Stunning grounds and all around gorgeous hotel. A group of us visited for a night to attend a swimwear fashion show. We had 3 rooms which were all decorated in the same very modern fashion - large super comfortable beds, a small fridge with ice bucket and bar accoutrements, a very high priced mini bar, gorgeous bathtub with shower, patio, and absolutely NO privacy within the room. We were able to be on the patios and have privacy as well as our entry way courtyards donned with a swinging hammock chair and a bistro set. However, since we shared our room with another couple, we had to be strategic about showering and dressing as the bathroom was all glass. It was super cute and very cozy. The TV was way too big for the small space, though.
The grounds are sprawling with lush grassy areas, plenty of palm trees and local foliage, and pieces of art. There are golf cart drivers who will take you to and from your room for no charge. The lobby is stunning - art work, large comfortable sofas, and the most beautiful tile runway I've seen leading out to a catwalk above the pool.
The pool was loooooooong, but only about 4' deep, and warmer than a bath. We didn't find it refreshing as it was a bajillion degrees outside with oppressive humidity, but it was lovely nonetheless. Of course the sand in Nayarit is white and soft with gentle waves that break back instead of directly on the beach as in Vallarta.
There is a super cute old truck converted into a bar on the beach, plenty of tables and chairs around the grounds, water sports rentals, and a couple of restaurants. It's not all-inclusive which I find bizarre for this area as there is literally nowhere to go, but I guess that's how they get you. $400/night (we had a travel agent discount, thankfully) plus the insanely high food and beverage prices make this a very expensive vacation if staying for a week or more. I found it perfect for just one night, though. The show was fantastic and I would love to be able to stay here again! read more
