Templeton. It is interesting that almost every town/city around this area has all kinds of their own local or hyper-local "drama". Some you can see on your local Next-door app, & some by chatting with locals who lived there for decades or more. Recently, on our first trip to little Old Town Orcutt, we somehow chatted with several locals who all brought us up to speed on their hyperlocal gossip. Likewise, we have our own hyperlocal concerns... coming from the big cities of NYC, Honolulu, LA....and even Modesto, it sure is interesting to say the least. read more

Farmers market style nursery. Fresh produce, meats, grains, and milk. Looks like they also do some wine tasting, and garden classes. Friendly staff, who are glad to help and look for items. Great ice cream selection, dried meats, and honey. Some great choices for plants, grapes, figs, plums, apricots and more. Love Nature's Touch for their produce they sell and unique items. However, as nursery, NOT good. I purchased two Salvias - one is doing very well and one died within two weeks. "I'm sorry, we don't refund or exchange when it comes to plants, because we don't know what kind of gardener you are." Huh, seriously?!?! I'm a gardener who knows how to garden, water, feed, and take very good care of my plants. You should see my front and back yards! Very disappointed in your policy. My favorite grocery store in the North County!!! We are so lucky to have this gem in Templeton. The owner and staff here are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I have been shopping here for years because the owner Melanie only stocks food that is grown and produced with integrity. I especially like their selection of local organic fruits and veggies. Also, their local free-range eggs are the best anywhere. Additionally they have great deli items available fresh daily. I can do nearly all my grocery shopping in this one little store. There is also a nursery out front with the best plants available in the county. If you haven't discovered this place yet, you will be in for a pleasant surprise. read more
